  1. I am just glad to know we have so many great GM's to choose from on this board if Fitterer does not work out lol.
  2. I know that above all else teams want to win and if they felt like Cam would help them win they would sign him tomorrow. I really don't think it is has to do with personality or anything else I really just think they don't see him being a player that will lead them to wins. I really cannot believe he does not have a reality show already. His personality would do well in this type of venture. He could also be a shot in the arm for the XFL if he were to go there.
  3. Agree and also that any of them really know lol. Some people take themselves way to serious and greatly overestimate their football knowledge. Guys that do this for a living miss on pics all the time, but some here think that they know for sure and anyone who does not agree with them does not know anything about football. I'll pull for whoever we draft and hope they get the right person, but at the end of the day it would not surprise me if that player is not who they thought they would be or who they thought they could coach them up to be. I am sure every organization would like the benefit of seeing the future so fans would not second guess their moves. Hindsight is really easy as a fan. Kind of like Monday morning QB.
  4. So everyone wants to pile on a comment Trevor made because they feel like it may have been made a big deal if a minority player said it? Two wrongs don't make a right.
  5. I am more interested in the between the ears at this point. We've seen you can have the greatest potential, but not have the processing speed, mental toughness or ability to learn a playbook many many times in this league. I really don't want to go with the combine stuff to pic a QB. I want someone that has proven they can make smart, quick decisions under pressure.
  6. I still cannot shake the image of him breaking down on the field following that concussion. It was really tragic to watch. His intelligence, work ethic and preparation made him one of the best at his position. Watching QB's audible and Luke audible to adjust time and time again was so much fun to watch. I think he could be a great coach one day if he chose to do so.
  7. I think he brings a work ethic and preparation that our young guys should be able to learn from and hopefully emulate. Basically the antithesis of Robbie. I think he has a couple of years left, not sure if the Cap and drafting will grant him 2 I don't see if being beyond 2
  8. I was responding to the people that call anyone who points out any flaws Cam has as haters. You are right it is somewhere in the middle and I think that is where Cam falls as well. Everyone points to 2018, but ignore 59.2% in 2017, 52.9% in 16 and 59.87% in 15. He was not among the best passers in the league in his era. Career 59.9% when looking at the entire body of work. First 8 years in the league he only crossed 60% 2 times until 2018. 193 TD's to 123 int's for his career, but let's not let stats get in the way. I was giving the benefit of the doubt because I don't know what would have happened if he did not hurt his shoulder and had matured a little more, but the body of work prior was not great from a passing standpoint.
  9. I more interested in how well they can slide and avoid contact.
  10. more like if he had Drew Brees's accuracy he would have been unstoppable and possibly the most dangerous QB we have seen
  11. Amazing to me that the people who don't laud compliments on Cam and totally agree with the the folks that believe he was the greatest are called haters and implications immediately made of why they don't feel that way. If you think he was the greatest more power to you. Everyone is entitled to an opinion without it being something else.
  12. Clearly not willing to take a back up roll and accept reality at this point in his career. Love the good years he gave us, but he never was able to transition to being a pocket passer due to injury and accuracy issues. The history of the league is littered with guys who were great in college and their early years, but never made the next step when their feet slowed down with age. I don't know even if not injuring his shoulder if Cam would have ever been able to stand back and sling it with consistent accuracy. He would abandon his footwork far too often. Hard to coach those instincts out when they have been part of a players make up and gave them success based off of elite athleticism for all of their early playing days and careers. He was the best athlete on the field most of his life.
  13. and he knows the difference between a bear and a panther
  14. Panthers have all the leverage now. The info that "leaks" out helps them maintain the position. These writers gobble it up thinking they have the inside scoop and throw it out there, furthering the Panthers ability to keep any options with other teams open.
  15. It is the reason Dan Patrick left ESPN and went out on his own. He has stated it quite clearly several times over the years. The networks have certain big market teams that they know generate a national buzz and they are instructed to talk about them for ratings. We are not a big market team, even though Charlotte continues to grow much more quickly than some of the other markets.
  16. I believe if you really want him much like Corral last year, I think he falls out of the first round. Too many questions about his accuracy which is key to be a top tier QB in the league. The body of work you have to grade him on is very small and I just don't see teams taking him at a high pick. I may be wrong, but I think there is enough concern about his passing ability to give teams pause, but somebody may get all wrapped up in his combine stats and pull the trigger. I would not use #9 pick on him.
  17. I think you are using 6 games to say he is a different player, but I am not allowed to use the same 6 games to say I don't think he is. I understand what you are saying about him getting the short end of the stick on coaches and I agree, but I really see things in him that are not indicative of QB capable of putting together the consistency you need to win over a full season. We can throw stats around all day, you can find many to support your thoughts and I can do likewise. My eyes tell me a different story than yours. At the end of the day, we can just disagree and if he does start, for the record, I really hope I have to come back here and eat crow. I will gladly take a crow buffet at that point.
  18. you picked the one game against the steelers to get your 108 rating. how about this then: When leading 17+ 143.8 Leading 9-16 143.5 Leading 1-8 82.7 Tied 70.3 Trailing 1-8 65.2 Trailing 9-16 90.1 And most of this was probably against prevent defense. When things are tight he does not show up. I think Sam could be a great back up, I just don't think he is consistent enough to bring it week in and week out. Just my opinion. We may end up finding out though.
  19. Passer rating in January in important games was 72.9 with 3 picks. He was pressured and sacked more in those games.
  20. It is funny to watch the guys that slam Sam say that Cam can still get it done. My read on Sam is that if you can get to him early and rough him up, his clock speeds up and he is ruined the rest of the game. He keeps those feet chopping the rest of the game and rushes all of his throws or makes really poor decisions with the ball. I don't think anyone is coaching it out of him at this point. It is an instinct he has and when fight or flee kicks in he is what he is.
  21. And deadly accurate. Not saying Young does not have accuracy, but if he is compared to Brees because of stature you cannot overlook how accurate Brees was.
