  1. Congrats on having a popular opinion. I love that for you. Doesn’t make all of you correct though. Look back at the Miles Sanders signing thread and see how excited people were. Me personally, I’d rather not bank on a RB coming off back 2 back ACL tears who by the time when he actually plays again, will be almost 3 years since his last meaningful football reps. Two wrongs don’t make a right. It’s a stacked RB class. We should take advantage of it. We’re going to look back and kick ourselves when multiple RB’s from this draft class breakout who we passed on because we were waiting on our damaged goods RB.
  2. Would’ve rather tried to get a RB in the draft. If for some reason we failed to do so, there still would’ve been plenty of FA RB’s available post draft to spell Chuba.. RB’s hang around the FA market longer than any other position. Morgan would rather be “loyal” to Brooks and prove to people it wasn’t a bad pick, than take advantage of a strong RB class. I don’t agree with Morgan’s strategy, but I rarely do.
  3. You must have low standards if you think he played decent. He ranked 138/189 MLB’s. He was also over drafted. Never should’ve been a 3rd rounder. I get that he’s a rookie, but you still want your rookie 3rd rounder to show flashes. He showed hardly any flashes as a rookie. If he did, then in what game? Please let me know and I’ll go back and watch. I saw a lot of missed tackles, bad pursuit, bad instincts, bad block shedding, he looked lost. He was outplayed by an undrafted guy. If he improves then great, but I’m not holding my breath. 3rd round picks frizzle out more times than not anyways. It’s my opinion, if you don't agree, then that’s fine
  4. I meant as in hope of him being our future ILB. Sure, we can keep him around as depth.
  5. I think this signing will say a lot about Wallace. If he can’t beat this guy out, then it’s time to officially move on from him after this season.
  6. I agree, but we can’t afford to add another highly paid DT on the roster. You create dline depth by drafting well and having those rookie d-lineman produce on cheap contracts. There’s a reason why the Eagles let Sweat and Williams walk. You have to spread out your money to create a more balanced team
  7. Because I’d bet serious money that most posters who love Walker don’t watch his film. They watch his highlights and press conference interviews and get enamored with how well spoken he is. If being well spoken made you a great player, then Myron Rolle would have been a first ballot hall of famer. Facts are he’s undersized at both ILB and Edge and it shows on his film. He gets washed out of plays very easily. Struggles to get off blocks. Id rather him be that boom or bust prospect for another NFL franchise.
  8. Do we really think Dan Morgan wants his 18 million DT as a rotational player? Also, what about in Nickel when only two DT’s are on the field? Yes, we run a 3/4 but casual fans don’t realize how often NFL defenses are in Nickel with how pass happy the league is. That’s just a lot of $$ on the sideline watching when we’re in desperate need for help in other places.. We don’t have the luxury to hoard DT’s when we lack talent at LB, edge, CB, WR, Safety, TE, RB etc. I’m a huge Graham fan, but I’d be stunned if we take him given how much money we have invested in DT.
  9. This is prob my favorite signing of the day tbh
  10. How many DT’s do we need? We already have D Brown, Wharton, Bobby Brown, A Robinson, Tuttle, Ray all under contract. That would be a poor allocation of resources with how many other holes we have. That’s a lot of $$ on the sideline watching.
  11. Raiders fans saying we massively overpaid.. I feel like we panicked after losing Milton Williams and threw way too much money at this guy
  12. Would’ve been nice to get him around 23.5 million under Surtain.. I’m always left feeling like we over payed with literally every signing for the past few years under Dan Morgan. I get that we pay the “bad team tax” but I still question Morgans and Brandt Tillis negotiating skills time and time again
  13. I’m fine with it. He’ll be the 3rd highest paid DB here pretty soon once Sauce and Stingley get their deal. Best to get ahead of them.
  14. I’ll be surprised if he makes an opening day roster for another NFL team. I never thought he was an NFL caliber RB
  15. Just to play devils advocate, Danielle Hunter was pick #88.. Picking a player similar to Hunter’s profile at pick 8 is extremely risky.
  16. I’d rather have Osa Odighizuwa from the Cowboys. Similar player who wasn’t carried by the elite Eagles D-line. Probably cheaper. Only 1 year older.
  17. And he had 1.5 sacks each of the last 3 seasons. It’s one thing to have a fluke season of a low sack rate, high pressure rate, but he struggled to get sacks every single year…Plus, if’s not like he’s getting crap coaching and resources, He’s at a top tier power 5 football school. A guy like Walter Nolan had more sacks in 1 season at a harder position to get sacks at than Shemar Stewart had in his entire career. Can he be a stud? Yes. Do I want to the Panthers to be the team to play Roulette with him? Nah, I’m good. I’d much rather trade back, pick up an extra 2nd and pick up Landon Jackson or Prince from Ole Miss. Both guys have elite traits (not as high has Shemar) but way more production then Shemar. Best of both worlds at a cheaper price.
  18. Both aren’t ideal imo, but give me Shemar Stewart over Mykel Williams.
  19. Not a huge fan. Lacks athleticism. I’d rather rebuild the TE room another way unless they take a 6th or 7th but I highly doubt they would accept that
  20. He ran a 4.52. Wasn’t expecting that from him. I’d be ok with it
