Not a huge fan. Lacks athleticism. I’d rather rebuild the TE room another way unless they take a 6th or 7th but I highly doubt they would accept that

Meet Our New MLB - Danny Stutsman
flagfootballcoach28 replied to chknwing's topic in Carolina Panthers
He ran a 4.52. Wasn’t expecting that from him. I’d be ok with it -
I’ve really liked what I’ve seen from Ty Robinson, Aeneas Pebbles, Joshua Farmer during their workouts today. Great day 2 and 3 prospects who move extremely well, plus good tape and production to match.

I Think Ashton Jeanty will be the Pick at #8
flagfootballcoach28 replied to chknwing's topic in Carolina Panthers
Jeanty is one hell of a RB. I’m really looking forward to watching him play, but it won’t be in a Panthers uniform. I’d love to draft a RB in the 5th in this extremely deep RB class, so I get your sentiment. -
How will projections and upside make him grow 3 inches taller? Again, I like Walker. Just not at 8. Too much of a tweener. That's coming from a guy who has watched a lot of his game film, not just his highlight tapes. I like my top 10 picks to have the proper physical traits. As Bill Parcels said “Big men win you football games” I’d like to stay away from the exceptions, not the rule. I’d rather just sign a guy like Nick Bolton in FA to play ILB even if we have to overpay a little bit. He would be perfect Ideally, we need a pure edge at #8. There is no edge prospect at 8 that is worth the pick. It would be a major reach So, then what? Daft BPA at a position that makes sense for the team. Johnson, Tet, Warren would be those guys in my opinion. But since the Panthers always draft on potential and upside, I fully expect Jalon Walker to be the pick. If so, I hope he becomes a stud. I’ll gladly eat my crow if he turns out to be the player a lot of you think he will become. At the end of the day, I just want to see this team win.

Ignore this guy. This keyboard warrior would rather focus on “got ya” moments than actually have a healthy debate about a player. Tbh I’m surprised he hasn’t been banned yet. Dude is either a troll or has serious mental health issues. But tbh, I’ve also seen mocks of Jalon Walker in the 2nd.

He definitely is a hybrid. 1st down- 5 yards off the ball ILB. Passing situations- edge. That’s the proper way to use him. UGA even used him as a hybrid. We must have different definitions. I like Walker. I think he’s a good player. I just think there’s better options at #8. Only time will tell.
-
To take an ILB at #8, he better be a transcended player like a Luke Kuechly. Jalon Walker is not in that stratosphere. The value just isn’t there. There’s a handful of ILB like Barrett Carter, Demetrius Knight Jr, Chris Paul Jr that will be available in third round I really like and would present way better value. At #8? Give me a Will Johnson, Tet, Warren over a hybrid LB.

Here’s the keyboard warrior at it again lol. Once again, have you actually watched his film? If so, what was your take away? Or are you going to stick to immature insults?
-
Great insight. How many of his games have you watched?
-
How many of you Jalon Walker truthers have actually watched full game tape on him? Just curious? I have. Multiple games. As an edge, he is very poor against the run, has a hard time holding his ground. Gets bullied by the 6’5 300 pound lineman once they get their hands on him because he’s only around 6’1 and naturally a smaller guy compared to other edges. Can he rush the passer? Yes, at times. But at this rate he’s an ILB who can rush on occasion because of his run defense liability. I don’t think you draft that at #8. Sorry. I’ll pass.
-
It definitely sounds obvious Dan Morgan wants to address the defense first and foremost (not a big surprise). But I wish he’d put on more of a poker face when he talks about his plans. He’s extremely easy to read and I hope a team who wants the same player we want (Jalon Walker) won’t take advantage of that. I’m hoping I don’t hear stories like last year when we told XL we were going to draft him. It’s good to hear that Morgan feels more comfortable as a GM in year 2. Hopefully it’s translates to quality draft picks. We desperately need it. Can’t wait for the draft.

Shaq Thompson to Enter Free Agency
flagfootballcoach28 replied to travisura's topic in Carolina Panthers
I feel the same way. Not many people was expecting a 3rd round rookie LB to be consistent and play extremely well week in and week out , but you still want to see some splash plays that show that the potential is there. I saw very little of that with Wallace -

I would say ILB on 1st down, sometimes 2nd. Edge on the others. -
This is Dan Morgan and our scouting department’s Super Bowl. They love their RAS scores.

God forbid I give students an opportunity to compete, commit to a team, and have fun playing in competitive competition. I spend countless hours coaching football and track for very little pay. Do I necessarily always want to? No. But I teach at a small school and frankly no other teachers have stepped up. If I don’t coach, no one else would. That’s why this GIF and the other posters comment earlier get underneath my skin. Have some damn respect, you jerks.

I coach HS Flag in Nevada for the school I teach PE at. It’s actually a really popular sport out here. What are you trying to say?

This is one example of why I haven't gotten married yet. Too much can go wrong. Feel bad for the guy, but his weird behavior airing this out for the world to see kind of explains why she might’ve cheated on him in the first place.. He seems to have issues. I think it’s safe to say all 3 parties can share the blame here. In regards to Steve, he was already a borderline HOF player. All it takes is a few voters to be turned off by this story to keep him out. Voters are human after all.

One of the worst players I saw play this entire season. And I’m talking about all 32 teams and their players.
-
So you’d like to waste a mid round draft pick on a QB when we have a million other holes to fill? Heck, we could use one of those mid round picks you’d like to use on a QB on an impactful RB instead. It’s a very deep RB class. Also, have you heard of Will Grier and Matt Corral? They sure panned out. Panthers historically can’t draft QB’s past the first round worth a damn. I’m glad you’re not the GM
-
Any backup vet QB is going to cost around what Dalton got if not more. All NFL teams have to pay “starting safety” money for a backup unless you roll the dice on an unproven rookie. If we didn’t give Dalton “starting safety money” we would’ve given it to someone else. It’s just the reality of the position
-
My point is, we’re not a team with a loaded roster who critically needs a backup QB to help them tread water to keep them in the playoff race. We’re still a few years away from being a serious contender. Our backup QB is not a huge priority.
-
We should draft the anti Xavier Legette. Tyler Warren. Great hands but won’t blow you away with athleticism
-
What’s wrong with a young QB having a mentor? You’re implying that a 3rd year QB should know everything there is about playing QB. Facts are if it isn’t broken, then why fix it? Bryce went out of his way during his SB media interviews to compliment Dalton. He openly supported Bryce even through his struggles. He’s not going to be a backup clamoring to be the starter. He knows the offense, he supports Bryce and probably acts as an extra coach for him with his knowledge and success he’s had in this league. There’s plenty of things to get upset about with this franchise, bringing back Dalton isn’t one of them. Also, you have the right not agree with bringing Dalton back, but atleast offer some other solutions? I haven’t heard you bring up one FA QB you’d rather have? If you do bring up a name, I’m sure I can find issues with that QB because at the end of the day, they are all backups for a reason.
