Video of Kenny Robinson's hit + celebration vs. Kristian Wilkerson
coffee replied to Icege's topic in Carolina Panthers
I swear, when I stop the video on the hit I can't see helmet to helmet. It looks to me like Kenny's shoulder to Wilkerson's shoulder. Wilkerson is inexplicably looking away. I see a clean hit that knocked him out because it caught him totally unaware. It's certainly fuzzy enough to understand why others see it differently. It's one thing for us to search through a grainy video to determine what we think, but I'll bow to the refs on site. Again, does anyone know if they threw a flag on this? -

Doesn't look like a head shot to me, but I could easily being seeing it wrong. His head was involved but it looks to me like Kenny made sure he got to the correct spot so that it wasn't an illegal hit. Was it flagged? -
Baker as QB1? McAdoo's system? Improved O-line? Return of CMC? Other?

It just seems so similar to a block Smitty made years ago. The video was passed around and everyone said it showed how good of a player he was. Would this have been an issue if there was no injury and fights weren't the topic of the day? As far as the celebration goes, I always get the feeling the bubble guys in preseason make a big display as if to say "Hey, Coach, see why you should pick me?!" -

I promise I don't mean to be smart alec here. How is this a cheap shot? I mean, I know it was a hard hit, but isn't that what he was supposed to be trying to do? He got in front of him so it wasn't a block in the back. Is it considered a blindside block? -
I only watched the first half. I'm surprised to see the Jets came back. From what I saw, I thought the Falcons looked better than I expected. But I also thought the Jets looked like a college team playing against pros. I don't ever remember seeing receivers left that wide open on practically every play. Still, Ridder did squeeze in a few pretty passes. Of course it was the same deal as our game; Falcons 1s and 2s against Jets lower roster.

Some thought we were shopping PJ by playing him. I think we actually assured that we can put him on the PS without another team plucking him.

Besides Rhule what are your concerns for the season?
coffee replied to Tr3ach's topic in Carolina Panthers
No receding O-line No CMC injury If we can get those two wishes, we'll have much better QB play (even if Darnold comes in some) and a much more bearable season than last year. -
Freudian slip?

On another forum, I mentioned that after the Seahawks game (when he should take the #1 spot from Kasay) DJ Moore (#2) and CMC (#22) should give him their game jerseys in honor of his record 222 games.

Yeah, that's true. I'm still optimistic considering how new Icky is but I understand your point.

OK, thank you. You feel this way even though it was our 2/3 stringers vs. their 1/2's? It seemed to me that, in view of that, the team held their own pretty well. It also seemed that it was mostly QB issues that cost the game. We even had a chance to to win with a final drive but, again, poor QB play by a QB who won't be on the team.
-
Do you mind if I ask something? This game was figuring out the very bottom of the roster. As we knew before the game, most likely, one Qb won't be on the team and the other will be holding a clipboard. Most of the players won't be here and of those that are, most will be 2nd or 3rd string. What is it that happened that would cause you to adjust your record prediction?

Let's just remember that he's a rookie in preseason. Showed some good and some bad. It's too early to call him a bust. Wait. Is this in the wrong thread?

Awesome job, t96!! Thank you!!

Legal problems with the Commanders? Who'd'v thought?

That game actually became a timestamp for me. Just like everything is determined as before/after marriage, before/after we moved here, before/after 9/11, in my mind, everything from that time period is before/after x-clown.
-
Wait, your answer to the question is, "So, one time at band camp..."?
-
Good point. I bet that's how they sold it to the league. That returning for that game would be good for the league. BTW, when I say "I bet" that's what they did, I hope it doesn't get me suspended.

And just a cool reminder: Do you remember the horrible feeling as overtime #1 was ending and we couldn't do anything on first or 2nd down. It just had the feeling that we were going to have to punt it back to them. Instead, X-CLOWN!

By best friend and his wife lived with us then. I was yelling so much that she (totally uninterested in football) started watching. You know the up and down emotions that you had during that game. Going through them while seeing her get just as excited about it was really cool. Not just that she wasn't a Panther fan. She didn't even like football but LOVED/HATED/LOVED that game.

That was a fun one! Before the game, Falcons forum was talking so much trash about Cam and saying Matt Ryan was so much better of a QB. It was fun afterwards to say "Yeah, I guess you're right. After all, Matt did score just as many points for the Panthers as Cam did."

Might've been. It was the home game. So, I may have right year/wrong game from the one you were speaking of.
