Panthers may now be hesitant to trade back...
rebelrouser replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
If Neal or Ekwonu are there at 6 then take them. If not, trade back. Howell, Ridder, and Strong are just as likely to be NFL qb's as Corral, Willis, and Pickett. This is a very unimpressive qb class. Not sure why everyone loves Fields. He is no better than Darnold. -
Scouting reports for the top three quarterbacks
rebelrouser replied to Verge's topic in Carolina Panthers
Corral--threw a ton of int's two years ago; lots of injuries. Just don't see him as being worth no. 6. Picket--small hands and a pretty low ceiling not making him worth a no. 6 pick Willis--too short; hasn't proven he is ready mentally to go through projections; weak competition in an rpo offense; highest ceiling and highest probability to be a complete bust. Not worth no. 6 pick. I would trade back and take a lt w/ first pick and a qb like the kid from UNC with the 2nd round pick obtained in the trade. -
Trade back to gain a 3rd or even 2nd if someone wants to move enough. This is a deep class not a top heavy one so we need to make up some picks to fill all of these holes. Take the best LT you can find in round one. Pick up a guard/center and veteran qb in free agency. Round 1 Charles Cross/Ekwonu/Kenyon Green/Raimann/Pennington....depending on how far back we go. As you can see, deep LT class and lets hope Cross or Ekwonu fall. The below scenario would be ideal" Panthers Get No. 14 overall No. 46 overall No. 97 overall Ravens Get No. 6 overall You have a deal

There is a reason he is talking about football to clueless fans rather than coaching in the NFL: .480 winning percentage.

Dabo? Dabo is an idiot who is a snake oil salesman elite recruiter. He would be an abject failure in the NFL where you can't just out talent your opponent and win a couple of tough games a hear. He can't coach worth a damn and would be worse than Urban.

I'm sorry but this isn't a winning record team.
rebelrouser replied to Snake's topic in Carolina Panthers
I could see 9-8. We still need some roster building but are off to a good start. LT is the only huge need so we can go with a lot of best available and build some depth. -
They quoted him last night as saying he was glad to end up where he was wanted. B*&$%h please, it was a business decision. JC doesn't go down, and we never trade you. Have some awareness of football decisions. We're supposed to keep an extra tight end w/ a big hole at cb?
-
having such a slow start? Benching him this week on fantasy. Might drop him all together.
-
Not any more. Must have been ped's.
-
He's suffering behind a poor oline but its not like we have a good one either. I'll take Darnold over him.
-
Gettleman sucks. Barkley? Don't take a rb w/ first pick trade down. Daniel Jones? Might be ok but shouldn't you have a oline and weapons for your new qb? Andrew Thomas? How did you get the worst of the olineman from this class by taking the first one?

What a dumbass. I bet he didn't offer nearly enough money, which is dumb becasue:

I'm pretty sure both CMC and Horns injuries are due to new field
rebelrouser replied to Snake's topic in Carolina Panthers
Artificial turf causes more injuries and its looks cheap. Absolutely no reason to use it in the South. Hell they have grass in Lambeau. -
We should be able to get Cross (MSU) or Kirkland (Washington) or Nelson (Miami). Looks like a deep OT class, which is great for us.
-
Corral was really good (except Arkansas and LSU) last year too. Leaving him off a list of college qb's is a big omission. We don't need a qb this draft though.
-
I can't wait until Brady Christensen and Deonte Brown bolster this year's oline a bit and then we can get some help for Sam in free agency and/or draft.
-
Most people thought we should have taken Rashawn Slater w/ pick no. 1. Horn makes us a better football team that Slater would have.

Matt Rhule explains deactivating Deonte Brown
rebelrouser replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
He was a sixth round pick for a reason. It should not be surprise he still has work to do other than losing weight. -
Also, Horn tranforms the defense into something different. There were serious problems last year w/ man coverage and he solved that problem. JC Horn Can Solve Man Coverage Problems

oline and drops (although Darnold put a lot on those passes and they weren't perfect).

Also, when is the last time an Ohio State qb ended up in the top 10? Answer is never. Fields had much more talent surrounding him than virtually every team he played. Once we traded for Darnold, picking a qb was not a good option and Sewell went right ahead of us We could have gone with Rashawn Slater but then missed on Horn who answers a lot of questions on D. Let's see what the BYU kid can do. I don't feel bad for not taking Fields; Mac Jones will be a better pro qb than him anyway.
