If we don't trade down, we will be picking Will Levis at 9. We need to get in front of the Raiders and then I think one of Young, Stroud, or AR will drop to us. Hopefully not AR. Of course all this goes out the window if someone trades into the Bears or Cardinals spot.
-
Draft values chart says we need to trade our 9 and then second round pick no. 55 to get to 5. We have the 39 and 61 picks in the second round.
-
If there was any kind of consensus on these qbs before, there is probably none now. I think Levis took a step back though. But top 3 could go in any order. My guess would be Texans Stroud then Colts AR. At this point we trade down to 5 to take Young.

1. Stroud 2. Young 3. AR 4. Levis. DTR looking good too.

In-Depth Film Evaluation on QB Anthony Richardson
rebelrouser replied to Saca312's topic in Carolina Panthers
How? There is always going to be film of him throwing for 33% completion rate against FSU. I really hope he goes top three so Young or Stroud can drop to us, but I fear this is just more subterfuge. Lot's of lying going on right now. -
In-Depth Film Evaluation on QB Anthony Richardson
rebelrouser replied to Saca312's topic in Carolina Panthers
Weird all of the excuses for Richardson. Florida has an "unfriendly" qb offense, their team has no talent, it's the wr fault, etc. etc. They recruited plenty of talent and AR went out and threw for 33% against FSU and then quit before the bowl. I'm going out on a limb and saying the most successful qb from this class will not be Young, Stroud, Levis or Richardson. -
The Panthers will 100% trade up and draft a QB

Gathered some picks for ammo? We're still short because of Rhule's bullshit. -
NFL.com ranks Carolina 2022 draft class as worst in NFC South

The grades they do right after the draft. -
Todd McShay seems to really like Anthony Richardson

Lance was much better in college than AR. Only Allen sucked that bad in college. -
This is all going to be a ruse so they can prison rape someone for that no. 1 pick. You want a qb? You better come get our no. 1 or we will take a qb.
-
would you be opposed to moving back up for Bijan Robinson?
rebelrouser replied to micnificent28's topic in Carolina Panthers
Helllll no. Trading draft picks yet again? This time for a rb? Are you serious? Terrible idea. If you love him wait and see if he falls to our first second round pick. -
So who should we start next year Corral or AR? The good news is after that year we can draft no. 1.

Poll: What do you want Panthers to do for QB?
rebelrouser replied to NAS's topic in Carolina Panthers
"(whatever it takes)"? I've heard a lot of people on this board use this phrase and it makes no sense. If you don't love Young or Stroud then this is just stupid. Someone (Colts) is going to get bent over trading up; hope it's not us. -
So we didn't want him or he didn't want us? Let's just hope he is enamored with a qb similar to Hurts in AR.
-
What did he do his last year of college is the big question? This year's class is overrated and it's not very deep. Last year wasn't as good at the top but was deeper. I would think Corral would be between AR and Hendon Hooker if he played reasonably well.

Would you trade Chicago's no. 1 pick for Burns?
rebelrouser replied to rebelrouser's topic in 2023 NFL Draft
The article meant swapping Burns and our 9. That would give us our pick of qb's and some cap room too i would imagine. -
Interesting proposition
-
Still surprised that so many geniuses on this board are locked in with their opinion on Corral despite him playing two preseason games w/ the scrubs. We should probably just cut him now.
-
I agree. He picked up Heupel's offense very quickly as a transfer and absolutely mastered it his second year. His long ball looks very accurate and he was very successful against great defenses. He also thinks he will be ready for fall camp (of course he would say that). I would be willing to bet he will be a better nfl qb than AR four years from now.
-
I'm not against drafting a qb. I'm against expecting that qb to be able to start right away. Aside from Young and maybe Stroud, all these guys are going to need a lot of work; especially AR.
-
Neither Levis nor AR will be ready to start in '23. We have numerous holes at dline, edge, te, wr, lb. We don't have the cap room to fill all of those with free agents. We have limited draft picks. And if we made the playoffs, which we didn't in spectacular fashion, we would have been beaten by Cowboys even worse than the Bucs were. Better rosters in the NFC? 49ers, Eagles, Cowboys, Vikings, Giants, Seahawks, Lions, Packers, Commanders.
-
The only shot we have at playoffs is because we play in the worst division in the NFL. I think we need to sign a bridge qb, pick AR at #9 (or Stroud but he won't fall that much), and then fill holes with the other picks. We need to quit trading picks for some player we think is going to get us over the top. We aren't anywhere near the top. By the time Corral or AR is ready to play, we will have a solid team built around them and then we can shoot for the stars. Could be as early as '24 but it's not happening in '23. Our ceiling in '23 is a first round drubbing.
