Yeah, I like Reich too. Hope Tepper got lucky.
-
Based on what? The fact that he did a 180 and went with a retread NFL coach recently fired instead of the next flavor college coach w/ virtually no NFL experience? I like Reich and the choice, but the man got fired in Indianapolis for a reason and that reason was losing football games. Tepper is 29-53 since buying the team. His highlights are paying a ton for Matt Rhule and defrauding Rock Hill, SC.

Tepper hasn't accomplished squat. He hired a college fool, threw a bunch of money at him, and allowed him to squander draft picks. He then appointed someone who was not a full time NFL head coach but plenty capable of turning around a demoralized team so we could ruin any chance we had at a good qb q/ pick 9. He then hired a retread albeit obvious choice for head coach in Reich but now we are giving away our future and betting everything on a midget or an Ohio State qb. I'll admit Tepper is not a bad owner when I see results and not until then. He's currently sticking his and his girlfriends nose into the qb search.

Peter King: Panthers have no interest in trading #1 pick
rebelrouser replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
They'll get whoever we say they will get and like it. -
Alabama might have one wr go in round 5 and their line was better run blocking than pass blocking. It wasn't the usual Alabama team.

He inherited a team that was going through a very serious rape scandal and played in the Big12 Championship and the Sugar Bowl in year three. They were a close loss to Oklahoma away from going to the college football playoff. Tepper foolishly threw a bunch of money and power to him; can't blame him for taking the deal. I'm sure he actually felt quite confident he would succeed based on his one year in the NFL w/ the Giants. Tepper thought he found the next Pete Carrol but Pete had 15 years in the NFL before he came back.

We don't.

A lot of other people thought highly of him too. He could have been a round 1 wr w/out the injury. Ekwonu is a Rhule guy. Doesn't make him a bad player.

Looking at Success or Failure of top 10 to 12 QBs since 2000
rebelrouser replied to Hoenheim's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yeah, Mayfield is not a bust. He was a long term starter for Browns, started for us, and now is starting for Bucs. Not a long term solution but you can't start that much and be a bust. -
Agree. And with at least four qbs going in the first round somebody has to drop. Will be a nice spot for a team that could take edge, lb, cb, te, or wr.

This is why Bryce Young undoubtedly is QB1
rebelrouser replied to Ivory Panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
No. Bryce Young's size is why they are building around Fields. -

Justin Fields 70.2% CJ Stroud 66.3%. Their stats are very similar. Also, OSU has never produced a quality NFL qb despite all of their qbs looking great in college. -

CJ Stroud = Justin Fields 2.0. That OSU system w/ that level of wrs and oline against the inferior Big10 just yields great college results that won't be duplicated in the NFL. Bears would have dumped Fields and taken Bryce Young but for the size issue. Also, whoever said the staff can coach up Stroud's mental processing speed WTF? You either have that (Young) or you don't (Stroud) just like you either have the size or you don't. I'll be happy with either and feel comfortable letting the staff make the choice. It's not like Rhule is picking the qb. -
This is pretty much my sentiment. I'm not an expert and if this staff picks one or the other, I will assume it was the right choice. One more quality wr and this new qb will have a pretty decent team right out of the gate. Plus we have a wild card in Corral and a vet to help the mentor the new guy.

No way in hell he thinks Young drops to second round so those figures on the left are their qb rank. LOL at Levis.

Thanks.

How much cap space do we have left? Very little when you factor in draft picks right ($6,676,146)? Or am I reading Sportrac wrong?

Wow. That would really free up the #39 pick considering we already signed a TE too.

Why Bryce young will be the pick and we should be excited
rebelrouser replied to RIPTreyLance's topic in Carolina Panthers
Alabama starting line was 6'6", 6'5", 6'4", 6'4", 6'6" -

Exactly. There are a lot of pros on the UGA defense and Young handled them fine and with a relatively poor Alabama pass blocking line and mediocre receivers. -
Big Board & Pick 39: Offensive Skill Player Rankings
rebelrouser replied to Bear Hands's topic in Carolina Panthers
He turned on his qb on live t.v. and has had two ankle surgeries. Hard pass. Now that we've signed a te, i would think pick 39 is definitely a wr if Hyatt or Downs if there are available, Washington the big TE from UGA if they are not. -
Now? We started with scraps. Jakobi Meyers was the top FA and he's getting 11m. I don't see Chark being much of a downgrade other than the injury history.

I think your list shows that we don't need to trade draft picks to move up. Washington, Hyatt or Downs at 39.
