  1. Say what you will about PJ, and this will be very unpopular, but same exact situation yesterday in the final minute of the game, Cam wouldn’t have come through clutch like that. I can maybe remember one or two times at most Cam 100% won a game for us in the final minute or so like PJ almost did yesterday. Don’t get it twisted, Cam is obviously the better QB for sure, but he definitely lacked that clutchness we saw from PJ yesterday
  2. Not so sure I agree, thought he had some decent gains given his first start and limited playing time
  3. We are literally going to actively and purposely lose the Lions game. I’m talking fumble in the red zone multiple times, go for it on 4th and long deep in our own territory level type stuff when we play them so we can get the no 2 pick.
  4. I still say we will likely end up regretting not trading Burns. Nothing against burns at all and I I like him a lot as a player, but short of him being Julius Peppers or Micah parson 2.0, you take two 1sts and a additional 3rd rounder or so for him and never look back.
  5. This will be unpopular but I have to say, the more I look at this QB class, the more I’m secretly starting to wonder to myself if Sam or even Baker for that matter could ball out with a new offensive minded head coaching staff. I always think back to Alex Smith pre harbaugh, then when Harbaugh took over the 9ers as head coach and Smith started looking like a legit QB, also Alex Smith was a no 1 overall pick and looked trash his career until Harbaugh. I mean we have two QBs on the roster that we’re top 5 picks, you have to imagine the odds would be in our favor to revive one of their careers with the right coaching
  6. The issue is Levis stock is falling faster than Lehman Brothers in 2008 and if the Lions and Texans pick top, 2 then young/stroud are gone. We would legit have to purposely lose somehow to the lions when we play them to nab one of the top 2 QBs
  7. The sad thing is that even at the height of our greatness like in 2015, there was still this sense of dread and we got lucky and over achieved and we all knew we were losing that SB. At least I did. I have to be honest, I think I would rather be a team like the Bengals in the Marvin Lewis era or hell even the packers post their SB win where we don’t win Super Bowls but we are consistently good month in and month out and always in the playoffs as opposed to one sb appearance or victory then back to the cellar we go
  8. He balled out today, not many QBs in this league could have made that pass to DJ
  9. Can someone tell me how it works since the Texans have a tie?’ So let’s say they are 1-15-1 and we are 2-15 at the end of the year. Do they still pick ahead of us?
  10. The sad this is PJ played like a franchise QB today and we might not even need a QB now
  11. I’m not joking in the least bit when I say this, but I am seriously considering not even following this team or football anymore. I’ve been a fan since 2011 and all the emotional roller coasters and feeling of hopelessness just isn’t worth the handful of times we might make the playoffs and the once in a 20 year super bowl loss. I truly think that destiny is destiny and this team is and will never be destined for consistent greatness and I just have to start reevaluating of its worth the time and elements energy anymore
  12. For my tankers out there.. Detroit up 21-7 on the Dolphins and Texans play the Titans today with Tannehill out.. stars starting to align?
  13. I’m seeing a lot of talk about Corral being a back up and nothing more and my question is why not see if he can be a starter? What do we know? We know that a few draft experts had Corral rated as a first round draft pick, we know he has one of the quickest releases there is, we know that Fitt traded up to get him in the 3rd round and we know he has an excellent work ethic. We are writing him off because he literally took what, 2 or three practice snaps all of training camp because of dumb azz Matt Rhule and as a result looked awful in very limited pre season play?! You don’t say..
  14. I never got the age thing, I mean yea if he was 28 or pushing 30, that’s one thing. But it depends how you look it, glass half full/half empty type thing. You could say that because of his experience and age he would be the most ready to contribute day one and have the maturity to learn an nfl offense quickly. most first round QBs don’t really shine until their sophomore year, so he will be what, 26 going on 27 by his 2nd season in the NFL and you would still have a franchise QB for 4 or 5 years on a rookie deal if he pans out
  15. Yea, at this point he is a 2nd or maybe even 3rd rounder to me. This is the 2nd time this year he has crumbled under a big game like this. A few weeks ago he had an awful game with a number of NFL scouts and GMs in attendance and this game going to head to head against Hooker he plays terrible. The guy just doesn’t seem to have that “clutch gene” at all. He threw more interceptions in tonight’s one game then Hooker has his last two seasons.. Combined. Let that sink in.
  16. Not the least bit worried about that, that’s nothing a great offensive minded coach couldn’t coach up. Cam literally ran a one read offense all throughout Auburn and literally didn’t even take a single snap under center during his time at Auburn, and look how he turned out. Hooker has the intangibles and that clutch gene in spades and if he balls out against GA, it’s a wrap
  17. Are we absolutely sure though that he’s not worth a couple first round picks and maybe a 2nd or 3rd to go along with it? I mean teams are practically willing to trade the type of draft capital normally seen for franchise QBs, I love Burns but he is no Julius Peppers nor is he a franchise QB
  18. Will Levis is falling fast for me, especially after tonight’s game going against Hooker. If Hooker plays well and beats Georgia next week, he just might be the first overall pick this year, age he damned.
  19. It may sound crazy now but if Henson Hooker and the Vols beat Georgia next week and Hooker shows out, there is a legit argument to be made that he is the best QB in this class. Will Levis worries me, I’m not so sure he has that “clutch gene.” A few weeks ago when he played a game with a number of NFL scouts and GMs in attendance, he played poorly and this game going head to head with Hooker he has played awful. That’s twice now where he could have played lights out under a lot of pressure and folded. Perspective- Will Levis had thrown the same amount of interceptions in this game alone tonight than Hooker has the COMBINED entire years of this year and last year. That’s just nuts!
  20. Only this time it will be much worse because fitt will turn have no choice but to mortgage our future to move up in the draft and take a QB, get used to the idea of not having a first round pick in 2024, because if we win enough to fall in the top 10 or so, that’s exactly what is going to happen.
  21. I agree. The thing that concerns me the most is if we fall to say pick 10 or 12, Fitt will mortgage our future and move up in the draft to get a QB all because we won 7 or 8 games when we could have just tanked, kept all our future draft picks and pick any QB that we wanted to pick.
  22. I will say that this upcoming game IS our season and will dictate how the rest of the season goes. I will say that the Bucs look like the worst team in the league right now or damn near close to it, so I’m not as impressed by our win against them as I initially was, and the Saints might be 2nd worst and we beat them with a mediocre QB that also had a broken back. Last week against the Bucs you could tell the Panthers were playing with a “fug it, nothing to lose, let’s have fun” type mentality. This Sunday against the falcons will be a GIGANTIC test to see how they do when the stakes are high and are actually playing for something with the pressure turned to 10. How do they handle the success of beating out the Bucs? How do they handle the high pressure situation of winning to get 1st place? Also, how will we do now that the falcons have tape on both PJ and the kind of offense we run without CMC?!
  23. My no 1 biggest nightmare.. We win 8 or 9 games this year, make the playoffs, we are all so happy and optimistic and we keep Wilks as our HC and Walker as our QB next year. Meanwhile the Lions and Texans hire Steichen as their HC and draft one of the top QBs and go 12-5 next year while Stroud or Young have record breaking rookie seasons. Meanwhile at the same time we go 5-12 or 4-13.
  24. So for all the anti tankers out there.. I will say this. Do you firmly believe that even if we somehow win and make the playoffs this year, that Wilks is the guy to be our next full time head coach and be that guy to get us to the promised land or the very least, a consistent year in and year our playoff team?! This question is really important because us winning several games doesn’t mean we lose a top 3 pick, but it also means Wilks is staying. Before you think otherwise, do you truly think Tepper will fire Wilks if he somehow has a winning record in the current environment?!? So again I ask, is Wilks that perennial playoff type head coach?!? Because if we win this year, he stays. I will be honest, looking around the league at the top elite teams right now, what do a majority of them have in common?! Young offensive minded head coaches. Out of ALL the teams with a winning record right now, all but two have young, offensive minded head coaches while only two (the Jets and Bills) have defensive minded head coaches. I see Wilks and I see a good leader of men but I look at his age and tendencies and I see flashbacks of Riverboat Ron or John Fox (that last game where we had all three time outs before the half with 2 mins left and just let the clock go down to half time) and I think Wilks ceiling is Fox/Rivera. Some bad seasons, one great season and a lot of mixed seasons and I do not want to go in that direction.
  25. I have to be honest, the more I see and read about hooker, the more I like it. I don’t think we will get a top 2 pick so Hooker could be that perfect sweet spot in the top 10 or 12
