  1. Possible, but look at all the hoopla Kenny Picket’s hand size stirred up after the combine and while he isn’t playing amazing, he hasn’t had any fumbling issues that many thought he would have
  2. Even he likely didn’t realize at the time we would be in contention for the no 1 pick this go around
  3. I agree, I was thinking about it today and I think everyone is overthinking this, I wouldn’t necessarily say I’m a Bryce Young fan, (I don’t dislike him either) but sometimes the best answer is the simplest one, all last year we heard how Bryce Young was going to be hands down QB1 this draft class and nothing has really changed since then. it always seems like every year there is a consensus no 1 pick at QB, then suddenly some wild card, dark house QB appears out of nowhere to challenge that. Best example was RGIII When Luck was the consensus no 1 and how some were saying at the time RG3 should be in the discussion at no 1. TLDR, stop overthinking and just take the consensus no 1 guy this whole time and keep it simple
  4. If there is one GM in the entire league who wouldn’t buy into the whole “shorter QBs are risky and can’t be NFL QBs” Narrative, it’s Fitt, who was with Seattle during the Russell Wilson glory days and likely had a hand in drafting him. Knowing that Fitt is building this team like that Seahawks team was built.. (invest heavily in the secondary with a stout run game and multi dimensional QB) Then he will have no hesitation at all to pull the trigger on Young who shares extremely similar skill set, play styles and size to Russell Wilson. We have the O line to protect Young to greatly lower his risk of injury and you have to imagine Fitt is itching to draft his next Russell Wilson.
  5. QBs in the draft are a lot like pr It’s a lot like a presidential election, when a candidate announces their candidacy, there is a honeymoon phase where everyone thinks the said candidate will be so amazing and the 2nd coming of Lincoln.. “omg, he is so articulate, well dressed and has so much charisma and is so qualified.” But then the media and their opponents start doing their opposition research and they start nit picking every tiny thing and blow it up out of proportion. “Omg, he actually got drunk 25 years ago at a frat party!! He must have poor judgement, can we trust him with the nuclear codes?!?!” Same exact thing with QBs. A year ago I couldn’t stop hearing how Bryce Young was going to be a savior and the clear cut consensus no 1 overall pick without a doubt, but then as that gets closer to reality, people start taking a microscope and nit picking and now suddenly, he is way too short and way too risky to be a good NFL QB
  6. Time and time again I keep hearing people and fans say that tanking is only fan speak and players themselves don’t want to tank, are you sure though? I mean if we already had a franchise QB then I could definitely buy that argument. But let’s look at facts, players at the end of the day want to win championships and make a fug ton of money. Do you really think our WRs can do either if they don’t have a legit QB throwing to them?! Or what about a defense who is sick and tired of getting sick and tired of ALWAYS being on the field due to constant 3 and out drives on nearly every first offensive series?! If we didn’t have trash at QB and had a QB that knew how to sustain drives longer than one minute, then our D wouldn’t be on the field all the damn time getting exhausted and worn out by the 2nd qtr. Or how about RBs like Foremam who are asked to pound the rock heart every play, exhausting themselves and wearing down their bodies, hence shortening their careers because there isn’t a QB on the roster that can pass worth a poo. Ill say this, the bottom line is I’m a WR or a RB or a defensive player and I think we finally have a shot at legit franchise QB for the future by taking plays off and helping us lose in order to get said franchise QB, I’m thinking long and hard.
  7. Damn lions just can’t close the door on the pack, fully expect them to fold and Packers to win. We are going to have to purposely lose to them when we play them to snatch that no 2 spot from them.
  8. Lions packers still tied at 0 going toward half time. It doesn’t get mentioned at all but Green Bay is another team we have to worry about in the draft also, you have to think Rodgers will likely retire after this year and suddenly packers will need a QB, if they pick ahead of us they could very well eliminate another QB option for us
  9. Wow, Pinerio is quickly looking like our unsung hero after making us lose last week and protecting that draft position
  10. Short of Peppers, LT or a legit franchise QB, you always take two firsts for a player on your roster if and when offered. Such a missed opportunity
  11. I have to be honest, I’m re thinking my stance on Levis. He has his issues but the upside and intangibles are there. Besides that, we do play the Lions so we do kind of control our own draft destiny there
  12. As much as I hate to say this, I’m glad this is happening because Wilks just isn’t a great HC and we need a complete fresh start with an offensive mind and if Wilks some how ended up winning 6 games or so, not only do we fug our draft position but he would likely be hired full time meanwhile, Shane Steichen will go be a great coach somewhere
  13. Quinten Johnston is a 6’4 WR that runs a 4.4 and is drawing comparisons to Calvin Johnson lite, runs great routes, plays to his size and is considered a bonafide first rounder. Him paired with DJ Moore would go together like Peanut butter and chocolate, they would compliment each other perfectly plus finally giving us that big bodied red zone target we haven’t had since Olsen or even Benjamin (during his 1000 yd season that is) But here is where it gets interesting. His QB is Max Duggan and they both play for TCU. Duggan has the size and intangibles, he plays for the same college that Andy Dalton played for (for those of you that keep saying “such and such colleges don’t produce good QBs though”.) And he would be drafted along side his no 1 target WR and teammate in college Quinten Johnston where they already have great chemistry together and played together already for multiple seasons. Not only that but Duggan has improved in all categories that matter year after and has put up great numbers, he is pretty much a slightly younger Hendon Hooker with more upside.. see his stats below.
