  1. Lyon president has apparently said he'll accept no less than £36m for Lacazette.
  2. It makes sense, but I think we could squeeze £45m out of them. They are in desperate need of some squad revamping and adding young players should be at the top of their agenda.
  3. Sterling is very greedy. Liverpool won't balk at holding him hostage for 2 years on £30k/week. So, he can either sign his £100k/week contract or rot on the bench for 2 years and walk on a free. His call. Something tells me he'll take is £70k/week raise.
  4. "James Milner reportedly turning down £160,000/week at City to move to Arsenal." Man, how the fug are we supposed to compete when they can offer a squad/rotational player £160,000/week.
  5. I think it's going to take too significant a bid for Wenger to convince LFC to sell to a rival. Talking £30m+player or £45m. He's definitely not worth that, but I think we'll ask that of a rival. I think what we're going to see is similar to the Suarez situation. Sterling doesn't have a straight buyout in his contract, so he's going to be held hostage. He can either sign the £100k/week contract, or stay on £30k/week for another year.
  6. Ah, I thought one of those spots would go to Fair Play recipient, but apparently it just adds another spot. Prem could get 4 clubs into Europa.
  7. Ben Smith says he would have signed a new contract if a different manager were in place.
  8. Yea, I have. I think he would definitely help our midfield out tremendously. Still hope we focus primarily on striker, but I wouldn't be arsed at this signing.
  9. BR's European record is poo, that's definitely true. If he's still manager next year, he better learn to love it. Because like it or not, that's additional TV and match-day revenue and, like you said, a chance to qualify for UCL.
  10. Looks like Top 4 is pretty much set. I can't see Manchester City losing to Southy at home. At worst, I see a draw. 1) Chelsea 2) City 3) Arsenal 4) ManUre Liverpool could very well lose 5th place, and probably should have already by now. I think we get Europa regardless, due to Fair Play.
  11. Also- I, for one, am glad we have a new person frequenting this section. It could possibly help get rid of the "NASCAR" part of it, since it hasn't been used for NASCAR in quite some time. I hope more people come in and provide some discussion. What we don't need is twitter spamming with the same information from 9 sources or information from people who aren't sources at all. While you may think "we" don't know anything about Memphis Depay and we need to, I can assure that almost all of us know just about everything we need to know about Depay. Most of us scout all of Europe's top talent, regardless of if they are linked to our club. It's find to post a reputable rumor or even a definite transfer, but we don't need garbage rumors or 9 links to say a player signed with a club.
  12. I still think Bale could go for less than what you guys think. Real Madrid aren't in the business of making money on their transfers. If they can, great. If not, who cares. They need a scapegoat for the season, and many supporters are already pretty anti-Bale. I think Bale could be had for £65-70m.
  13. Seems De Gea has agree to personal terms with Madrid.
  14. Yea, I wasn't calling you out or anything. Just adding my opinions. Hel, I think it was the Telelgraph that said Liverpool were in for Pirlo lol.
  15. I do not think it is totally out of the realm of possibility that Gareth Bale makes the switch to Man U. If Man U can get PSG to pay for Di Maria, clear Falcao's wages, and ship Van Persie out, there will be more than enough room on the attack to fit Bale. Manchester United knows that the only reason they made Top 4 is because Liverpool fuged away the last part of the season. They can't risk that again next season. United, while they do carry a ton of debt, are still able to pass FFP and make these sorts of transfers because of the way they structure their debt and carry a large percentage outside of the club. Their kit deal alone would be enough to pay for the Bale transfer. Personally, I don't think it will take £85m to pull Bale away from The Bernabeu. Real Madrid are no strangers to squad retooling. They have had, by their standards, a disappointing season. It looks like they won't win any trophies this year. If they want a scapegoat, they have created it with Bale. If they ask £85m, they'll probably be told to fug off. Bale is NOT worth more than Luis Suarez. The only club he'd be worth more to is Real Madrid, and they already paid too much. Can't sell to themselves. Personally, I don't really think Bale will be sold. I'm just saying that completely ruling it out is probably irresponsible.
  16. You're definitely not alone in thinking that rule should be changed. I think it will ultimately be done away with in less than 5 years. It's pretty outdated at this point.
  17. If you are speaking about the away goals rule, it's just tradition at this point. Back when Champions League was first implemented, going on the road to another country to play in a hostile environment was a much bigger deal. Travel was much more difficult, so the governing body wanted to reward those clubs who had success on the road. There has been some talk in recent years about getting rid of the away goals rule. I honestly don't care either way. It's kind of a novel rule that gives some character to each tie.
  18. Bayern score early and it looks like it's on. Then Neymar scores.
  19. Hmm. It was Sky who reported they aren't interested. Only clubs with contact so far are City, Barca, and PSG.
  20. I'd say Barca more likely. Not sure where, but I remember reading Madrid weren't interested in Pogba.
  21. Manchester City are reportedly willing to pay £70m for Paul Pogba and make him the highest paid midfielder in the world with wages of £250k/week after tax.
  22. We started Rickie fuging Lambert, Glen Johnson, and played an academy player.
  23. Rodgers is staying. It's baseball season, so FSG isn't paying attention to LFC.
  24. Yep. When you have no playoffs, the key to finishing on top is staying healthy.
  25. As bad as we've been, we are only 4 points off 4th place. We shat the bed late, or we'd be over Man United right now. We are really only a few players away from really competing for top 4. We need a proven striker who can stay healthy, a DM, and probably another CB.
