Tony Barrett reported City's desire to sign Sterling had nothing to do with English quota. They wanted him regardless.
-
Lose Pendado and you guys will be in really good shape. I hate to admit it, but you're my Top 4 dark horse this year.
-
Lol Fabian Delph to City on again.
-
Oh, well. He'll either be really good or a disaster. £32.5m is a bit ridiculous.
-
Yea. Elche failed to pay taxes in consecutive years and even have outstanding wages for some of their players.
-
I bet Benteke deal is done this week. Sad, really. My issue with the whole thing is this...I think Benteke is a pretty decent striker. I also think he could be a darn good striker in our side. The issue is that I don't think Benteke is the best we can do now, and that's really indicative of our ambition. Seems Rodgers & Co. are keen to be a perennial head above mediocrity and maybe a top-4 flash in the pan from time to time.

QPR will receive nearly £10m of the transfer fee.
-
Looks like Sterling to City is done. £45m + £5m add-one. Ridiculous to offer Sterling higher wages than Aguero.
-
Yea, I was shocked to see he changed his mind. It's awesome to see a guy put his career over $$. Good for Delph.
-
Looks like Delph has turned down a big money move to Manchester City's bench. Says he wants to stay at Villa.
-
Yea, Sterling is a sheisty little fug not handing in a transfer request. He stands to make a ton of money and he's worried about a few million, which he would have already pocketed had he signed his £100k/week contract in January.
-
Uh, the Liverpool beat writer who Tony Barrett cites? Yea, I think I'll trust him over you're opinion.

Man City raise bid for wantaway Liverpool star Raheem Sterling to £44m. ( Paul Joyce )
-
They just bid again...
-
To me, give up means stop bidding, which they haven't done...
-
You literally said "City gave up on Sterling" which clearly is not even remotely close to the case.
-
City have now offered to £44m. But yea, they totally have no interest now that they've signed Fabian Delph.
-
They have already offered £40m while no other club has offered. Now they are furthering talks with LFC. City don't give a fug about price. You can pretend they do, but you'd be mistaken. Of course he's inconsistent. He's 20 years old being played out of position.
-
Delph isn't a starter either. City want Sterling for more than just he's English. Their interest in him is certainly not over. Roberto Firmino was £29m if he meets incentives. £22m + add-ons, £16m due up front, £6m due in 2016, and the add-ons due as they are achieved. Clyne was £12.5m and Gomez £3.5m. Ings will add like £6m to that, but his fee won't be due until well after the tribunal sets his valuation. FSG said before the window that BR had £50m to spend not dependent on Sterling being sold.
-
Cleverly, Barkley, Townsend, Austin, Bertrand, Berahino, and Kane would all be available to City for less than £45m. I can almost guarantee Sterling will be a City player next season. You don't bid £45m just to fill your homegrown quota if you can just go sign Fabian Delph for £8m. Makes absolutely no sense. Money we don't have? We haven't even spent £40m and less than £30m is due up front. City don't have the upper hand, because we don't really give a fug if we sell or not. Same situation as Suarez and Arsenal.
-
You don't bid £45m for a player because you need to fill your English quota. City are very high on Sterling and want him. Sky reported just today that City and Liverpool are meeting to discuss the Sterling situation. Think the deal can be done for £45m + add-ons.
-
Fabian Delph is a holding mid. Sterling is a forward. The Delph signing doesn't impact them bidding for Sterling.
-
Unless Higuain puts in a transfer request or someone offers an outrageous sum, he's going nowhere. Aurelio de Laurentiis fuging loves Higuain.
-
Manchester Evening News says City will not bid £50m for Sterling.

Raheem Sterling called in sick today, a day after asking not to be included in the preseason tour. No, really...he called in sick.
