Lol still doesn’t make sense. so let’s say everyone including the panthers know Houston wants bryce. If they call us to trade up to get him & we agree to even talk, that shows them we are not interested in bryce. So why would they give us anything to move while they can just wait? with all the assets we gave away, there is no way we like a QB but will give him away to take our 2nd choice for picks. That is not what Tepper or Fit indicated this whole offseason. They want the best & will do anything to get it hence trading up to 1. houston knows that…
-
I Don’t get this logic. so we tell Houston we want Bryce but we will give him to u for extra picks? Bahaha. We need a QB but we are willing to give away that QB we want to them even tho we are all competing in the same league? Texans are not that foolish, to give anything to move 1 spot. We will never give them the QB we want & they know that. So if we tell them give us something for Bryce, they will know we don’t want him & can just wait to pick him.

yes, I think he knew it was very bad deal for Carolina & he had no business making that money. There are 3 deals that FIT made during the Rhule era that should have never been made: Extending Robbie after we drafted Terrace. Fit fixed it after Rhule was gone. Extending Ian to 3yrs $16.5M...Fit just fixed it with a pay cut. Extending Donte Jackson 3yrs $35M...Fit needs to get Donte to take a big pay cut. I think Rhule forced all of these moves & now that he is gone, we are slowing fixing them.

CJ Stroud's dad may be a preacher but he is currently in Jail for "carjacking & kidnapping" and not eligible for parole until 2040. Let me be clear, That has nothing to do with CJ's character or his ability to be great on & off the field. But let's not bring up his dad's being a preacher as for a reason why Reich should/will pick him over others. I know the staff will pick the best player/person for the organization.

Most honest CJ Stroud film analysis!!
Ivory Panther replied to Ivory Panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
I don't think there is a QB coming out that is calmer than Bryce in the pocket. That is literally one of the thing EVERYBODY agrees on that he is uncannily calm under major pressure. Not saying that you are saying otherwise, but wanted to point that out. -

so since u r using a word like “probably” it means u r guessing he is faster as much as I’m guessing is not. but somehow my take is “ignorant” according to u. Lol if CJ could run 4.6 like u r suggesting, he would have ran at the combine. Why would he withhold an asset? Come on man, be real. by the way Carr ran 4.67. Goff ran 4.8… -

Goff was traded along with a 1st round & more by a team who wanted to win a Super Bowl. The team then won the superbowl IMMEDIATELY after! My point is CJ will be good. Carolina will be very respectable as a team. Our best chance to win will be under his rookie deal. Because after we pay him like these other teams did for GOFF/CARR we will be mediocre & try to unload him like they did. -

I one hundred percent disagree that CJ is more athletic than CARR/COUSINS/GOFF. there is a reason he declined running at the combine. -

Players like CJ/CARR/GOFF/COUSINS are frustrating. they have the tangible that most ppl can see (accuracy) & decent mobility. but when it comes down to it, they are only as good as the ppl around them. they do just enough to be paid top 10 money but play like top 20 depending on their cast. problem is after paying them, u can’t put a good cast together, so mediocrity soon follow. -

I agree with that. When everything is clean around him, he is so accurate that he will dice u up. But, outside of GA, the minute there is a little pressure (not even a lot) he is below average. that to me is GOFF/CARR/COUSINS like… -
I have watched a lot of videos analysis on CJ Stroud & this is the most honest & accurate I’ve seen so far.

It's Stroud and it shouldn't even be close
Ivory Panther replied to NAS's topic in Carolina Panthers
I disagree. The knock on stroud is he doesn’t handle pressure well. He is good when everything is on schedule/perfect. numbers show he was the worst against the blitz. -
I hear u. I believe the value of combine & pro day for QBs is getting to talk & interact with the prospect. Other than that the throwing portion is pretty meaningless…most QBs can make most throws without pressure in their face & wide open WR. i doubt there is anything at the workout that will drastically change their views at Young pro day. But I could be wrong.
-
I don’t believe they made the move because of what they saw from CJ. at the combine. Reports are that CHI wanted the deal done b4 free agency so they knew what they needed to focus spending on in free agency. & now that they took DJ, it makes sense. CHI now spend money at other position. I believe when it’s all said & done, Bryce is too smart for coaches not to want him. They will pick him.
-
I wholeheartedly disagree! Bryce carved a better GA team in 2021 & win their 1st match up. that 2021 GA Defense was absolutely better than this year.
-
Hasn’t been an issue in the SEC, I don’t see that changing. batted balls have more to do with speed of delivery & staring down target than height. height issue is can u see the middle of the field. Bryce film & stats show he is actually very efficient in the middle of the field.
-
For the record, he got “steamed rolled” by 300pounds linemen in the SEC many many time & was fine. the idea that 1 hit in the NFL will break him is ludicrous…
-
Ok, give me the “mountain of evidence & case study” where size was an issue for QB as far as durability in recent years with the rules change.
-
Yup, I agree that if CJ didn’t play against GA, he would have been available at 9.
-
Not sure what I’m cherry picking. Size is not a concern for me. Cherry picking would be size is an issue for me but I chose not to bring it up…
-
I don’t see size as a flaw for a QB in todays NFL. That’s why Bryce is my top QB. The rules protect QBs too much. but I understand the argument for ppl who think he should be a big deal.
-
I don’t care for pitch & catch against air. processing defenses is what’s important for top 5 QBs. to me QB throw at the combine is similar to WR run the 40. Being fast is needed but can u run routes, can u consistently beat ur defender & catch the ball? combine is 1 of the tool teams use to evaluate but good teams understand it’s just a small part of the evaluation.
-
That 2021 GA defense is considered the best of all time by many. Bryce played them as a 1st year starter in 2021 in basically back to back games & put up these very respectable numbers. Especially when both INT came in the second game after GA got more tape on him. while this yr version of GA defense (the one CJ played) was very good, it wasn’t as good last year.
-
That was the GA game. The very game I said “if u take that game away, do u still put him above bryce”.
