No need for a fiery half-time speech. Just show this to the locker room
-
There has been 3 announcers that have independently said when watching our games 'What is the QB to do here?' with his porous o-line, and WRs that can't separate at the top of his drop. QB School YT series has gone at length echoing the same sentiments, and showing how Bryce throws with 'A' anticipation - out of necessity. I trust these analysts more than your independent observations. No QB is going to be successful in this environment.

I couldn't hear the announcers - why did we have to re-kick the FG after it was made, and it was offsides on Houston? It triggered the f out of me. Why does it always seem like we don't get these 4th quarter calls?

Thomas Brown first game calling plays...
Cornflake replied to CamWhoaaCam's topic in Carolina Panthers
I don't think even Andy Reid is getting 20+ consistently with this roster. We need more speed and a better O. Ickey getting beat like a drum way too often. I think Brown did as well as one could hope for. Him and Bryce are bright spots. -
Yes, we absolutely can. Their situation is not the same as ours.

Scheme and supporting casts matter a lot in this league. Our guards being injured is really haunting our O this season. I am reserving judgement on Bryce, but holy fk our conservative offense is boring af to watch. I'd rather him sling it and turn the ball over and learn then having the play calling we had for PJ Walker pre-Atlanta game that indicates you have ZERO faith in the guy at QB.

Panthers Really Lost to This Falcons Team SMH....
Cornflake replied to Castavar's topic in Carolina Panthers
We had 1st round investments that hit in DJ Moore, and McCaffrey. Our QB is a rookie who has no support. Even when Cam inherited a team who legit got the 1st overall pick from SUCKING and now trading up - even that dumpster team had Greg Olsen, Shockey, DeAngelo Williams, J.Stewart and Steve Smith. Our team is ass. Rhule/Reich have nothing to do with it. -
That first drive (besides the failed 4th &1 convert) was a thing of beauty... I think it gave me unrealistic expectations on what to expect the rest of the game. Hope to see more of those flashes.

The Athletic talks about who our OC could be as of now……
Cornflake replied to WarPanthers89's topic in Carolina Panthers
Idk, I think that characterization of his offence is unfair.. It was done out of necessity rather than philosophically. Personnel matters, and Detroit's o-line could not get push. I wouldn't dismiss him as a candidate due to their struggles running the ball. -
Pretty sure Shi was hand picked by Rhule from when he coached him in the Senior Bowl. I don't love the guy either, but lets simmer down on blaming EVERYTHING on him lmao. TMJ was probably a Joe Brady nudge.

This game was up there for me.

I can only really comment on McAdoo & Wilks... 8.5/10 Wilks has a good reputation and I'm happy to have him here. Much like our old RB coach Skipper, Wilks really connects with his players. To that point - CJ Henderson has been getting a lot of acknowledgement this camp on looking rejuvenated and performing like a 1st rounder - CJ has credited his relationship with Wilks for this second wind. I think this is the best DB group we've ever had and I'm excited to see what he and Phil Snow can do with it. McAdoo being the former HC of the Giants... a team I remember very well playing vs our Panthers during their prime run, and I recall watching their o-line get absolutely decimated on every snap. It was like watching a Canadian High School football team vs Alabama. Literally on every play our D-line pushing their O-line INTO Manning for sack after sack... I think being a HC during that type of adversity (much like our previous season with the 31st ranked o-line) puts us ahead of where Joe Brady could ever have been prepared for going into his 3rd season. I've heard he has a good offensive mind.. I'm excited to see what he can do with a much better roster and what should be at least a middle of the pack o-line this time around. I've been a panthers fan since '05.... and much like those '05l '08, '13, '18 teams.... this one feels special.

His first year was quite impressive, actually. The second year was such a catastrophe that I can understand a loss in confidence, but NO ONE and no coach is going to look good with the 31st ranked O-line. I will reserve judgement for this year. At the end of the day, regardless of potential over loyalty to veterans etc. You are not in the building. I trust the O-line Coach, O-Coordinator, and HC's opinions on starting line-ups than die-hard fan on a forums opinion. Keep Pounding.

Its the 7th round man... who cares? Kid ran a 4.28? Had some production in school.. what is not to like? Go outside and touch some grass, the Rhule hate is too excessive.

I put a lot of stock into what Simm's says and I really like how he breaks it down. I bought a lot into the negative hype around this year's QB class, but I would be thrilled with Corral or Pickett now. It would be nice to be competitive again. I think we are a QB away.

Observation: Panthers want to Draft a QB but...
Cornflake replied to Doc Holiday's topic in Carolina Panthers
How do you figure? The consensus of it being a "weak" class is not the same as it not having 1st round worthy players. Corral, Pickett are worthy of a top 10-15 pick no question. The depth is not deep this class at the position, but there are some good QBs in this class, make no mistake. -
I think the huddle has some amnesia? I thought he was a really solid player for us... surprised to see him go... not a fan of the decision.
-
I think we looked like the better team at the half. 3rd Quarter was ugly.. I think they dialed up the pressure and all our WR routes were taking wayy to long to develop. I think we've proven that we are legit. Couple O-line pieces away from being real contenders.

My new favorite hobby is watching Rich Eisen, Mike Greenberg, and every other Jet fan in the media just sulk in the reality that their franchise put Darnold out on the street, and the results he is having away from them.

I was stuck having to watch the Colts announcers... I'd like to know what tidbits Smitty shared if someone is willing to summarize.
