Sucks for him and the Jets. He had been the defensive star of their camp, and he was going to present a major challenge Week 1. Hopefully it's not too bad and he can come back after our game -
Carolina Panthers - Baltimore Ravens Joint Practice 2

Here's the thing... who do you feel more confident blocking Carl Lawson (who has had a great camp and is along with Burns one of the most underrated edge rushers in the league) with in week 1? And Cam Jordan in week 2? And JPP/Shaq Barrett/Chase Young/Mathew Judon/Jerry Hughes/etc in the following weeks? We've got some really good pass rushers on the schedule this year... Cam Erving ain't the guy that will get it done The only solution IMO is to put Moton at LT or trade for someone else -

I had tried to block it out of my mind... wasn't he the one who gave up that ridiculous pass Matt Ryan lofted up at the end of the game and all he had to do was not get beat deep for us to win? -

Hoping we made out on Nixon in the 5th like Atlanta did with Grady Jarrett in the 5th... absolute steal -

Yep. Might as well have been a banner of Lenin or Stalin... I laughed and cringed so hard at Vicotin Boy hanging from the rafters -
I wouldn't want to break the bank, but Robby's agent can easily make the argument he is worth $15M per year given where the market is. I know WR has been neglected here a lot time, but securing Robby, DJ, and TMJ for the next few years doesn't seem to have a downside, and I think the cap space is there to make it happen without handicapping us.

What could have been had we signed Whitworth instead of the Matt Kalil debacle. As an aside, I stood right beside Whitworth holding a giant American flag for the season opener in 2019. He had more grey in his beard than I did which was striking... Also Sean McVay had a harem of young women visiting with his Napolean-sized ass before the game. This was right after their SB appearance so he had his pick of LA's finest and most plastic

Exactly. No getting around that Andrew Whitworth was an anomaly... I would rather us resign Okung than dump draft or trade capital into something that still might not work out If that's where the team is at (not trusting Erving and how can you blame them), why not get some more run with Moton at LT and Christensen at RT and see if that can be a solution

https://twitter.com/i/status/1428033871308808202 @OmarKelly Greg Little on his first team portion of practice and it’s a false start on him.

Carolina Panthers - Baltimore Ravens Joint Practice 1

This is a completely accurate take on the 2015 Training Camp and preseason. The Newton/Norman fight became almost a mythological symbol of that TC bc both went on to have incredible seasons, and it's easy to see that as a defining moment in retrospect. But at the time it was indicative of a team about to fall apart. Every season takes on a life of its own. No one truly knows until it unfolds. This team has too many question marks to project them being a contender But there is also an incredible amount of young talent that could surprise the league if the chips fall right -

The Dolphins, and especially Suh at the time, shat all over the Panthers during joint practices and how the Dolphins had to tone it back. The Dolphins beat writers were quasi-crowning them during the practices on Twitter and talking about how the Panthers couldn't match the physicality... Then a couple of months later Cam and the rest of the gang demolished them on MNF... So yeah that absolutely happened -

Thank you People freaking out after our 2nd string (and especially the rookies) looked good against an 11 win team on Sunday. Gotta chill a little bit -
It's best for him and the team. Like you said, he gets to rehab and get paid, and the Panthers get to take a flyer and see if he can come back and crack the roster next year. I'd say it's doubtful, but you never know
-
I wonder if this is a further indication Rhule is coming around on Moton/Christensen LT/RT combo... Cause as much as love this team, going into the season with Cam Erving and Trent Scott as our LT's is absolute malfeasance...

One of the worst draft picks in Panthers history... thank God Hurney wasn't able to trade back into the 1st round to get him and waste yet another pick...

You could be right, but I don't think so personally b/c for all his flaws, Ian Thomas is light years more talented than Colin Thompson. I doubt Thomas is resigned after this year, but I would be shocked if the coaching staff cut Thomas. He didn't even play against the Colts, which makes me think Thomas is considered enough of a "starter" that his roster spot is in jeopardy. Ian Thomas is a physical specimen, and those don't grow on trees. I'm not saying Ian Thomas is the guy, but Colin Thompson was on the roster last year b/c we lacked talent, not b/c he should be on an accomplished NFL roster

Why Isn't Anyone Talking About Kenny Robinson?
Seltzer replied to Proudiddy's topic in Carolina Panthers
I guess there a decent chance with the LB group looking thin and Chinn potentially having to play quite a few snaps there. The coaching staff may choose to keep 4 more traditional safeties which would be good news for Robinson and Chandler. -

I think Robinson has a legit chance of making the team. Chinn and Burris are locks. Sam Franklin played well last year and I'd be surprised if he doesn't make it. Think the final spot comes down to Sean Chandler or Kenny Robinson (unless they keep 5 safeties) -
53 Man Roster Projection After Preseason Game One
Seltzer replied to Seltzer's topic in Carolina Panthers
Agree. Hopefully they can stash him on the practice squad but I wouldn't be surprised to see him get picked up somewhere, hopefully not with the Saints since their WR corp right now is trash -
He had some good reps out there, albeit against mostly undrafted guys. Can only see him making the roster though if the coaches choose him over a pure pass rusher like Christian Miller to have more interior guys.

53 Man Roster Projection After Preseason Game One

Have to IMO... this offense has the firepower to light up the scoreboard... got to do something b/c Erving has never been able to stay healthy, and Trent Scott and Greg Little look awful. Unless the plan really is to move Moton to LT, it has to be done. -

His reads looked good but that's where the comparisons end unless you're looking for Luke that runs like he has a piano on his back... -
53 Man Roster Projection After Preseason Game One
Seltzer replied to Seltzer's topic in Carolina Panthers
You would think, but he was near the end of the rotation today and for all of camp as best I can tell. He was a nice story last year, especially for his versatility, it seems like he is on the outside looking in unless something changes. Maybe he makes the initial roster while Bouye is suspended since he can play nickle over STO or Taylor. -

No doubt... they didn't look egregiously bad today, but they didn't look great either. We have been spoiled with great LB for most of team history. My hope is just that they can do their part in what is hopefully a dangerous defensive line and much improved secondary. And be better than last year, when like Smitty said, having Whitehead out there was no better than having 10 men on defense.
