No. That defense was getting absolutely dominated from the first snap. Caleb Williams just threw for 92 yards and his team won the game. Do not get it twisted, the defense was fuging horrific.

I think you’re exactly right. His 2021 tape the ball has some pretty noticeable zip. Doesn’t look the same 2022 and beyond. I will say from camp videos and the few plays of preseason his arm might look a little more lively than last year. -
I don’t know for certain but I know a little ball, and I would be extremely surprised if it wasn’t. I do know for certain Thielen was higher on the progression than Johnson. And so should you.

Any competent QB is taking the wide open 25 yard chunk, and never even looking at Johnson on the backside. The read is there it’s wide open you take it, no questions asked. You don’t look off a wide open primary read to check further into the progression

Plays have progressions. Thielen was his first read obviously, you’re not looking anywhere else if your first read is wide open.
