  1. Will Palaszczuk @WilliePStyle · 13h Been talking to some people with the #Panthers on the defensive side of the field since it’s hard to keep up with both practicing simulataneously. Jaycee Horn has looked really good today, as has Shaq. Pass rush has been humbled a bit and the lack of numbers at LB is glaring.
  2. Nice video summary of 1 on 1s wr/db. Checkout the 2:30 mark. If I didn't know any better, I'd say that was a Panther fan in the background hiding his excitement after a Djax pass breakup.
  3. Yup. Since Moton is seeing reps at left and our LT is already showing signs of injury, seems likely.
  4. Ooh, I like that one. Saving. Out of pie, sorry. "Pie"
  5. They overperformed last year with a quick release. On paper, it looked worse than any Cam ever had. Yet we were top 10 in pass pro. Run grade is a different matter, so a little below average overall. Now maybe it was a fluke, or maybe they know what their doing. I guess we'll see.
  6. You're 100% correct. Its prickly here already with the, "this is exactly what we predicted" crap in the first preseason practice.
  7. That was Marty. Tepper:"You look at successful organizations, and there's a certain alignment between the head coach and the GM," Tepper said. "To think that you can do that without some sort of alignment is nuts. So to not have a head coach with some input into that is stupid. I don't want to be stupid, OK?" Carolina Panthers fire general manager Marty Hurney (espn.com) It is clear from this statement that Marty was NOT listening to Rhule, in fact Rhule didn't even have "some input into that ". Marty was fired. Then Teddy. Agreed. We all do.
  8. Yeah the Vikings game was as much on Brady as it was on Teddy or Slye. That clusterfk was group effort.
  9. Yup. Horn is going to take some lumps. They won't underestimate Burns again. If Darnold gets the ball out as fast as Teddy, the oline will perform like last year since Scott, Little and Daley were LT half the season, including the Packers, Chiefs and most of our wins. We were top 10 in pass pro. Run game is another story, and they see something in Erving and Elfein that fills some need for the wide zone blocking. They can coach linemen up: Trent Scott, Chargers UDFA pff of 49.4 in 2019 moved to 60.2 in 2020 with Rhule. Pat Elflein, 3rd Rnder Jets pff of 48.0 in 2020 will move to __ in 2021? Cam Erving, 1st Rnder Dalla pff of 58.0 in 2020 will move to __ in 2021?
  10. Fair. There was no QB coach at the jets. So between actually BEING coached and the new scheme and weapons, I'm hoping for a step change. Tepper isn't patient, but sometimes he doubles down. In hard knocks he talks about how he lost money in the great recession, but he doubled down and bought at the bottom. "I'd rather be lucky than smart." or something like that. Tepper just doubled down on Rhule when he fired Marty. "You look at successful organizations, and there's a certain alignment between the head coach and the GM," Tepper said. "To think that you can do that without some sort of alignment is nuts. So to not have a head coach with some input into that is stupid. I don't want to be stupid, OK?" Reports were Rhule wanted to trade down last year. Sure enough, with Marty gone, we set the franchise record for trading down and trading in general. Marty probably did not want to admit Teddy's contract was a mistake and wanted to give Teddy another year. Marty left. Then Teddy. Tepper is all in on Rhule. He may cut his losses short. He may double down.
  11. "I can see. I can see!" Is there a problem officer?
  12. I never considered it but now that you said something, that would be cool.
  13. Whew. Thank God. Had me worried there for a second.
  14. The schedule gets harder as we get better. We will probably lose a couple everyone thinks is in the bag, and win a couple everyone thinks is out of reach. I just want the Bucs. f k TB, both him and the team. Their fans are insufferable atm.
  15. Yup. Rhule said he didn't see the D, he'll watch the tape tonight. I'm sure Horn is taking his lumps.
  16. Huddle "experts": See I told you we were going to suck when KB went down. Damn it RR, damn it Gettleman. I know more than them. This is confirming whatever I've been posting on the huddle for the last six months ad nauseum.
  17. Dolphins Look Good During First Joint Practice With Panthers – CBS Miami (cbslocal.com) The Miami Dolphins took the field at Wofford College on Wednesday for the first of two joint practices with the Carolina Panthers.... Quarterback Ryan Tannehill picked up where he left off in Davie, completing passes with great accuracy and velocity at a very consistent rate. Miami’s offensive line seemed to hold up well against Carolina’s very strong defensive front, which is extremely encouraging. Both the first and second team offense moved the ball well during team drills. Chris McCain continued to work with the first team linebackers and came away with an interception on a ball that was jarred loose from the receiver thanks to a big hit by safety Louis Delmas. Some good news from the Dolphins defense is that they were just as dominant against Carolina as they have been during training camp. Ndamukong Suh and Cameron Wake could not be stopped, whether it was during team drills or 1-on-1s. Wake also showed off his hands, intercepting Cam Newton at the line of scrimmage. --August 19, 2015 Panthers 15-1 Dolphins 6-10
  18. Oh good catch. So they're talking about how it's live and the question was, how can you evaluate o and d line when it isn't live... and he says it is what it is. Your post implied he was referring to our performance, not that its hard to gauge the oline/dline when we are restricted from live hits. It is what it is dude. League rules. What did you want him to say there?
  19. I agree, which is exactly why we are doing this. If we can compete with this 11-5 playoff team, we will be in really good shape. We are watching tape and learning now, and I guarantee you the O won't come in slow tomorrow.
