Ok? Apparently someone's mad at PJ.

Yeah, it doesn't sound like the self moderato is a good plan. I really just think some of this is going to cure itself. Take today for instance. The o-line bitching is way down. Probably the lowest since I've been a member in May. This thread may be part of it, but I think yesterday's game did too. I'm also beating them over the head with the stats from yesterday. We can't tone down the bitching ourselves, and probably shouldn't. Let the O-line and Darnold do it. Maybe Zod is right, yet again. Winning does cure all.

I can see where it can seem weird. I honestly wouldn't have given Darnold another look had we not traded for him. I thought wtf are they doing? When we had Darnold, and Fields was there at 8 I thought for sure we'd take Fields. Darnold was insurance in case no good QB's fell. Nope, they rode with Darnold. So then after it was official we're rolling this guy, I thought I'd dig into it a little bit. I started with highlights, but then watched some games. The guy has talent, and most people agree on that. There were flashes in most games. So I figured I'd do a look into just how bad the jets were, outside the QB. That's when I realized that Fit and Rhule were on to something. When you have one of the worst o-lines in the league, with one of the highest pressure %, shortest unpressured pocket time, receivers with the dropsies who can't get separation, franchise-record-low run game, no QB coach, and literally have trouble snapping the ball, it became apparent that Darnold was carrying too much with that team. In three years he missed several games for injury and illness. They didn't win ONE game he missed. Not one. That's when I joined the "give Darnold a chance" club. Some people aren't going to switch until we're winning. That's fine.

I know right? But that just doesn't fit the narrative that our o-linemen are trash and we didn't draft any decent o-linemen.

LOL I know it's 2021 and clear skies and they can't figure out how to broadcast an away game. My dvr didn't even show it on the WSOC schedule. It got taped under the soccer and WNBA titles.

“We think he’s an option for us at right tackle”
SBBlue replied to ncfan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yeah. It looks like we are going to try to ease into this thing until someone inevitably goes down. If its Erving, Moton swings left, if its Moton, BC steps up. Until then we drill him on the new side of the line, get him his reps, build his confidence. With Scott having a bad day Sunday, it gives even more credence to the Moton left scenario. -
Between the green screen, blocky dial-up modemish freezes, and the international soccer, I about lost it. I switched to watch on Panthers.com.

Its funny, I was in an argument on another thread where someone was trying to convince me that Deonte got beat on that play. People see what they want to see sometimes.
-
Imagine how things will look if the change at QB works out as well. Awesome OP.

BC wasn't perfect, he gave up 2 pressures that I saw. One on the PJ to Tremble touchdown play. I think there's potential there that we can work with. Easing him in like we did Moton is the right thing to do. He'll play when he's ready.

LOL. Oh no no....apparently just this thread. The line-whine crew apparently doesn't want to post on this thread... wonder why. Its funny, the very people who run around saying how important the linemen are, spend the most time trashing our linemen. When our linemen do well, you would expect them to celebrate the progress on the line. Instead of kudos, they go silent. They aren't oline experts. They are assholes.

Great post. Hope this works out.

No apologies needed. All threads are rail-less here apparently.

He didn't. He just likes to pretend he knows more about football than everyone.

So our starters are "bum ass"? Cmc is "bum ass"? Brian Burns is "bum ass"? Derrick Brown is "bum ass"? Projecting are we?

Panthers WR Terrace Marshall Jr. after debut: ‘I feel comfortable’ (usatoday.com) " Marshall finished with a game-high 88 receiving yards on three catches, including an electric 60-yard catch-and-run, in the preseason opener against the Indianapolis Colts and said his transition to Carolina has gone smoothly.... “I feel comfortable, for the most part, in the game,” Marshall said to reporters after the 21-18 loss. “I’m playing football, so I’m definitely in my element. I’m just gonna build off today, the experience I got so far. So I just try to keep climbing.” "

I wonder what the world would look like if RR had rested our starters in the 2019 preseason against the Pats.

He looks tired and pissed. The offsides penalties were maddening. On the set of 3 offsides, after the first one, we should have went to on first sound, or on the snap. The block in the back call was bullshit.

"Rhule says he thinks Panthers left Indy "significantly better" than when they arrived." It seems like it. I'm looking forward to this week. Go Panthers!

Roster Stock Report: Pre-season week 1 - The4ManRush Hoskins was the highest riser on Sunday. He successfully beat his blocker when in a 1-on-1 situation consistently. To adjust for this, the Colts tried to double team him and get him off the spot, and Hoskins did not give up much ground. He defeated block attempts with his hands and footwork, which other interior d-linemen did not display in Sunday’s game. Hoskins should shoot up the depth chart if he can carry this momentum.
