I think we let up on the gas a bit in the second half of the Jets game, maybe in part to trap the saints. The starters, including Darnold, didn't play much preseason, so the first game was also sort of our preseason. Mike Lafleur should not be an OC. He looks like he's 12 and out of his depth. Douglas traded Darnold, gave away Robbie, and Luvu, and chooses whatever is popular with the armchair GMs . He should be canned. They are looking at top 3 pick AGAIN. They passed on DJ Moore, CMC, Burns, Rhule (and Snow),Darnold, Robbie and Luvu. They really need new owners.

Sorry, I thought you were referring to Tremble in the 3rd. Olsen's first year he had 540 yards and caught only 50% of his targets. Unless Sam falls to earth, he is looking much better than Olsen did his first year with us.

Considering Tremble has had 1 target which he caught for 30 yards, and 1 rush for a 7 yard touchdown, I think comparing him to Olsen is very premature. He did return 1 kick from the Jets for 21 yards. That's it. No other targets or rushes, the rest is blocking, which hasn't been perfect, but has been pretty good overall and if go you and watch Sam's goalline push TD, the pile doesn't move until Tremble gets involved. Olsen was originally a 1st rounder reclamation project who's numbers were in decline when we traded. We'll see more of Tremble, but I REALLY like what I've seen so far.

Some people looked to him as a Cam-esqe QB... a mobile, dynamic QB. Cam had a better first game. Fields will just never come close to Cam.

It is ironic that Rhule was a key factor for Marty being gone. I will forever be grateful to Rhule for that alone. Tepper's and Marty's actions indicate this was their guy before the interview though. They were prepared to make an offer immediately, they traveled to his house to jump the schedule, they carried in his luggage. You don't do that if you're slightly interested. A couple questions in just confirmed what they already knew. Rhule was the guy.

Yup. Tepper was so afraid that Rhule would take the Giants job he went to his house where he waited for him to come from vacation from Baylor's bowl game. He helped him carry in his luggage. After a few questions they went into full on recruiting. Rhule grew in up in NY.

In the draft I wanted a QB in the first and an OL in the second. So the Bears followed my draftboard. They took a QB (Fields) in the 1st and a OT (Tevin Jekins) in the 2nd. In fact we passed on Tevin and traded the pick to the Bears. The Bears had 47 yards of offense today against the Browns and fell to 1-2. The Jets drafted a QB and a Guard in the first this year and a tackle the first round last year, they are 0-2. I'm glad I'm not our GM.

If they are serious about actually getting Sherman, I have a few thoughts 1) It won't be a one year prove it and it won't be cheap. His other suitors are much more attractive. 2) If its a mult-year deal, that DB room will be crowded. Foot injuries can derail careers. I'm wondering if this means anything about their thoughts on Horn's long term prognosis. 3)Sherman isn't that fast, but he is VERY aggressive and somehow manages to stay with the wr. He will be an awesome mentor for that DB group, especially Keith Taylor who doesn't have the elite speed either, but has good man coverage skills. 4)This is a Marty Hurney "we're just one man away" move. Did they watch our D decimate the Saints and think that we could make a deep push in the playoffs? This is not a "we are still in rebuild" move.

As much as I love CMC, the loss of Horn is soo much worse. Keith Taylor is a good corner, a real steal in the 5th, but he is not Horn. They will be picking on him. Losing your first rounder in game 3 for the season this is going to hurt.

If Horn allowed us to play man coverage and that was essential to giving the line time to get to the QB...the question becomes.... Can we still play man coverage? Because we didn't on Thursday. Could Horn's injury change the course of the season?

I love Cam, but No. Its not the personnel, its the play calling. Chuba up the gut on 4-1 when they are in goalline...its like Brady just wanted to be stopped.

I'm the one defending them because the first two games they were decent against excellent fronts. This week, the line did not do well. Some people want to just say they are trash all the time. They were not the first 2 games. They did not do well last night. My question is, if ours are that low, wth does theirs's look like?
