Crimany I meant Fletcher. My bad. Keep an eye on me. Apparently I need to step away from the computer for a little bit.

How much of the Jets performance was really on Darnold?
SBBlue replied to SBBlue's topic in Carolina Panthers
We have 10 games against teams with losing records last year and apparently people are expecting Dallas, Pats and Vikings to become winners. Winning 7 of those games seems very reasonable. The Saints might revert with the player losses they had, maybe we can pick up one there. Last year the mark was 5.5, we ended with 5. Now the mark is 7.5...7 seems right, but being a fan, I have to go with 8. -

Well, I looked it up...you're right the jets are real good at ruining Qbs. I think Darnold is going to play better than he did with Jets...since there will actually be olinemen, and receivers without the dropsies, and a running back who wasn't pulled off his couch...and an OC who can spell OC, and we can snap the ball. -

sorry I missed the QB my bad.... Wow, way to narrow it down. I hope you're around here come fall. I really really do. -
Barring injury, by end of season, Christiansen will be starting somewhere on that line.

We've won the NFC and been to the Superbowl. We've had several playoff appearances and wins.... They are the team with the longest playoff drought at the moment...so we are the better team...at this moment. I don't care that they were 10-6 in 2015. We were 15-1. They just went through an overhaul so they are not the same jets as last year. We just went through an upgrade, so neither are we. When is week 1? -

Uhhhh Robbie Anderson? -
Wild guess, we have 3 starters and 1 ST guy...so 3.5 starters? Horn (day 1), Tremble, Christensen (probably guard), and Lawrence (day1) are starters by end of season. Marshall (along with Arnold) will be pulled in the moment we hit the red zone for the jump balls. Taylor will go in the cornerback rotation ...remember Bouye is suspended the first SIX games. By end of year Taylor will have numbers similar to Elder, which was 39% of snaps. Shi will probably have Pharoh Cooper like numbers 13%. Dixon will have Kerr like numbers... 30% of snaps. Deonte Brown and Phil Hoskins, I just don't see them playing much.

Rhule beat Ron last year. Fit is finessing the draft while Hurney is looking for his lost car keys.
-
Stop. You're making me tear up. Cam at his peak. He truly was superman.

Hurneymagic!

Both Shi and Taylor were senior bowl standouts. Rhule said something like, "I just love coaching that kid." Rhule just rocks.

One GM did get fired. The new one who let Robbie go and traded Darnold for a future 2nd and change is still there. I hope those two make him rethink that week 1. -
I agree with this. I want more blitzing schemes. With blitz you want press man coverage which we weren't good at... with Horn and pro-bowler Bouye added, I think we now have the talent to press. We are going to see more blitz packages.
-
We were mediocre last year and barring injury, looks like mediocre again. Moton is one of the better olineman in the league. If Christensen starts anywhere, there will be rookie mistakes. Rhule's interest in Tremble as a blocking tightend/h-back has me wondering. I bet Tremble stays in a good portion of the time for pass protection. Rhule cannot be that excited about his catching.

I got pooed on that thread too, for saying Le'veon Bell performance contributed to the problem. One thing for Darnold, he never attacked anyone or made excuses as far as I can tell. He didn't play well but it wasn't all his fault....but as far as I can tell...he never said it. Looks like a stand up guy. -
please let it happen again...please let it happen again.

I think the owner was like an ambassador to the UK or something. I don't think anyone is minding the store. -

There's another thread talking about Bell throwing shade on Gase which touched on how much this is Gase's fault. When you see crap in all phases of the game like we saw in the jets, that's coaching. No doubt. But the GM hired him, who also traded away the jets future to move up a couple spots to get Darnold...and then whiffed on draft pick after draft pick...until all of their 1st rounders are no longer on the team. They lost out on Rhule because they wanted to do the assistant coaching decisions...cause you know.... they're so good at coaching picks. When they went to replace the GM, the owner passed on Fit.... and the new GM gifts us Robbie and trades Darnold. I hope we blast the living daylights out the jets week1 and they sit and wonder what might have been. -
Every 1st play on O, run up the gut....no yards cloud of dust. My children caught on.
-
That too. He is the only player we traded up to get. I assume he was at the shelf. In fact they are talking about drafting oline earlier before they traded down again (22:45 mark), so they took a risk trading down and almost got burned.
-
I assume 2-3 times a game is to exaggerate the point. He didn't do that with the jets while running for his life. His interceptions were nowhere near 2 a game. That's Jameis Winston.
-
Of course I would. That said, Christensen had the lowest pressure rate in the nation .8%. His RAS was awesome. He's athletic and he's got the tape Why wasn't he the number 1 OT? Competition, wingspan, age. Zack Wilson faced the same competition, drafted 3 overall. So wingspan and age? I think they tried to moneyball this and thought they have a diamond in the rough in Christensen, so they could trade down to get Marshal, Tremble, and co. I think Tepper agrees with you with the value in the position...he seemed really happy to get Christiansen.
