The Eagles have a top 10 defense in terms of yards, and top 3 in terms of passing yards. We were down our LG and LT, so we moved our RT to LT and had a 3rd round rookie have his first NFL start at RT. We were out our starting safety and linebacker, oh, and did I mention that our biggest offensive weapon, that about 60% of our offense runs through, was out? And still we would have won if we had just played a little better. Lets see who is healthy this Sunday.

This was my prediction in the preseason. Then came the Saints blowout and I thought we looked like a playoff team. Then we lost Burris, Horn, CMC, Shaq, Elflein, Erving, and Arnold. We lost 2 games. We have replaced Horn, and the other injures are not season ending. Lets see if that team we saw in the Saints game returns. We've lost one we were supposed to win. I'm thinking we might win one we're supposed to lose.

I agree with some of you points on whether we are playoff team. However, it is a myth that Time to Throw is directly correlated with Intended Air Yards, as if the height and speed of the ball for every throw is the same. It is not. Ball placement and TT are simply not linearly aligned. Tom Brady has the 3rd shortest time to throw, but the 10th highest in intended air yards per attempt at 9.1. That is theoretically impossible assuming that it takes longer to throw longer. It does not. If you throw a touch higher you can throw earlier with just enough air time for the wr to get there. The challenge is if you loft too much, defenders have time to get there too, so you have to lead the receiver so that he is full speed when he meets the ball.

Very Discouraged By Rhule and His Comments After the Game

Well hopefully he won't put the interceptions, penalties and blocked punts in the playbook for the second half this week. -
Very Discouraged By Rhule and His Comments After the Game

"I really think you know you guys have asked me a lot about the third quarter i can promise you I think about it just as much as you guys do too you know it's like it's driving me nuts....we've got to play better in the second half" Penalties, bad throws, interceptions, dropped balls, a blocked punt killed us in the second half. Those aren't scheme related. Rhule didn't scheme the blocked punt. Now the protection issues were exacerbated scheme and that I put on Brady. To argue that we should have run the ball less ignores what was happening in the game, because we could move the ball running it. You could argue at the end of the first half he should have gone for a first or gone for the field goal on 4th down, but had it failed it would have made it even easier for Phily to get 3 points, which they proceeded to do. -
Very Discouraged By Rhule and His Comments After the Game

We all know the O is cold in the 3rd quarter in our games (and 2nd half last game.) I watched both press conferences, and Rhule said the exact opposite of what your stating. He talked about needing to play 4 quarters of football and he's spending a lot of time trying to figure out why our 3rd quarter O play has been poor. He did NOT say, "Oh, well, I'm just trying to maintain the lead." -

Very Discouraged By Rhule and His Comments After the Game
SBBlue replied to Proudiddy's topic in Carolina Panthers
Someone needs to contact the Cardinals, Bills, Browns, Cowboys and Ravens to let them know that establishing a run game isn't important anymore, because they all have more rushing attempts than we do. The importance of establishing the run is not an isolated philosophy to Rhule or RR and believe it or not, QB's like Brady who can handle carrying that load of a mostly pass offense are rare. -
You weren't kidding. You do behave exactly like a jets fan.
-
You're right that hindsight IS 20/20. Had I known this thread was another "we should have picked so and so in the draft" thread, I never would have clicked on it.
-
Relax dude. We know it was a bad pick. He went for the longer throw. The Thomas throw would have been a five yard toss to slow unreliable receiver with no YAC to speak of, with 70 yards to go ftw in 2 minutes. BTW its 1st and 20 and a quite likely incomplete to Thomas would have made it 2nd and 20. Had he threaded the needle we wouldn't be talking about it, but he didn't, so we get to see you post pictures of it over and over in frustration. Sam had his first bad game under multi year record setting pressure. Lets see how he responds. BTW I've watched how jets fans respond to Zach Wilsons progress. They turned on him quick too even though he had been sacked 15 times in 3 games. smh

Some of you need to get away from football for a few days
SBBlue replied to Gipetto's topic in Carolina Panthers
With a D that has one bad game after losing their star corner and a qb whose had 1 bad game after surviving record pressure due to the loss of the starting tackle and guard resulting in moving the RT to LT and the very first NFL start of their RT. The corner has been replaced twice over and the replacements will be fully acclimated by seasons end. The starting tackle and guard injuries are not season ending and will return, meanwhile we know that Moton and BC will certainly improve as the get acclimated. -
You're right. He's not good at reading.
-
If the O looks like it did in the Eagles game, or the D looks like it did in the Dallas game we'll lose. It will confirm that we are NOT ahead in the rebuild and that the great performance against the Saints was apparently dependent on Horn, CMC, our OL starters or the missing Saint's assistant coaches.

Once again, you're relishing in the misfortune of our players. Its about 50% of your posts besides attacking fans cheering on the players. Let me guess your reply: "I rip on Darnold cause I really want to win duh duh duhhh." Ignore back on. You can rant and whine to the void.

Robby did the jet flying thing in the endzone against the Jets. Its part of the game.
-
I'm losing faith in Joe Brady.
-
You are right, looking at the field, the receivers are not getting open. Sam apparently likes DJ for contested catches and our opponents know that. The time to throw has moved from 2.6 average last year to 2.9 partially because receivers aren't getting open. Frisman Jackson, and Joe Brady better figure this out quick or they are in for a very long season.

CRA on Sam Darnold: https://www.carolinahuddle.com/topic/171463-panthers-cut-will-grier-pj-wins-backup-qb-spot/?do=findComment&comment=5538550 https://www.carolinahuddle.com/topic/171413-conspiracy-theory-time-rhulefitterer/?do=findComment&comment=5535313 I've got about 100 of em, not including the discussions you and I have had where you state that we don't have a QB at all. Should I expect another warning point from a different tinderbox mod on an unrelated post I've made? I know that's how you all roll when y'all get called out.
