Yeah, that's what I thought.

He still wasn't throwing well last year. They ran him all over, but he didn't throw that much.

Production vs. volatility: Can a quarterback outproduce a bad turnover-worthy throw rate? | NFL News, Rankings and Statistics | PFF "In the past, people have looked at the mistakes simply by using interception rate, but that’s a statistic vulnerable to factors outside of a quarterback’s sphere of influence. You can throw a perfect pass that hits your receiver’s hands, only to see it bounce up into the sky and be picked off. You can also make a terrible read and throw the ball straight to a linebacker only to see him drop the interception, recording merely an incompletion like any other harmless miss. PFF’s grading system allows us to quantify these instances where the stat sheet misleads and tell a far more accurate picture using what we call Turnover-Worthy Plays. These are the lowest-graded throws in PFF’s grading scale and capture bad plays whether or not they resulted in a turnover. The designation can also absolve the quarterback for plays that were not his fault, such as dropped passes and plays where the receiver clearly hung him out to dry by stopping his route, running a bad route or ending up on a different page entirely." Man I forgot that. I just cant bring myself to go back and watch the SB losses. I didn't even realize that he had the game-tyer in both ours and Rams games.

Now take it easy. It is PFF.

Neither injury was actually behind the line. One was in the endzone, and the other at the firstdown marker. He wasn't crushed by defensive linemen.

Meanwhile some are speculating that we could get something in trade for Grier.

So we've got that going for us.

5 Carolina Panthers players facing an uphill battle at training camp

Injuries on oline is more of a rule, than an exception. -
There's just a lot of prove it guys. Darnold, Erving, Eiflin have to show improvement. On D don't forget Bouye, Reddick, Jones, and Fox and on O Arnold/Tremble, David Moore and rookies Marshal and Shi Smith. With a low baseline, a ton of change, add some moneyballing and "diamond in the rough" hunting and you get a low score.

I think the Oher signing was criticized at the time. Oher was about 30, coming off surgery and appeared to be declining. Best LT since Gross, even if it was for one good season.
-
I know right? TBH I wasn't excited about Teddy. I'm very interested to see what Darnold has been hiding under that pile of jets stink Yes. Yes it is.

If we can do for Moore, what we did for Anderson..... That's my latest guess too. Me neither. When does the season begin again? Tell me about it. I'll never forget 4th and long, touchdown against I think the Jags. Man that was a wild year. I think he had one in the SB too. Samuel peaked at the right time to get paid. Those first few seasons were rough. Me too, until that tweet. I can not wait.

Mostly bad judgement. We've tried, its not like we have invested high picks (Little) or thrown money at it (Kahlil). We just keep whiffing. Moton, BC, Erving, and Scott may all whiff at LT. We'll see.

Next to Darnold, I don't know of a more derided acquisition than Cam Erving. I've watched the videos where he wiffed and got plowed over. I know the PFF scores suck. He played fewer snaps than Okung last year as a swing tackle in Dallas. So what did our team see in him to give him a 2 year, 5mil a year contract? Re-signing Cam Erving an Underrated Offseason Priority for the Cowboys ✭ (insidethestar.com) " Erving is a versatile offensive lineman that can compete at guard and play both tackle spots. Though he struggled with injuries of his own, he was solid in his one season with Dallas. In five games played, Erving allowed just one sack and eight total pressure per Pro Football Focus. To put that into perspective, he allowed a pressure on just 5% of his pass-blocking snaps. Brandon Knight allowed a pressure on 7.1% of his snaps. All-Pro Guard Zack Martin allowed a pressure on 7.7% of his snaps. Now, this isn’t to say that Cam Erving is better than Zack Martin or even Brandon Knight, but he certainly showed a capability that the Cowboys could use more of. His versatility allows him to play both guard and tackle and with some questions as to who might be the left guard in 2021, Erving is a name the Cowboys could consider thrusting into that competition as well. Again, you can never have too much offensive line depth and Erving provides really nice depth for when the Cowboys need a fill-in for one of their starters at tackle or guard. " Erving had fewer penalties and sacks per snap than Okung last year with only 8 pressures in five games. If he does win a spot on the line and plays like he did last year. I can live with that.

and our running back is number 1, over Kamara, McKissic and Ekeler , while sitting out most of 2020.

CMC missing nearly all of 2020, is still number one.

With all these rookies, it's good to add an accomplished vet in there, share his experience.

"As a Seahawk, Moore came into his own in 2020 as a sneaky threat that Russell Wilson could utilize when Tyler Lockett and D.K. Metcalf were well-covered by opposing defenses, catching 35 of 47 passes for 417 yards and six touchdowns. He garnered national attention for his incredible sideline scoring reception in Week 2 against the Patriots, the catch probability of which was rated at 6.3%." WR David Moore leaves Seattle Seahawks, agrees to terms with Panthers (usatoday.com)

From the article in the op: "The left side of Carolina's offensive line has the potential to be a mess. The Panthers brought in Cameron Erving and Pat Elflein in free agency to compete for the left tackle and left guard jobs, respectively. The only problem with that strategy is that Elflein and Erving both find themselves among the five lowest-graded offensive linemen in the league over the past three seasons. Carolina needs former BYU standout Brady Christensen to take control of one of those jobs, but it remains to be seen if he can stick at tackle with 32.25-inch arms." "Darnold has been the lowest-graded starting quarterback (63.1) in the NFL since 2018."
