Carolina Panthers' three-year salary cap forecast looks strong
SBBlue replied to SBBlue's topic in Carolina Panthers
If we do well, our biggest hole is probably going to be OC. LT LB and FS can be handled in draft or FA. Our OC schemed TB, Samuel, Moore, Anderson, and Davis to career years against some tough D's behind a battered line. -
Carolina Panthers' three-year salary cap forecast looks strong

Yup. -
That's fair. I would list Kalil as the poster boy of the problem, not necessarily thee problem. Matt Kalil's cap hit was 3rd highest on the team last year, after TB and Okung. He hasn't played for us since 2017. We had to pay Okung 13 mil last year because Kalil sucked. He was our largest dead cap expenditure in 2020, over Greg, Luke and Cam, years after he was long gone. Now that I look at this, that meant for 2020, we spent about 25 mil to cover LT.

Because CMC is awesome on the field. He moves the ball and the chains. As a receiver, no one has more yards after catch. That is with him sitting out most of 2020.
-
What would you have done? Trade up for Sewell? Take Slater?

We are definitely better than last year. Off the top of my head, we have a new QB, 3WRs, 2TEs, 1RB, 5OL, 4DBs, 2 MLBs, 2OLBs, 2DTs, 1DE and 1LS. That doesn't include the return of CMC. We'll see how many of those start or even get reps and how they perform but even after all the change last year, we are going through a lot of change again this year on both sides of the ball. I'm going to have to print up another jersey number sheet for the games.

REPORT: No movement in Panthers’ talks w/ Taylor Moton
SBBlue replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
It sure seems like after we sign players they get hurt or decline. The Saints do a better job at resigning good players than we do, for sure. They are in a similar situation with Marcus Williams right now, so we'll see how each one plays out. -
All the guy does is complain and deride.

Read his first post on the thread.

Really, another replay of the oline discussion. Really? I'm not arguing that we couldn't have done more. Rather than having the same oline conversation one...more...time.... I thought we'd discuss who Frank actually wanted, but no, thats to much and you felt to say that was unceccessary. I think you're missing the bigger picture here. You have a guy trolling the thread on CMC. He backpedals into bitching about the oline. That's all he's done is bitch about the team since he's got here. He inserts insults about huddlers how we don't see reality. In. Every. Post. You, as a mod, rush in to argue for higher oline picks. No wonder the TB is so awesome. smh

Jermain Carter Highest PFF Panther LB Last Year

You can't. You just bitch, in your bitchy whiny, bitchy way. Yes I said bitchy twice. You pay great players. Other teams find a way. -
Jermain Carter Highest PFF Panther LB Last Year
SBBlue replied to SBBlue's topic in Carolina Panthers
He very clearly is. Standard troll formula 1)List complaints he knows some will consider legitimate 2)Inserts veiled insults on the team or huddlers into every post, normally buried in the middle. 3)Repeat one and two over and over and over and over and over. When called out, he puts up some posts trying to sound reasonable saying yah team. The dude hates the Panthers ....probably on his third login. Sad part is, our mods rush to his aid. -
Doesn't seem like it with you Frank. Every post contains a snide comment, insult to the team, or bitch about a decision.

No, we know people have been complaining the whole time. They're real good at it. They go on message board to complain and complain. Keep on deriding it. Its all you do. -
You're talking about yourself right? If only we had someone to teach us, like you Frank. Please share you're brilliant insights. After we let CMC go, should we have taken one in the draft?
-
No. Pros don't use draft position as the only measure...its just simpleminded. I tried to get the thread away from same old "we don't invest enough in the oline" whine. People always whine but then offer nothing other than, more money or higher picks. When we spend more money or higher picks they complain how it wasn't the right ones. And when given the chance to say what should have been done, just simpleminded responses.
-
So you rate drafted players based on draft position. ok.
-
We drafted 2 olilne man this year and brought in Moore who should have been drafted. People like to complain about who we chose but never say who they wanted which make no sense. "I really like that guy, but I loved all the guys taken before him." is nonsensical, as if draft order is the only measure. If you don't have someone that you thought we should have taken instead of BC, you're just bitching.
-
Read the thread. You replied. So why the bitching about the line? That only matters if you can make the case that you know one is better than BC. You just said you liked BC. You must like someone else. Who did you want instead?
-
Seriously? From you? You're a broken record about us losing and how our oline sucks. Oh there it is again. Being that old broken record wet blanket on the oline. Tell, me exactly what your problem with BC is.
-
I know. Its why you're here.
