When our O gets to the point where it can move the chains consistently in practice, they will be effective against a top 10 D.

I went back and read the training camp threads from last year. Just a few observations: 1)The defense, in particular the secondary, was MUCH softer. We rave about our defensive additions this year, is there any surprise to see improvement? A sample quote to highlight the theme: "Secondary and defense in general is going to be rough this year.." Which was right. 2)We complained about the oline last year, even with Okung. Okung kept leaving practice early. There were apologies to Teddy for what we were about to do to him. 3)The rips on Teddy at training camp are not like what we're seeing here. There were certainly fewer rips. Part of it was, Teddy looked better in camp against a softer D. Part was probably Darnold is not as familiar with the offense as Teddy. Part is many of us are expecting Darnold to be better than Teddy. Part of it is the wonderful new personalities we've added to the Huddle this year. The huddle is definitely bitchier this year, even though we had much more to complain about last year.

I want to make sure I understand this. Are saying that Will Grier entering the HOF is as likely as "the line plays well enough to get the job done"? Because one sounds impossible (Grier HOF), where the other sounds more than possible (serviceable line). We kept 3 starters, 4 if you include Scott. We brought in 5 new lineman. The 2 lineman we let go weren't awesome last year. One is jobless and the other is a backup for the colts. You hate the 5 lineman we brought in so bad, that you are near certain the the oline is going to suck, when it was largely considered average last year? It just sounds extreme.

I agree. We are all anxious to see how this plays out.

If I had to choose now, the answer would be no. Just no. We don't know how BC, Brown and Moore are going to do. Erving and Eflein haven't looked awesome, but Okung and Reed didn't look awesome last year either. Lets see what happens in preseason people. Pads aren't even on yet.

So when the Chiefs started the season last year, did they have a LT? Because it didn't look like it in the SB. This notion that once you have elite olineman that you're good-to-go ignores the near-certainty of injury on the oline. We've brought in 5 new olineman, is there any surprise that we are experimenting to find the best configuration?
