  1. Freeman is probably still learning the O.
  2. Yup and we made them look like they belonged on the jets.
  3. Yup. Their D had 2 sacks, 7 TFL, 3 QB hits, 4 PD, 1 Int. Our D had 4 sacks, 3 TFL, 11 QB hits, 3 PD, 2 ints. We ran for 89 yards 2.7 per attempt. They ran for 48 yards, 2.8 per attempt. We passed for 305 yards, 11.7/att. They passed for 111 yards 10.1/att Their O-line was missing their center Eric McCoy. That's it. Starting Guard Ruiz moved to center and '20 UDFA Throckmorton started at G. That's it for the line. Michael Thomas was out. That's it in on O. Say what you want, but if your whole line collapses with one injury, you have a problem. I think it is more likely that our defense is going to make a whole lot of offensive lines look bad. We had multiple o-lineman injuries during the game, and one starter coming off Covid.
  4. I know they were missing their center which would have some effect, but most of the pressure was not from the interior. That's fine. Let the saints believe their missing players were the reason. No need to adjust, Saints. Just stay the course.
  5. This is going to be very hard for those who have been deriding Sam and predicting Sam's and Rhule's failure all summer. I've booked the posts.
  6. Yup. Sam is going to get better. Teddy had 2 years in the offense before he played for us. Sam has had 4 months. Teddy's first game in the Peyton offense was against us at the end of the season. Kyle Allen beat him when we were both resting a lot of starters.
  7. Apparently that was just the first half. Darnold was 26/38 68% cmp% 305 Yards 2TDs 1 int with a 99.1 Rtg Winston was 11/22 50% cmp% 111 Yards 0TDs 2int with a 26.9 Rtg
  8. Yes. Some O-line love. I don't think its enough to end the Slater threads though.
  9. Teams should celebrate wins. Should the bucs give their rings back because the Chiefs had injuries on the line? Availability is the primary ability. Saints had no problem celebrating when they beat us when Cam was hurt.
  10. They were certainly wrong when they predicted they would win.
  11. That's exactly what the Saints boards are saying right now.
  12. Sam Darnold 16/20 80% cmp 217 yards 2 TDs Passer Rating 145.2
  13. Top 10 seems more and more likely, top 5 is not out of the realm of possibility. I CANNOT wait to play the bucs.
  14. 129 yards. The fewest Payton has ever had in a saints game.
  15. Todays game against the saints is an example of why we didn't take Slater. Last year the saints had only 1 sack, 3TFL, 2 QB hits, 1 pass deflection and 0 FF. We threw for 254 yards and Bridgewater had a 128.3 passer rating. We didn't lose that game because Bridgewater was running for his life. They had 415 yards with an 86% 3rd down conversion rate. We lost the game 27-24 because the D couldn't get off the field. I'm not saying LT's aren't valuable, they most certainly are. I'm saying as bad as our O-line was, our secondary was worse.
  16. You are right. This is a true test of O-line. This is one of the best d-lines we will face. Last year in our first meeting we lost 27-24. The Saints had 1 sack, 3TFL, 2 QB hits, 1 pass deflection and 0 FF. We threw for 254 yards and Bridgewater had a 128.3 passer rating. Really nothing earth shattering in pass pro to say they exposed much. Rushing is a different story. We only had 37 yards rushing. CMC was out for that one. This year CMC is back. Elflein and Erving are graded higher in run blocking than their predecessors. With these improvements, and their diminished linebacker unit, we should run the ball better. If we do, we have a very good chance to win this game.
  17. They were a really well behaved fan base in our section. They had a lot of hope in Wilson, their two first round offensive linemen and their Dline. I don't think they will only have 2 wins again this year.
  18. Good post. I missed it. You're right. Erving wasn't terrible. After all the whining, belly aching and screams on how he was garbage all off season and preseason that just went on and on and on. He faced a rotation that included Shaq Lawson (70.9 pff) and I saw him pick up a blitzing CJ Mosley (75pff). Erving was NOT garbage last Sunday. What do you hear from the huddle on Erving? Crickets. It may be a fluke, but if he shows up again Sunday, it will get much harder to continue that narrative. At that point they probably all point to Pass Rush Win Rate, the participation trophy for D-linemen.
