I think we knew that Elflein and Erving were injury prone and hopefully have been planning for it. Versatility and all that jazz.
-
I wasn't against benching him when the next guy earned the spot....and I hope the next guy is ready. I was against deriding him every game when he did play. Our OL play just has not been that bad... and when you compare it to how our opponent's OL looked.....
-
Its an omen. Their time is over.

Welp, some huddlers got what they wanted. Elfiein is out for while. Next man up, hopefully Coach Meyer has em ready.

I've earned plenty of those.

Anyway, I regret posting the vax comment and I hope it doesn't derail the thread.
-
I think it has to do with whether the reporters are actually in the room rather than conferenced in, honestly I don't know. Maybe I'm wrong and they are vaccinated. But Payton didn't wear a max. Maybe they feel they're vulnerable to the virus when they lose?
-
It appears that Winston and Kamara are unvaccinated. Our tinderbox would be in full melt down if our QB and RB weren't vaxed. Remember the response this summer?
-
I also learned that they lost their center mid game LAST week. The guard switched over after not practicing center this year, according Kamara. Whatever the case, they played half the game last week with the exact same line.

He was cutting off reporters too. The guy was pissed. I hate that guy, he ran up the score on packers... calling for bombs when he was up 30 points in the 4th quarter. He has received the biggest financial penalty in the history of sports for cheating and intentionally injuring players and he mocks other teams chants. The guy is an ass.

As I watched the Saints post game conferences, I wondered how this week contrasted with last week when some people were saying the saints were a contender after drubbing the Packers. It was as expected. Payton was pissed, Winston was shell-shocked and Kamara was uncharacteristically quiet.

Yeah, the coverage of the saints game was all focused on the saints, how they were up and down, rather than on how good the Panthers must be. They'll find out soon enough.

There is a mob mentality to hate on offensive linemen here. "Can he play LT" is a constant joke ripping on our LT. And it is constant. I have spent plenty of time on other teams forums and I know that we are one of the worst fanbases for ripping on our OL-men. Months in offseason and preseason of panic and derision directed at Erving and Elflein before they even played a snap. And now, when the OL is playing decent, the huddle attacks wherever the pff score sends them. Why? Seriously why send all this bad energy at our own players? I'm not arguing if Elflein is a good player. Pat Meyer and Rhule have determined that Elflein is the best we've got until Brown, BC, or Daley are ready. The jets threw 1st round guard Elijah Vera-Tucker on the line before he was ready and Derick Brown ate his lunch. Wilson paid the price. I'm engaging people who are fueling the mob and will continue to do so. Why not do the snap shot play by play of fugups on some of our opponents players?

Yeah, my experience with him is along those lines. I'm not sure what he's trying to do.

Now that is funny.

Carolina opens at 7.5 favorite over Houston
SBBlue replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
Houston killed the Jags and lost to the Browns by 10. I know theres a change at QB but we don't know what Davis is going to do. We really should win. I just don't want to sleep on Houston. -
I loved the reply: SubmarineMike: Punter gonna be gassed by end of game at this rate.

Elflein has not been great but that analysis isn't entirely correct. First play of the game is a run right, away from Eflien, who is clearly lined up on #71 R.Ramczyk who plays RT. First one there is #70 LT C.Ringo who was lined up on Williams. Rmaczyk leaps over and grabs CMC's feet AFTER CMC is already tackled. The tackle was C. Ringo, its hard to see on the TV because the play runs away from the camera, but it looks like it and I'm pretty certain it was was Ringo because the NFL said so in the playbook: Carolina Panthers at 15:00 1-10-CAR 25 (15:00) C.McCaffrey right tackle to CAR 28 for 3 yards (C.Ringo) CAR_Gamebook.pdf (nfl.com) I am confident if I continued, I would find other errors because the offense looked pretty good when Elflein was in. While Elfein was in we marched down field in 5 plays for 75 yards and 7 points. Darnold was not touched in pass pro while Elflein was in. Not once. All of the sacks and hits came AFTER Elflein was out. I'm not saying Elflein is great, but you can pick misses and screwups for any lineman even on successful plays. Even on good linemen. The MOST DAMAGING missed block of the game was the hit on Darnold that resulted in the turn over. That pressure came from the right side by a blitzing CB who waltzed untouched right past Moton who chose to double team the tackle instead. I could create of series of pictures of Moton missing the block that crushed our chance for a shut out and gave an opening for the Saints to get back in the game, but why do that? He's out there busting his ass for my team trying to win us games. Elflein isn't very good, but he is clearly out there busting his ass and he is NOT as bad as huddlers say. The constant verbal assault from the huddle on our players reflects more on us than on them.

It was props for showing up. The excuses just make it delicious.

Amen. I know. The data is telling us that the odds are moving in the right direction and I would rather be us than the 25 teams that aren't undefeated. That said, using past years as a dataset ignores this years situation with a hard backloaded schedule. Our chances for the playoffs increased substantially yesterday but until we win more, I'd say the odds are still against us at this point. We can see the path, but it isn't guaranteed. That said, I believe the bucs are not everything that everybody thinks they are, just as the Saints weren't and we are going to kick their ass. My dream, is the last game of the season, we sack Brady 5 times with 10 QB hits, win the division, knock them out of the playoffs and Brady says "I'm done."
-
Yes. Yes we will.
-
I'm sure one of us will be.
-
I'm not sure Brees could have done anything different on Sunday. Maybe Russel Wilson could. Winston was under more pressure than Mahommes in the SB.

And we hope they are all back and healthy when meet in the Dome. Till then.
