The Buc's will lose and we will be alone at the top of the division.

Yes and he has had 1 int in 3 games. 2 turnovers total. He's thrown for over 300 in 2 games now. He scored 17 points last night without CMC, and only 7 with him. Yes the dataset is small, but its NOT pointing towards a sucky or even just average QB.

I've been trying to tell people since May.

There may be a bit of that, but 3 out of 4 sacks were BEFORE CMC went out. This was the weakest DL we've played by far, according to PFF. So either PFF is ass, or we played worse and I'd say both. Sam may have been taking more time....it felt that way. There still weren't large holes to run through. There's a reason Pat Meyer and Rhule chose Elflein over Daley. DT Blacklock tore up with a sack, a QB hit, and a FF. He had a 30.2 pff last year. -
They are trying to rewrite history saying things like, I didn't hate on him. I never said he was that bad, I just blah blah blah.....

We are a better team with CMC and Horn. That said, we scored more points without CMC than with him. We scored 17 without CMC. We scored 7 with him. They scored more points when we had Horn, 6, than when Horn was out 3. Now situational football drove that, but the next guy up, stepped up. Chubba, Royce and Sam stepped up. Brady called better and the D held their ground.

This was the OL's worst game thus far. We did better last two. -

I was screaming at the TV. He better be hiding the RZ playbook because so far its infuriating. -

I cannot believe Brady called that. WTH was he thinking? Seriously WTF. -

Chubba Hubbard... Boom or Bust?
SBBlue replied to Future of the Funchise's topic in Carolina Panthers
They sacked us 3 times with 5 qb hits, 3 passes defended and 2 forced fumbles. I think it is our worst showing yet against the lowest rated DL we've played. Elflein may have sucked, but if feels like the line as a whole appeard to perform better with him. I think we did better when Williams was out against a tougher Dline. TBF I think Darnold was holding onto the ball longer tonight. We had 117 yards rushing and CMC was only 31 of that, so that is a good sign. -
Chuba Hubbard 11 Att 52 yards, 4.7 yards per carry

We are spoiled by McCaffrey. Chuba just needs to invest a lot more time catching. -

Tonight Chuba caught 3 out of 5 for 27 yards, 9 yards per catch. -

We had 43 yards in the first half and 74 yards rushing in the second half. -
Chuba had a good night. He turned some certain yardage losses in to 2-3 yards. He had the longest run of the game at 14. Not bad for a rookie. He also came back and PULLED the pile to help Darnold get across for the score.

I was so fuging sick of those foot-locker employees running on the field throwing their stupid ass yellow handkerchiefs. Almost ruined the game.

Is it weird that winning 24-9 feels like an ugly win because we weren't up 17 at the half?

We beat the Texans and the Zebras!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Carolina’s Defense Has It Looking Like A Contender — If Sam Darnold And The Offense Can Keep Up | FiveThirtyEight " The Panthers head into Thursday night’s game against the Houston Texans with around a 75 percent chance2 to go 3-0 to start the season for the fifth time in franchise history. It’s a start that has the potential to get fans in Carolina extremely excited: The Panthers made the playoffs in three of those four previous 3-0 seasons, and twice they went all the way to the Super Bowl.3 And the Panthers’ success mirrors the league base rate: Since 1978, 198 teams have started the year 3-0, and 149 (75.3 percent) of them ended up making the playoffs. ... Through two weeks, Carolina has the top-ranked defense as measured by expected points added per play (-0.25), defensive success rate (67.3 percent), third-down conversion rate allowed (25 percent) and yards per play allowed (3.69) ... It’s a different story on offense, though. In the most important measures, the Panthers rank slightly below average. Their offensive EPA per play ranks 17th and their yards per play ranks 18th in the league. Star running back Christian McCaffrey is off to an unspectacular start on the ground — he ranks sixth in rushing yards (170), averaging 3.8 yards per rush ... Darnold’s Total QBR through two games of 66.3 isn’t dominant, but it is good for sixth in the league. He’s averaging 8 yards per attempt and has thrown three touchdowns, with only one interception, and has taken just three sacks. And Darnold has been particularly good from a clean pocket, ranking fourth in the NFL with a Raw QBR of 84.8. Sports media doesn’t know what to make of Carolina Carolina Panthers power rankings through Week 2 of the 2021 season SOURCE RANK PREVIOUS CHANGE Football Outsiders 1 7 +6 Pro Football Network 7 25 +18 CBS 11 23 +12 Yahoo 14 22 +8 ESPN 15 23 +8 Sports Illustrated 17 23 +6 NFL.com 18 25 +7 FiveThirtyEight 18 23 +5 Sporting News 20 25 +5 ... Here at FiveThirtyEight, our Elo model has strong early season priors and is fairly conservative, ranking Carolina as the 18th best team in the NFL — despite giving it a 45-point bump in Elo after the Panthers defeated the Saints. But perhaps Football Outsiders is on to something and a playoff run is on order this year. It seems improbable, but so did Darnold’s QB transformation. "

Regardless of what the media said, NFL coaches took notice. The saints beatdown was a statement game and NFL coaches on our schedule are looking at that tape trying figure out how to run the ball and slow that rush. Sam is going to get blitzed a lot more going forward. This is playing out better than some of us hoped. We hoped to beat the saints...not give Payton the worst offensive performance of his tenure. If you want to believe that Burns and Reddick beat those pro-bowl OTs because they had a different center, or coaches were out (not the OL coach btw), thats fine. We'll get to see the show again this season.
