  1. And Dallas did the same to us with Horn. Melvin was totally outmatched in both the run and the pass. Its hard to estimate what a difference Horn would have made in that game. Kamara played in the Saints game and we shut him down. We could not shut down Elliot. In the end, if they can run on us, its going to be a long day. If the Dallas game is what we can expect out of our D going forward with the loss of Horn, we're in big trouble.
  2. We were down our LG the last 2 weeks, and gave up 8 sacks. This week we are down our starting LT and LG. It sounds like at least one rookie is playing. Hopefully he'll rise to the occasion.
  3. Yes, for some. But most posts weren't: "he's inury prone." they were: "he sucks".
  4. Huddlers are getting what they wished for. No Erving or Elflein.
  5. You are the one posting things that don't exist, that only exist in your mind. That is a delusion. When the line plays poorly, I say that. The reality is that you don't admit when the line plays well because it threatens your worldview.
  6. I didn't say the line was good. That also, is only in your mind.
  7. Just as its too early to declare the rookie linemen who were drafted a success.
  8. No one is burying their heads in the sand frankw. That is all in your mind.
  9. Don't count on that. We said that when Elflein got hurt. Here's to hope.
  10. Only 15 teams have enough caps space to afford him without restructuring some big contracts. This is largely a win now move, so of those, most aren't trying to make the playoffs now. That... And we really hate the Bucs and wanted to make sure they didn't get him.
  11. Yup. We just got the DPOY for 6th rounder 2 years out. Only on the huddle would they use that to beat the OL dead horse.
  12. link:McCaffrey says Thursday night game contributed to injury :: WRALSportsFan.com " The Carolina Panthers' 2019 All-Pro running back said he “definitely” feels like playing on a short week against the Houston Texans on Sept. 23 contributed to his strained hamstring, which held him out of last week’s 36-28 loss to the Dallas Cowboys. ... “I don’t prefer Thursday night games,” McCaffrey said Thursday. “You go through a lot in a football game and then you really get two days to recover — and one of those days is a travel day. So you get two days to recover, you hop on a plane, you’re in a hotel and then go out and play in a football game. It’s tough.” ... “I think I’m not alone in this, but I would argue against them,” McCaffrey said when asked if he would like to see Thursday night games eliminated. "I understand though it is part of the game. I can sit up here and complain, and I’m not complaining that’s for sure. But it is frustrating when you feel like it's something that could have been avoided with a little more rest.” "
  13. I agree (not on the Walker thing, but the rest of it.) I'm not convinced the delay is all on Sam. I know that it was 2.61 in the Jets game and it looked like he was getting the ball out faster. Loss of CMC may have played a role. CMC's return will help with that I think.
  14. You and I have been trying to get people here to give Sam a chance for months. Sam has just had his 3rd 300 yard game with 2 rushing touchdowns and 2 passing touchdowns. He has the most rushing touchdowns in the NFL. The crow casseroles are warming up and will be hot and ready by season's end. That said, I think Joe Brady, the WR's and Sam need to get the time to throw down to 2.6 for Sam's safety. He cannot take 5 sacks a game every game and no team in football holds the pocket longer than 2.6 seconds. I'm sure they are working on this.
  15. True. The same can be said just for throwing first rounders on a line. The jets drafted LT in the 1st round last year and guard in 1st round this year. Their line is worse than ours in nearly every measure, including sacks where they stand at 16. The last two games our line was Erving at LT, Daley, Paradis, Miller and Moton. Last year our line was Little/Scott/Daley/Okung at LT, Reed, Paradis, Miller and Moton. We were top 10 in pass pro press% last year. Why? Because Little rocked? Because Reed, who is now a backup at the colts was awesome? No. We were top 10 in press% because we threw the ball in 2.6 seconds.
  16. These numbers are averages, so yes, most definitely. You've seen how quick Burns get to the QB haven't you? BTW Elflein hasn't played the last two games. The first two games, the line was statistically above average. When Elflein did play he gave up 0 sacks. Things did not get awesome when Elflein went out, they got progressively worse by nearly every measure. Paradis is trying to help Daley where-ever he is, RG (jets) or LG (Houston, Dallas).
  17. Jets picked him and then released him. He is currently on the Browns PS.
  18. We've seen what happened to our defense without Horn. I don't think people understand what locking down one side of the field means to D performance both in the run and pass game.
  19. We have an above average pocket time of 2.4s. As long as the time to throw is >2.9 like it has been the last couple games, the line is going to look horrible. Until the time to throw drops back down to Teddy Bridgewater's 2020 average of 2.6, or like Sam did in the Jets game, 2.61, sacks and hits will continue pile up. As for the run game, the results we are seeing are exactly the result that Brady got with the Saints in 2018 and Pat Meyer got with the Chargers in 2019, about 2 YBC/Att. Without a change in scheme, I don't see that improving.
