They were horrible down the stretch. We almost beat the Knicks the 4th place team and then turn around and just get beat like a drum by the Pacers? The Pacers? They were not even thinking playoffs a week ago. Just sad. I see other NBA teams playing their whole roster, why don't the Hornets? What is the benefit of not playing certain players? I guess that's why I am not a coach.

I am not sure Borrego is to blame completely but, he definitely deserves some. We were in 4th place before the injury bug hit so, he must have been doing something right. My problem all year has been defense and lack of it. We do not have a big man in the middle to rebound and stop other teams. Clint Capela would have been a better addition to this team rather than Hayward. So many times this year it seemed we had five guards on the floor. Shooters but no rebounders. Nic Richards and Vernon Carey didn't sniff the lineup many games. Once we went on our epic flaming dumpster rolling down a hill collapse Borrego should have at least played those guys. We lost anyway... Almost like the Panthers signing Teddy and winning 5 games. We should have left Teddy to go elsewhere and roll with Will Grier. If that had happened, we would have Trevor Lawrence right now.

The evolution to being a perennial winner.
IceUpSon2001 replied to musicman's topic in Carolina Panthers
Not sure, that may be the new stat that ESPN talks about NFL live in the summer months. I know Matt Millen stunk, not 13 years. -

I was excited when Ron was hired. He had been passed over a couple of times before I believe. Just kind of went stale and part of that was Hurney not getting talent on a consistent basis. 2015 was special and I hope we get back there again. If Clete Blakeman is the ref, we will be screwed. I believe John Fox stayed 3 years too long. His stubbornness was frustrating. -

Hurney and John Fox were not on the same page apparently. I think coach and GM need to be on the same page -

I'm not defending him, I wasn't a fan of his. He was not as bad as some of the other teams in the league. Maybe adequate was too high for him. Subpar? -

He was adequate, not great. We had high first round picks on a lot of his homeruns. That was because we were not good and picking high. Go back and look at some of his drafts and we missed a lot too. -

It started with Cam and Luke, and winning 3 NFC south titles. Other than that Panthers have been up and down you are right. I see us building and going in the right direction. I have a feeling this season Reddick and Burns are going wreak havoc on opposing QB's. Add Chinn and Horn in the backfield, we may be back. No more Brees, thank goodness. -
I'm sure he is involved but right now it looks like he let his GM and coach pick their players. Now, if this draft class takes a dump and is no good, he may be more like Jerruh Jones.
-
I was happy Tepper did not trump the football guys in the process. We don't need another Jerruh Jones
-
Please do not try and get back into the Watson sweepstakes. If any of the accusations are true, I would not let him lead our team. If they are not true and he is innocent, we have no business giving up multiple draft picks and players for ONE guy. Players on rookie contract are very valuable. If you have great scouts and a great GM, you can find another Watson.

Hornets make the post season....what lies ahead
IceUpSon2001 replied to Captain Morgan's topic in Charlotte Hornets
Hornets slipped all the way to the 10th seed. They were in 4th at one point. Injuries can derail a team. I have to ask the question....Should the Hornets look for another coach? Is it lack of talent or X's and O's? -
Very cool stadium indeed
-
Charlotte Knights are around and actually in Charlotte now and not SC. They typically are at the top in attendance in AAA ball. They have a fantastic stadium. If the A's moved to Charlotte, MLB would have to rearrange divisions. Vegas would probably be a better fit, and it would be the dagger in Oakland pro sports.
-
I think Montreal and Nashville will be ahead of Charlotte for a new or relocated team. If the league expands to 32, Charlotte could have a shot. North Carolina was in talks to receive the Minnesota Twins back in the day but, the public shot down new tax increases. Team would have been in the Triad. Triad is the meat in the Raleigh Charlotte sandwich and would be an ideal location. Not sure if NC can support an MLB team today. We have too many fans from other areas of the country. The Panthers are probably a very slim leader as the favorite NFL team here.

2021 Carolina Panthers Schedule and some thoughts on it
IceUpSon2001 replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
I feel like we are in the same division as the Washington Football team. We play them a lot. Sometimes I wonder what our playoff appearances would be if we were in our correct division, NFC East and Dallas was in the NFC South. Tampa Bay, two times in 3 weeks. Tampa will either be resting or fighting for a playoff berth. -
Hornets make the post season....what lies ahead
IceUpSon2001 replied to Captain Morgan's topic in Charlotte Hornets
What might have been..... Hornets look like they were hitting their stride when Melo, Hayward, Monk and Graham were on fire. Losing Bridges the last week has sucked as well. Injuries have definitely ruined this season. Also, Hornets should have tried to get a big man instead of Wannamaker. I see them losing the play in if Hayward doesn't come back. Hopefully we address the middle of the paint next year. Can't rely on the 3 point shot all the time. -
Teddy Opens up About Carolina (CBS)
IceUpSon2001 replied to CarolinaLivin's topic in Carolina Panthers
Teddy could be lying to try to take some blame off himself but, he is also accepting blame so that doesn't seem likely. We did not look good at the end of games last year. 0-8 in games where we had the ball with a chance to tie or win. It was mentioned that sometimes Teddy would not get the call in time for the snap. That was the excuse when he fumbled the ball on the goal line. He did not have the call and ran a play. Joe Brady went from passing coordinator at LSU to OC in the NFL. He probably did not do some things well. Let's hope they get it together this year. -
