This is exactly right. Every year the next class looks good or better. Until the season comes then they dissect it and find all the blemishes with every prospect. Rattler was can't miss Howell as well.

He's got this season and what's in it now to make the playoffs. If he has as much control as we think I wouldn't bet against him even leveraging some of next years draft capital to win this season.

Wentz isn't a bad passer he is just bad at staying healthy. But whatever the case he has been given multiple starting jobs and has become a decent passer( mvp caliber) despite coming from a small school. My point is if you got the traits to be a good qb they will translate to the NFL.

Production matters... nobody is saying runn and can't throw... but if the play simply isn't there and it's man to man defense he gives you a numbers advantage and opens up the offense. Well we have the senior bowl game as reference those guys were his peers many of them first rounders 2... he took off on them and broke what a 30 yarder? He looked just as fast and probably better because he had equal talent around him.

I mean there are variables like angles and pads so on. We don't know for sure how fast army LB is. But also 40 yards doesn't mean you have long speed. He could reach his max speed very fast but have no gear after that. While some people build up speed over distsnce,Willis could be just a burst guy.

If Desmond runs a 4.52 and is 2mph slower than Willis he has to at the least running a 4.4

Running your believed time gets you a oh as expected. Running even a 4.5 erases your godly speed advantage that most of the scouts thinks you have. It's like a pocket passer volunteering to throw extra throws when not necessary. If I'm your agent and your already thought to be the number 1qb why create more risk? Your right. I do. And people seem to laugh at me for feeling that way. So I'm painting the picture why I feel that way. Do I think he's a better prospect than say Lawrence? Not close. But I think he does give you a floor as a rookie. It's going to take some time to figure it out in the passing game. If you have a strong defense you can lean on his rushing ability to generation some easy offense and win with your defense. Rhule wants to be a rushing team anyway. It would be no different than what we did with cam when we were the leagues number 1 rushing attack and won on defense.

I'm here year round. Been on the huddle since 2009. First rounders play period these days. UNLESS your a playoff team like the 49ers or packers who can afford to sit a young qb. Which is of course what you want to do if you have time but teams picking in the top 10 rarely do... and rarely do they have Jimmy G or Arron Rodgers ahead of them. He will play even if it's packages..
