  1. He's just small.. that's his whole deal. Great talent.. if I could get in thr back of the first or second awsome.
  2. The franchises job isn't on the line. The franchises will go on with or without rhule. Tepper has made it very clear how he feels about marquee quarterbacks. If darnold is as as bad as he was last year it doesn't matter who is blocking for him. He won't win enough games to get another chance at drafting a qb next year. I think we as fans might want a tackle and rhule might a well. But honestly does Evan Neal make us challenge for the playoffs? If not rhule is fired...
  3. I think most likely those who are hoping for a tackle are probably going to be disappointed. I don't see how a "tackle" saves Rhules job. He probably knows that. Getting even the best one and rolling Ole Sammy boy out there equals an early out to rhules contract.
  4. I don't think fits can sit still with the amount of picks we have B all day.
  5. I think putting a for sure number on anyone's potential or draft grade is impossible. But it's someone's job to do it because choices have to be made. If I'm going to take a guess on a guy because I have 2 it will be a educated guess with numbers to back it up. That's all this is.. someone educated guess which I think is better than a gut feeling or the Ole he looks good with the eyeball.
  6. Oh I agree he's a much better athlete than Jones. I was only commenting on I guess arm talent? His arm might be better than Jones but it's hard to tell the difference at this point. If I had them side by side I go Pickett..
  7. It's not specifically for Pickett. But I think it sounds a lot like him to me. Yes Brady is doing amazing but he is the needle in the haystack.. he's the goat.. he's the I don't know what you do well but it works guy. Brady has elite processing I have always believed. Few guys him and Payton manning have that. Do we think Pickett has that? Chances are he doesn't. If I could trade down... and get Pickett I'm all for it. Pickett at say 25 sounds awesome. It's the top 10 for me.. top 10 just bring good at most things isn't enough. Top 10 I need something you are immediately a threat with. Your arm, legs, processing, accuracy whatever. I think Pickett is the safe middle grounds of all those things. Does he defeat Mahomes for you with that tho?
  8. Oh I agree. Not trying to say he's a 3rd rounder. Just on his skillset. The things I can put a value on..he doesn't have the biggest arm. He doesn't have elite athleticism.. he does have elite accuracy except* on down field throws.. like he has his ceiling lowered because of those things. I can't see myself drafting a limited prospect top ten. Top ten you have to shoot for a guy who can defeat mahomes. If your running a patriots like offense he's your guy no doubt. That system works for guys like him and Mac Jones. A west coast like offense. He's a older guy and dang near a finished product. Not much room to grow and if he already almost as good as he is going to be and that still isn't enough to be the unanimous number 1 qb... why do I want you?
  9. He's a system quarterback. If I'm taking you top 10 you have to be able to fit into any system. You have to have elite traits... what makes you a first rounder? If not.. why can't I get you in the 3rd round? His arm is meh and we seem to have a team full of wrs who need the deep ball to be a thing. He really isn't a good fit for us. People just like mocking him to us cause rhule and temple. If he is so great, how come he isn't being mocked to anyone but us? I have seen Willis at 2.. I have seen Willis at 6.. seen him to the falcons and Pittsburg. Nobody but us seems to want Pickett.
  10. He is a boom or bust prospect most definitely. But how many people said Derrick Brown was a sure thing 2 years ago and look what that got us. I swear he is holding on to his starting job by draft position and upside only. Like Matt said at some point you have to take a shot inside the top 10. Honestly if I'm him and I draft a LT and keep darnold does that save my job? If I lose next season as well but I show flashes with an exciting young qb of the future back there tepper might cut him some slack. Thinking about it logically I think the only thing Rhule can do after nissing Watson and so on is draft a qb..
  11. Chris trapasso has Willis number 7 overall on his big board with this write up
  12. I just gave you a list of massive under achievers... your picking the needle in the haystack to define your argument. Brady was a 6th round pick all the pocket passers with the God given talent I just made a list of failed.. if cam under achieved most first round pocket passing qbs under achieved. Running qbs have always been around plz.. not to the extent the ways things are ran today. The league tried to make guys who could run into something else or force them to play like a pocket passer. What we are seeing today is a evolution of the offensive system that is maximizing those gifts instead of putting them in a box and saying play like Dan marino.. yes the measure of a quarterback will always be his ability to make throws but that doesn't mean having more options isn't better. Give me a guy who can make the throws and escape over a if it isn't there I'm screwd qb any day. The league knows it college knows it and that's why you don't see as many pocket passers.
  13. What gets me is the idea that these old school cats think that EVERY pocket passer is Tom Brady Brady can throw the football and wins games. Your saying all of them are more talented than Micheal vick and wins yous more games get out of here.. for the Few micheal vicks there are 1000 more failed pocket passers. Jeff George, Todd Marinovich, heath Shuler, Joey Harrington,Ryan leaf, Tim couch, cade Mccown,, Patrick Ramsey, J.P lawman, Brady Quinn. That's just a few recent first rounders. You can't say every pocket passer is better than every mobile qb just because that's what the history was before they allowed mobile qbs to play the position. If 90%of the NFL history was pocket passers guess who's going to win the most super bowls... same goes for race whatever... you can say only 3-4 black qbs won a super bowl but guess when black qbs became a thing in terms of the NFL history??? Maybe mostly the 90s? And maybe 5 them then.
  14. You are a fool then. Vick might be the most dynamic weapon the league has ever seen. Just because something didn't work doesn't mean it couldn't. The league the way the game was played isn't the way it is now. Vick was successful in moderation he won't more than half his games and had good seasons and pro bowl seasons. Stop with the bias.
  15. Dude we went 15-1 what are you talking about just let it go..
  16. Joe Burrow was the number 1 overall pick and almost unanimous by all. Obviously something was special about him to be labeled the best period.
  17. It sounds like you are separating the "running qbs who are successful" from the ones who aren't. For the Vick matter, Vick had one of the most magical runs to the playoffs history. That defeat of the vikings was legendary. His what... was it 2010 with the eagles demonstrated what he was capable of with 20 passing touchdowns 13 ints and 9 more touchdowns on the ground. The jail sentence squandered his golden years...but anyways I would take out burrow and add Hurbert to that category. I'm amazed at how you guys view mobile qbs when your home team had arugablythe greatest dual threat qb of all time and showed the potential with one of the best season from the qb position with no weapons in 2015. We were able to manufacture offense out nothing pretty much and the only reason you didn't get a championship is the front office inability to sign a decent LT and RT.
  18. He's pretty unique as far as finding a comparison. All the things you seem to have a problem with can be coached. I don't think with rhule in his ear every day in practice he's going to be allowed to look at one receiver and run when we wants to. The guy has proven to have above average intelligence so learning shouldn't be a problem. Him running around could have been because the line was bad at Liberty or by design. I dout he goes out there and just runs with the thought in his head.
  19. Ok you guys are going to have to define what a running qb is.the goal is always to be similar to mahomes or Allen.. being faster than them doesn't mean your still trying to be mobile passer..
  20. Yes but I don't think he projected as a top qb because he was undersized didn't have the arm all that stuff. Didn't he go late in the draft?
  21. We're those guys the top projected qb in their class? I mean you can hate all you want but people who do this for a living have the guy a first rounder..he's going top 10.
  22. That doesn't mean he doesn't scramble or run for first downs... does the yardage mean you can't? What's him not getting more than 50 yards mean?
  23. Name a comparison for Newton coming out? There really wasn't one. People like to compare everyone to something but the fact is that isn't always the case. Especially with the NFL evolving the way it is. Guys like Willis probably would have been moved to running back back in the day(Pat White) or WR(Marcus Vick). The dual threat RPO type game really took off with Cam so we are kind of in Uncharted waters with these kinds of guys. I wouldn't say Willis is lightening fast like Vick.. or a giant bruiser like Cam but he's in between... he's Small height wise but very strongly built. His legs are massive and allow him to break a ton of tackles and sacks in the pocket. I think he is unique in that he is more of a power runner than we have seen in smaller guys... We haven't really seen a guy with his style of play and attributes which is why everyone is having a hard time putting him in a box. Speed wise he isn't the fastest but he's more than above average. I say between Kyler and Russ. I want to have him at a 4.47-4.53. I think he's probably about McCaffrey speed in terms of just running a straight line.
