  1. So you are telling me Staubach was faster than Micheal vick and a better runner with the football than Micheal vick who is the all time leading rusher and only qb to run for 1000 yards in a season runner Micheal vick?
  2. Absolutely not. But it's safe to say based off the speed of the guys who are duel threats, Willis has enough speed to be a threat with his legs? Is he atleast as fast as Newton who broke 70 yarders? As far as rushing qbs go I don't think we have seen a guy with the tools Willis has. He's got a strong lower base and lead the league in broken tackles at the position. He's shorter but he'd a power guy will break a ton of sacks. His start and stop acceleration are elite. I don't think he has the best top end speed like say a corner or Wr but he has enough speed to be a threat.
  3. I'm saying he isn't really a duel threat. His rushing ability isn't something you can take advantage of. If I have to worry about the threat of you running any given down it could cause a mistake in coverage, make a DB hesitant anything, just create more opportunities. I'm not saying running solves darnolds problems. I think he never looks comfortable in the pocket and has consistent happy feet. What I'm saying with Willis is day 1. You have probably a top 3 rushing threat as far as running quarterbacks go in the league you are going to have to respect that. That's a floor. At worse ot creates opportunities opens throwing lanes whatever. A top 10 arm that can challenge any spot on the field. His mobility is going to make DBs have to play in coverage longer than they would like which creates opportunities. Yes he's not drew Brees in terms of processing yet. But from what I seen he's a better thrower than Newton coming out of the draft. He can change up his pitches and has good deep ball accuracy.
  4. That was my whole point. Mr. Scott was saying that today's runners are nothing new and that they have been around since Rodger the Dodger and fran tarc. I'm saying today's mobile qbs are in a different league and a higher threat level to score than those guys. Those guys basically bought time with there legs. Vick, Cam, Lamar, Kyler and these kids will house one if you sleep on them. I'm not comparing Willis to them as a thrower only in the sense of mobility.
  5. If you leave out the average of 600 yards rushing and the long 70 yard touchdowns he was capable of breaking. The threat of the big chuck play made you respect newtson athleticism every down. You were always looking for it. But that worked in darnolds favor because hey nobody expected him to run. That said are we comparing Darnolds Red zone rushing ability to Newtons? A guy who literally ran over guys and around them into the enzone vs I caught you not looking at me and snuck in?
  6. If Sam Darnold isn't even faster than this guy I don't want him bring mentioned as a duel threat. Being able to run one in from 5 yards out doesn't mean your a duel threat.
  7. this is the reason you shouldnt lump in Fran Tarkenton and roger staubach with Vick or even Willis. Darnold is not an elite athlete. He moves well and probably has sneaky speed if defenses aren't prepared for it but That athletic ability alone isn't enough to build a offense around or even devote a every down spy to. Didn't Jordan Davis a 330 pound defensive tackle just run a faster time than this guy? Darnold on paper may not be as good a athlete as you assume.
  8. I mean if you no a hard-core draft nut you might think so. But I love this aspect of the NFL. But you won't find many that say he isn't a first rounder at qb.
  9. One read qb sounds a lot like the guy we drafted in 2011. All the things they were saying about Cam then older guys like you are saying now. He's a running back move his position. He can't throw. But bottom line people have seen him throw well enough to say he's above everyone else in this class. That should tell you he's more than just some running back at qb. He has to be able to throw..everyone knows that. These teams aren't going to draft a qb first round that doesn't have the ability to throw.
  10. I mean mcshay said it as well.. but now what we don't like mcshay because we don't agree with his opinion?
  11. Definitely more on fire than you any day. You never have any Valid info or links to anything you say. You basically just fart in the wind and say "we all smell it".
  12. My bad I should have asked him to give detail because Mr completely doesn't like Willis and a simple yes isn't credible.
  13. This should kill that whole argument. The whole idea that the quarterback wins and decides playoff victories is ridiculous. There are 21 other guys who have a large say so and looking at the score at the end of the game doesn't mean the better qb won the game.
  14. You would be wrong for spending the number 6 pick on a limited upside Pickett and Howell who is projected second rounder. I like Howell but nobody has him going in the top 20 maybe not the first round.
  15. The whole winning only with pocket passers myth is going to die a very quick death in the near future. With Brady Retirement imminent, and I guess we calling Stafford a pocket passer and he's at the end of the road. Who do you think is going to win super bowls? Because the rest of the league has some type of athleticism. The game as much as it doesn't seem isn't changing is. Remember when there was 1-2 guys who could move the chains with there legs? That trend has reversed. Almost every qb is capable of atleast running for a first down if the defense plays man.
  16. This. The Vick can't throw perspective is Crap. People want to look at percentages and but he never turned the ball over more than he scored. Scoring is what a qb does. You add in his rushing totals with his arm totals and I would take vick. Vick into today's RPO system would be incredible. When Vick was drafted we hadn't seen a guy like him before. You can say Staubach, Fran or whoever but none of those guys ran a 4.3 or were even close to the threat Vick was. Vick was run away from DBs fast. None of those qbs before the early 90s were that. Those guys at best were about as mobile as Mahomes. Like yeah he might move the chains but, they weren't run away from you or 70s to the house fast so the level of respect for vicks legs were different. I think comparing his level mobility, Cam and also Lamar jackson to those guys is a joke.
  17. I'm good with either of those exact 2. The only thing I would be upset about is if they drafted Pickett over Willis and a LT. If you took Hamilton I would be like eh...OK..even kayvon....elite upside. Don't draft a almost finished product with limited room for improvement. Like he pro ready but he's as ready as he will get.
  18. This!!!! People forget before that game people were saying Newton is leading in the race to repeat as league MVP. He was setting the league on fire. The pocket broke Newton, not running.
  19. I think this is skewed. You used 2 guys as examples of running qbs. So you have 2 out 32 chance of winning the super bowl. Chances are you won't. Does that mean it can't work? No. Then the other example of couldn't keep it up leads to the idea Newtons body got destroyed running the ball so that's why he's not the Qb which isn't exactly the case either. We didn't protect him and he got hurt in the pocket that Pittsburg game. Even up until this previous season with us Newton still looked like the same runner as far as rushing ability goes. He didn't lose effectiveness. His arm was just gone. His ability rifle in strikes between coverage wasn't there. Not to mention playing behind the worst offense line in carolina history. The Newton wasn't a good quarterback and running is why Is greatly overstated.
  20. This is a horrible take.... like nothing here makes sense barely enough? You don't Barely enough win a MVP and only lose 2 games in a season. BARELY win 3 division titles. The guy is a alltime record holder for rushing touchdowns in the league obviously your doing more than barely if your number 1 in a few categories and defeated Brady and all the pocket passers for a season. Barely? That means you can't throw at all really.
