Schemes can change in one offseason. If the guy has the tools and mental capacity to learn said scheme and your plan is to develop him anyway, why let that stop you from trying to unearth gold? The good offensive cordinators adjust to what a quarterback can do and build on that foundation. Chances are if you draft Willis he will be around longer than say Rhule.

I agree. But on the filp side if you can make every throw and it's the second round or later I don't see a downside at all. You have your Left tackle, Tepper has given you the vote of confidence. I'm sure they are weighing the risk as we speak. Sadly, we don't have the assets to move up into the the early second round. I don't see how a team like the lions or seahawks pass on him in the second again.

Your very child like I went to your profile and you have done nothing but poo everyone that spoke on willis that didn't think he was trash. I really can't talk to a person like you.
-
Bro sit down adults are talking.
-
@TrevorLaurenceTime22going around pooing people who support willis... lol
-
Shhhh... I would have turned him into jordan Davis if possible.
-
He was also suppose to be superior "prospect" to Lamar jackson. A guy like Willis or jackson tend to be hard to gauge how effect a offensive coordinator can use his skillet. He could easily outplay his draft position.
-
The same NFL said Sam Darnold was the 3rd overall pick as well....
-
They weren't clear on anything. This exact thing happened to Aaron Rodgers basically. Dak Prescott and Lamar jackson.. you act like nfl front office get it right all the time. Love icky can't complain 1 bit about the pick Willis is still willis.

I wanted him and still do. Just because the steelers went out the box doesn't chance the fact he is who he is. This is a poo post

Yeah I would be atleast calling about Malik at this point. Dumb not 2

How will you feel if we PASS on a LT in round oneā¦..
micnificent28 replied to WarPanthers89's topic in Carolina Panthers
This is the only plausible reason to pass on a LT. And I love other guys sauce and even KT to be exact. Even Hamilton... but those Willis is the only 1. -
I feel like if you giving him an extra year or 2 Willis is more likely than before. And Pickett shouldn't be on your thought process.
-
Well I agree now. But looking at it then with a blind eye not knowing what darnold was... I thought hey a second for a guy who's still as young as a rookie and was the 3rd pick that's a good get. And the jet weren't exactly happy to move on from him only did it to take Wilson. So at the time I was good with a second.

I mean it's easy to look bad after whatever has happened and day it's bad now. But at the time people loved the Gilmore trade. They applauded the Henderson trade guy was a top 10 pick you got him for a 3rd rounder? Sounds awesome. Marshall had a first round grade from a lot of people looked good in preseason people thought it was a steal. Now fast forward to now and we didn't win and everyone is like oh yeah I knew that was dumb. Those are bad trades. The truly bad trades for me are the ones you see ahead of time. Like maybe darnold... I would have given them a 2 at the time but all that other stuff behind it.. a 4 and what a 5... nah...
-
Wouldn't say that because at the time they seemed like good moves. Nobody draft haul last year. Marshall was suppose to be a steal. The trade Gilmore was actually worth it. CJ Henderson was a first round pick and you got him for a 3rd looked decent at the time. Hell early in the season Sam even looked like good value. Just because the execution didn't workout(rhule) doesn't mean the deal itself was bad.

I've never been less excited about a draft in Panthers history.
micnificent28 replied to hepcat's topic in Carolina Panthers
Im excited for the draft every year. I'm a fan of prospects and interesting trades and movement during the draft. Even if we have 0 picks, I want to see where Willis ends up, or Kyle Hamilton.. just a fan of prospects and potential future NFL Hall of Famers I guess. -
I think I got a chubby thinking about this line...

Guy is kinda shell shocked. He looks skittish in the pocket. Never sets his feet and plays very nervous. Can't win with that -
Stop the madness

Pickett isn't as gifted as Gabbert that should tell you something -
Tony Pauline doesn't see a quarterback at #6

That's not how it works. You scout traits that can translate to the next level. Willis arm talent and ability to create and throw of platform translate. College production isn't a good indicator of next level skills. Of course you rather have it but Stats don't=good. Stats can be inflated or deflated based on talent around them or college system. Basically a bad offensive coordinator or offensive line can make anyone look good or bad. Look at what they can do is the best way to scout. If we looked at stats as the end all be all we wouldn't have Josh allen.
