  1. Here's a little NFL power ranking write-up ahead of Sunday's game. Saints are 24th btw Rank 32 Carolina Panthers 0-1 All the offseason moves the Panthers made were, in some way or another, geared toward helping QB Bryce Young thrive and making the team more successful. Yet, in Week 1, the product somehow looked even worse than what last season's 2-15 squad put forth. Carolina allowed 47 points to a Saints team that scored 24 or fewer in all but five games in 2023. The Panthers scored 10 points (after staking the Saints a 30-0 lead), which was below their paltry 13.9-point average last year. And to bring the fiasco full circle, one of Carolina's best defenders, Derrick Brown, is now out with what could be a season-ending injury. Thinking that wasn't the kind of first game Dave Canales imagined when he went to bed last Saturday. There's a lot to fix and not much time to get it done. Before you ask, yes, the Bears still have more to gain from the trade that enabled the Panthers to add Young: They own Carolina's second-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. Pretty rough.
  2. PFN.. 28) Bryce Young, Carolina Panthers It’s just one week, but so far, Bryce Young doesn’t look any better under new head coach Dave Canales and with an improved supporting cast on offense. Young finished Week 1 as PFN’s fourth-worst quarterback of the week, with Watson being the only non-rookie starter with a worse grade. Perhaps the most worrisome sign with Young was his 52.1 passer rating from a clean pocket.
  3. Fresh NFL QB index... Only one behind him is Daniel Jones and that's probably because Bryce got the little rushing td Rank 31 Bryce Young Carolina Panthers · Year 2 2024 stats: 1 game | 43.3 pct | 161 pass yds | 5.4 ypa | 0 pass TD | 2 INT | 12 rush yds | 1 rush TD | 0 fumbles The reclamation project couldn't have started much worse. Young never appeared comfortable against the Saints. He missed open receivers (throwing two interceptions), struggled to make the most of scrambles and only occasionally navigated the pocket well enough to find targets amid the madness of an NFL play. The Panthers lack talent and were buried before they even had time to blink, forcing them into a pass-heavy approach that only made the situation worse for Young. He did throw a few nice passes in garbage time, but getting him right is going to be a long process.
  4. The local media definitely weren't wowed by anything from him during camp. Mike Kaye especially and he's probably more of an x's and o's guy than Newton/Person etc
  5. Canales just another pawn until he's proves he's not.
  6. Yeah, if/when he says he looks like a completely different player I'll maybe humor it for a game lol. Until then looking like himself is the last thing you want
  7. I got about 5 minutes into this garbage and had to stop. I was initially bummed I have to work the next 3 Sundays but I think I'm good. I'm just gonna college scout on Saturdays
  8. Yeah I'm no doctor but whatever stuff is supposed to connect to other stuff is severely damaged. Especially since it's been over a year since the last one and that wasn't even anything too crazy, he jammed his head into a guys chest which is much more forgiving than helmet to helmet
  9. That's the second time he's had that fencing posture, really scary
  10. Remember that "From the Ground Up..." Panthers spam about fixing his footwork? Yeah....
  11. Lol why. I dunno if he sailed it past the open guy underneath or actually thought slow ass Thielen was gonna make it to that spot. But Capital A Anticipation! That just means he can't see anything and just throws the timing route to the spot no matter the circumstance. This was the opening pick of the game btw
  12. Hey I know it's not necessarily related to arm strength, but getting finger tackled by linemen and not being able to qb sneak, maybe you wanna bump up your squats or something lol. Can't hurt
  13. During his offseason presser where he talked about the Netflix and all that, he also said he doesn't bench, would do him no good as a qb.
  14. Honestly the whole idea of us trading up to the top of the draft supposedly without a clear QB in mind was a major red flag internally.
  15. The only reason he was even draftable was because he was supposed to be some football brainiac. He was running protection meetings by the 2nd week of camp last year lol. No one leading up to the draft labeled him as a "project" or anything like that.
  16. Yeah the whole "build the interior line" thing that worked for Brees is just not working. He had a pocket to step into numerous times on Sunday. I think there's multiple reasons why he isn't willing to step up in there and none of them are good. From just being flustered to actually physically not being able to see what's going on when he gets too close to giant linemen
  17. Like exactly what Stroud did vs Georgia. That was basically Stroud vs an NFL defense and should have made him the unquestionable top pick in the draft. Bryce didn't even make the playoffs. and he got a shoulder injury that he didn't play very well after
  18. Has anyone melted down and posted college highlights yet again? lol. I've been off here for the last couple days mostly
