  1. It's our only pick until the 4th round due to a bunch of gambles and trades Rhule seemed for the most part to be in control of. People are upset because we should be in year 3 of the rebuild and ready to take over the NFC South with Sean Payton and Tom Brady gone, the Falcons being in denial of their need to blow things up and start a rebuild. Instead we've been running in circles and basically looking like needing to do a full reset in 2023. It's more than just blowing one draft pick, it's possibly Rhule trying to save his job with another gamble to the detriment of the Panthers long term success
  2. Yup, they both bailed on Temple after committing. Looking forward to the leadership qualities in these two guys next year
  3. That's pretty much what I would do as well, but Rhule is so petty and insecure he probably sees Willis as someone who will potentially overshadow him.
  4. Sure would be nice to have Fields ready to take over, $20m in extra cap space and the 2nd round pick back
  5. Yup so I get the sense from that Walter thing that Rhule wanted Fitt because Hurney was probably too opionated in the draft, and judging by Rhules current trend of tossing guys out of the building that don't make him look good it sounds like he's gonna keep on scapegoating until Tepper moves on. Rhule said Joe Brady was his decision right? Either that or he ok'd it even though it took him out of his comfort zone of a full Baylor staff. Either way it's a bad look. I don't think when people were hyping Rhule up they were anticipating him just taking as many Baylor/Temple pieces he possibly could to fill out the players and staff. Or they didn't realize he doesn't have any relationships with NFL caliber coaches
  6. I don't follow them much besides their free agent tracker, but it doesn't seem like they're generally in the drama business. I could be wrong though.
  7. I dunno about exciting and young, not a good season til his 5th year. Only a year younger than Darnold. Now Willis yes, exciting and young that was mentored by Cam
  8. And then we trade away our 25 year old 1st round qb bust (Pickett, not Darnold although basically the same age and bust factor) for like a 3rd or something. Sounds like the Panthers way
  9. This smells of Rhule wanting the guy he tried to recruit 5 years ago. They have the whole flaking on their commitment thing in common
  10. I'd take Zion in rnd 2 if we trade back
  11. Pickett's balls are pretty uninspiring so far, Dunno if he's that much different than a Will Grier type
  12. Looks like he's adjusting to the NFL coaching/pocket game fine, albeit just practice
  13. I like that analysis, you can coach up pocket work and pre snap reads. Can't teach the arm strength and improv skills. Only guy this draft that could possibly be a Mahomes/Allen/Wilson type
  14. Not that I've seen, mostly just raw footwork in the pocket, wasn't really in a system where he was reading pre-snap, just rolling with the punches. Occasionally doesn't run when he could. As far as making crazy ass Mahommes/Allen/Dangeruss throws he can do that naturally and should only get better at it. This is a long but decent film breakdown. In some portions the dude gives him poo for throwing a bad ball but to me they're mostly dead plays where he throws the ball off the ideal mark but favoring the receiver/away from possible interceptions on purpose. I'll take that over just chucking it into the sidelines where there's zero chance of anything.
  15. Same guy had excuses for Howell- On occasion, the ball got away from him, but the rain this afternoon was worse than the morning’s practice.
  16. Malik looks like the velocity is effortless, best arm so far at least. Guess we'll see better footage tmrw
  17. "So you see even though Slater was an all pro LT this year, he's actually a guard and in my system he'd be ready to start in maybe 3 years!"
  18. Have never heard of a job with this much leeway
  19. A 12 year old could press Rhule in an interview right now about what he's good at/what's gone well and it'd be pure deflection
  20. So he's like a consultant with bad ideas that gets the last say because they gave him a bad contract and don't know how to go about firing him yet
  21. If Tepper could draft a spreadsheet or something of pros and cons of Rhule I just don't see anything that checks a box on the pros. Can't OC or DC, bad evaluator, bad with time outs, bad at pressers, sounds like he's a dick in the locker room, annoying voice, That's pretty much all the boxes
  22. He actually embarassed himself pretty badly trying to hit a talking dummy. He's just a joke at all levels
  23. Rhule has a way with words and it's in the wrong direction
