  1. So how would he explain his Watson tweet?
  2. Rhule wasn't "forced" to do anything until maybe getting some real coaching staff this year. His press conferences speak for themselves as far as what players he favors or is responsible for. Darnold and PJ will be around until someone pries them from his hands. Can't wait for his 3QB system starting up again by week 5
  3. What I heard on Youtube is basically he can get the regular 5th year option salary through incentives, $3.5M or whatever it is
  4. Weird they haven't officially announced the signing but maybe waiting for a little presser or something
  5. One issue is we have Sam who sucks either way, then Baker and Corral who are both RPO guys playing for an OC that with the Giants basically did shotgun no huddle quick reads. McAdoo also seems like the kinda guy to get stuck in his ways. Corral probably has the highest ceiling as a pocket passer IMO. Baker maybe a little more accurate but his QBR is pretty low when forced to stay in the pocket
  6. I'd think a team like the Texans or Seattle would have to trade for Sam if one of their QB's had a serious injury. Though there are probably better 3rd string backups floating around the league for cheaper.
  7. Rhules dumb ass might even promote PJ from the practice squad for a game or 2 over playing Corral in an emergency situation.
  8. That's what worked on and off in Cleveland. When defenses forced him into traditional drop back situations his qb rating was like 70, as high as 130 when running RPOs
  9. Injury somewhere else, we cover $15M of Darnolds deal, and we break even with Baker and Corral with PJ on the practice squad
  10. They are going to pray for an injury during training camp so they can ship him off for basically the same deal they got Baker for. If Corral plays well during preseason it would be really awkward to have Sam inactive in the regular season. Maybe they come up with a bs injury settlement since he probably would rather be boogie boarding in cali?
  11. That's what I'm talking about. Possibly good reality TV ending in Rhule getting fired. Those are my realistic expectations. Last year was too boring to even be enjoyable from a junk entertainment standpoint
  12. I think they're in proper tank mode, not this 5 year "retool" then finally accepting the tank thing we're doing
  13. Well he sounds like the opposite of Darnold which is great. I still think Rhule is going to find some way to screw up whatever chances of success we may have. Mayfield looked different every year with different OC's adjusting to his pros and cons and we haven't seen this staff make a single adjustment yet. McAdoo is new but I don't think he's revered as a genius offensive mind as far as adapting to the players around him.
  14. Some of those 50-70 yard bombs look pretty easy, not sure about the tight window stuff
  15. I saw this a while ago from a Browns fan, a good breakdown of year by year the changes in schemes and defenses adjusting to whatever his coaches were doing the prior year. Basically same ideas as what you listed but it's interesting to see how they were scheming, and the last year is still a question mark with the injures. So here we are yet again with a guy who we don't know if he figured it out in 2020 and the injury held him back, or if teams just figured out what he did in 2020 and adjusted once again
  16. Rhule will keep him on the practice squad now that you can have the extra 6 guys. Keep his guy employed unless he wants to play for XFL/USFL/CFL whatever other things exist. He's probably happy running the scout team on PS pay
  17. For context: Baker 92-56 TD/INT Sam 54-52 TD/INT
  18. Plus if we extend Baker off one year of play we just went through this whole "rebuild" without ever getting to Fitts philosophy of drafting a cheap QB to build around for a 4-5 year window. If we have no intentions of extending him it's also a waste of time, unless it shows Tepper that Rhule is the problem, not the 6 qb's he's trotted out on the field.
  19. Another one year rental with Rhule as the coach, 4? maybe 5 if Darnold goes away and Corral is actually the active backup
  20. So I guess it's a positive sign that Baker agreed to cut his salary to get the trade done? At least willing to bet on himself at the very least. He could have basically said no and could have avoided coming here
