Jaycee Horn weighs in on the turf debate
Jackie Lee replied to PantherFanInPhilly's topic in Carolina Panthers
The players want grass, they practice/play 5-6 days a week and have voiced their opinions. The acute foot/ankle injuries suck, quads/hamstrings etc suck the day after when you're running on expensive carpet. Why do any of the turf defenders take the side of the owners trying to save 50 bucks -
When I saw this I was like yeah this guy not it. Not that I thought he was good in the first place but that attitude and immaturity you can't really change

Horrible take for what reason? It's 100% because it's cheaper for billionaire owners, the soccer blog post thing you put up earlier may as well have been a paid advertisement for turf companies -

I think it's worth a player strike. Owners need to cough up the 25 cents it costs them to maintain a grass field. Tepper can figure out the 2 soccer games a year that overlap with Panthers games, Wembley Stadium already has a way to cover their grass field for concerts so that is no excuse. -
At 6'1" and 200 lbs that's not gonna work. He kinda looked like Baker against the 49ers game but more boring

Watching the Florida highlights, holy crap Rattler has fallen so far from his stock 2 years ago. I didn't like him then or watching his snarky high school clips in the first place but dude might not even be a UDFA

Yeah I dunno if you remember, but Lamar was looking not good in his first preseason, first year was below 60%, having a good HC found the balance and gave him confidence/schemed things up for him. If we get the right coach/OC it can work

Cam averaged 59% over his career, got up to mid 60's in 2018 when he accepted check downs...

I was working happy hour and the Florida game wasn't on in NY. Heard Richardson was looking good though, gonna try to find highlights. Considering Bryce might be the only guy ready to play year one, Richardson seems like the ideal project guy. Even if he busts he can run short yardage/goal line plays for 4 years like we used Cam in that Arizona game. When you see Malik/Mac Jones/PJ/etc only getting 10-15 pass attempts a game why not have a guy that the defense has to account for as a legit threat. Bigger than Lamar, faster than Cam, all I'm sayin..

I still think Hendon Hooker would be hard to pass up if he's sitting there day 2 and we didn't grab anyone else yet

https://nflpa.com/posts/only-natural-grass-can-level-the-nfls-playing-field The data supports the anecdotes you’ll hear from me and other players: artificial turf is significantly harder on the body than grass. Based on NFL injury data collected from 2012 to 2018, not only was the contact injury rate for lower extremities higher during practices and games held on artificial turf, NFL players consistently experienced a much higher rate of non-contact lower extremity injuries on turf compared to natural surfaces. Specifically, players have a 28% higher rate of non-contact lower extremity injuries when playing on artificial turf. Of those non-contact injuries, players have a 32% higher rate of non-contact knee injuries on turf and a staggering 69% higher rate of non-contact foot/ankle injuries on turf compared to grass.

I'm pretty much in the same boat, although I haven't really caught much of Penix. The Levis media is running out of excuses, he can't really afford to have another mediocre game if he wants to stay in the 1st round conversations
-
Also Njigba is still dealing with hamstring issues, he's out again this week. 2 months of that isn't a good look. Quentin Johnston is around but not sure if anyone's projecting him top 10

How bad does PJ need to play to be removed as starter?
Jackie Lee replied to AlphabetsEnd's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yeah with the Roquan Smith addition they had the Saints looking rough. -
It's crickets every time the tankers get asked who their guy would be

Major cold front moving in, possible snow at Ohio State, close to freezing temps in Kentucky.

I'd look to trade back and then debate whether to go Noah Sewell then a QB in the 2nd, or QB in the 1st and then Justin Flowe in the 2nd. We need a an ILB bad, especially with probably a new coach and Shaq maybe being a cap casualty.

He gains nothing by not being supportive of his team. If he starts again, his teammates will give him credit for being supportive. If he doesn't, when he hits FA he showed he's not being a baby about not being the starter. He obviously has that competitive gene but I'm sure he talked with his wife and family and decided to go with taking an optimistic approach. Lots of things happened at the same time as Rhule leaving so it's hard to evaluate every single situation but the vibe seems to be way better team wide
