Pretty sure it'd be $30M in 2023 and $40M in 2024 if you grabbed him off waivers, the $30M would be guaranteed but you could get out in 2024 with a dead cap hit of $7.5M. If he got cut and cleared waivers I think you could get a much friendlier cap hit in 2023 but he would probably want more guaranteed down the line. Either way I'm tired of the turnover. Darnold knows he's on the path to being a career backup and actually seems pretty cool with the idea, wouldn't be a distraction. Just draft a guy and go with Darnold/PJ/Minshew etc for a couple months without wrecking our wide open cap space we have after next year

Well at least there seems to be some level of strategic thought and patience into this coaching search than last time. Rhule already had the job by this time in Jan 2020. Is Fitt actually in the interviews? 9 interviews seems like a decent amount contrary to Fitt saying the list would be short

If you want to get the #1 pick from the Bears, what's your move?
Jackie Lee replied to EgoDogg's topic in Carolina Panthers
I'm sure the combine is going to change things, but mock drafts are all over the place for the top 10 picks. Could potentially have Will Anderson/Jalen Carter as the top two guys which could make the trade scenarios interesting. It's definitely not the kind of draft where everyone has Young/Stroud as the obvious top 2 off the board. As long as we don't draft Levis I'm comfortable with pretty much every other alternative -

Another. Kyler looks crazy in general because he's kinda shaped like a toddler but Bryce has him looking like a linebacker side by side -

Stetson Bennett is listed at 5'11" and 190... -
Raiders will cut him and eat the $5M. I really don't see any team trading or grabbing him on waivers for $30M. We have like $1M in cap space currently, I don't think it would be worth the cap gymnastics to get him as our next journeyman QB for 2 years. I also don't see why anyone would even entertain the idea until after the draft

Yeah I love Wilks as the mentor/motivator but our D was pretty bad with that soft zone/no pressure combo

So which QB do we think will be available at #9?
Jackie Lee replied to NAS's topic in Carolina Panthers
He'll probably be available in the 5th round -
Take away Josh Allen and I'm not really sold on Dorsey. More interested in the other OC's getting it done with average QB's
-
Wilks knows the deal.

Johnson and Steichen are probably the top two OC's available to take a head coaching job. Can't really whelm more than that

It's tough say whether he's just a natural or if the system was just a good fit for him to manage. Dunno much about his background but isn't he also 25?

Duggan just cemented himself as a day 3 pick
-
Oof that'll probably wrap things up

Washington, 400 yards and 2 tds on the year but every draft simulator has him as a top 10 pick

I wanna see this Georgia TE do something. Aside from being a big dude to help block he doesn't seem like much an offensive threat
