Reich intro presser as colts HC transcript from 2018
Jackie Lee replied to panther4life's topic in Carolina Panthers
Also interesting that Fitt was with him in Seattle. I dug a little earlier and didn't see any connection between Reich and Richard, but this could be a situation where GM and HC are seeing eye to eye on DC candidates which would be an improvement over whatever was happening the last couple years. -
Do you trust Reich to find us (and develop) a franchise QB?

So what does it mean that we just brought back Eason when we already had Corral on the roster? Drafted by the Colts, maybe just a coincidence/guy to help speed up the learning process for whoever else we have come in? I imagine we'll start off with 4 QB's again but have a clearer idea of starter instead of that disaster of a competition last year. At the least Reich should be able to identify who is grasping the system pretty early on in the process. He switched things up differently for Rivers and Wentz so he's not completely stuck in his ways unlike McAdoo -
Interesting vid from Pat MacAfee.

So I'm guessing the younger guys gave Tepper flashbacks of the Rhule interview regarding their staffing choices, or lack there of. If they even asked Rhule at all at the time, which I could see Tepper and Hurney not even bringing it up -
So would that mean the DC's Fitt/Tepper interviewed would not be in the plan? Or that Reich possibly talked to them separately as well and it still could be Richard/Manuel?
-
Irsay is apparently not even attending HC interviews with the staff because he's dead set on Saturday as his guy. Weird scenario over there that I'm assuming Reich is probably happy to get away from
-
Yeah it would be miles away from uh, Evan Cooper? That guy had no business being anywhere near an NFL team. Also Al Holcomb got lucky being LB's coach here for Kueckly/TD which basically required zero coaching, then he pretty much blew it every other stop with Wilks. Plus that senior citizen we had as D-line coach last year. What a mess looking back
-
Not surprising the 2 up and coming guys Kris Richard and Marquand Manuel were around Seattle when Fitt was there. Not sure if those were completely independent of Reich and just suggestions to offer him or what. Kris Richard would be interesting, definitely an upgrade over Holcomb. Dunno much about Manuel

Cover 3 zone with a league low 14% blitz rate. Sounds too similar to what we ran last year, not enough pressure, guys still getting beat despite having deep safety help. When they don't try you deep they can throw it underneath 5-10 yards all day. Only works if you can get pressure rushing 4 which we don't currently
-
Considering the Colts were pretty much a bottom 5 O-line last year I'd he'd consider not messing around with one of our few strengths. Although I assume he's not a fan of Campen's F bombs. Then again Sirianni cusses all the time so maybe he's not that uptight about what other guys do or say
-
Any clue how he ended up with Marcus Brady in Indy? Seems like he was just a random CFL guys. Hopefully he's looking into a couple Eagles guys that he would probably have a good idea about being ready to handle OC duties.
-
Yeah Wilks has everything except the actual being good at defense thing down. We gotta rank towards the highest of secondaries to get burned deep despite playing deep zone all the time. Maybe someone will finally use Chinn the right way as well

More cover 3, f that I'm sick of zone

Sounds like the Dolphins are all in on Fangio if he wants that job

I wonder if it's down to who can get/are willing to take on the more preferred coordinators in the eyes of Fitt and Tepper. Both guys are a pretty easy PR sell, Reich is a bit more X's and O's and Wilks more the locker room guy. Have a feeling Reich would be more flexible with the DC at least.
-
I like Wilks in the locker room but Reich is probably the better bet to get an upgrade over Holcomb at DC honestly. Wilks would only work if they convinced him to take on coordinators outside of his comfort zone. Reich is probably more willing to make a group decision on where to go defensively. Big bonus of the offensive head coach that we've never really had. Kinda ties together the fact that we already started interviewing DC's
-
The fact that Rap said Moore already headed home seems more likely he's not the guy. Reich and Wilks it's hard to say because they can both just hang around the area at home or with family

I gotta say the super religious doesn't use swear words kinda vibe isn't my favorite. Watching some of Reichs mic'd ups weren't the most inspiring things I've seen either. Seems like he knows whats going on on the field though which is obviously an upgrade from Rhule As Reich took his place in front of his team in the locker room at halftime of Sunday’s game, according to players, he made his feelings clear. He was stern. He did not equivocate. Oh, he made his point. And, yet, he never cursed. Never said a cross word. “The most angry we’ve probably seen him,” linebacker Anthony Walker said. “But he didn’t even cuss, if you can believe that. He barely even raised his voice, really.” Across the room, receiver T.Y. Hilton was focused. Reich had his undivided attention. “You probably wouldn’t even know he was mad,” Hilton said. “But being that we know him, we could tell he was pretty mad. I don’t think I’ve ever heard him curse. I don’t know how he does it, man.”
