  1. D-line guys just pushing him onto the ground with one hand...No "injury" but it limits the playbook so much. That first half will be every NFL regular season game the way teams will game plan for him
  2. This wasn't even on my watchlist but this could be what we see each game, bland and unexciting when the game plan goes bad
  3. So why is CJ the "safe" pick when he needs coaching to reach his full potential. Bryce is an easy pick for Texans/rhule type team that needs someone that needs less coaching but a lower ceiling physically. 100% CJ is > 100% Bryce and Tepper just spent unknown amounts of money on this coaching staff to get the best out of a ball of clay. If we naturally sucked into the top pick and Wilks was still the HC I'd get the Bryce pick but it's not making sense in this scenario to me
  4. I mean the 9er's gave up a lot for Lance, kept Jimmy G, got Purdy as an afterthought. It's not that different of a situation and Purdy was on track to get them to the SB. Corral is worth nothing right now so no reason to move him until you see what he's got for a few months under actual NFL coaching
  5. like 14 hours behind you here. I did get 2 days of xmas one year flying from Sydney>LA>NC though.
  6. I would rather move back up into the 60's after picking at 39. It's not a great top end draft but there will be plenty of day 2 guys that can start sooner than later. We're also going to add probably 15-20 UDFA's/FA's afterward considering we have like 26 open roster spots. Plus we have rhules leftover projects like Smith/Barno/Deonte etc that basically need to be coached up from scratch.
  7. Exactly. You have to devote all your energy to designing the playbook around his physical limitations, that's not why you put together a staff like this. No QB sneaks, no 60+ yard bombs to keep the secondary on their toes, possibly no play action under center. Cardinals fans have been bitching for 3 years now how Kyler is still in shotgun on 4th and inches/goal line
  8. I think the jumping around in the pocket and rolling out to hit his guys 20 yards down the field isn't going to translate. It's going to be a lot of throwing slants out of shotgun dink and dunk crap. He can't throw from the pocket like CJ can, so if/when teams contain him, they won't fear the deep ball, they'll just rush 4 or 5 and cover the short and intermediate stuff. Potential to be stressful yet boring at the same time
  9. Takes some effort to get banned around here. Good to know
  10. I couldn't find this isolated so time stamped. OL dude just shoves him to a td lol.
  11. I'm assuming it's because QB's are usually the only ones getting slammed to the ground while standing still, basically whiplashing the back of their heads on the turf. Every position gets rocked a different way. Linemen head on, receivers usually get that Antonio Brown thing, LB's might lower their head and do the Luke thing. They need at least 4-5 different versions depending on where the player is most likely to get that blunt trauma
  12. Neither Goff or Mayfield started their rookie years, just sayin. Plenty of other top 10 picks that are better than them didn't play immediately. Who knows how the new staff/playbook will affect how comfortable they are with either the rookie or Dalton
  13. I'm basically not getting involved in debate with anyone that has a future QB username or avatar at this point. Back and forth mind numbing debate at least
  14. I think we could move back 10 spots or so if the price is right. We don't need a bunch of late rounders. I'm not seeing anyone with that capital to get 2 second rounders as is but I wouldn't be opposed to trading back and then trading back up
  15. Yeah, i'd say pick 10-50 are all about equal talent wise. When we were stuck at 9 it as pretty depressing doing mock drafts. I know it's good to go bpa over need but this feels like a combination of the two at 39. No can't miss guy is falling that far so just take the best combo of talent and opportunity to contribute immediately. I still like the ILB's/CB's that may be there. D-line guys I still don't have a feel for but could happen. I know everyone still wants TE but I think there's enough depth to wait on that, and then we'll still have a 5-6 TE camp battle
  16. I think it means that you don't have to reach for a Downs or Hyatt at 39. I like both in college but BPA might be a more impactful player that's also more of a need. They probably already have a list of wr's coming out next year for when the QB has a year of experience under their belt. I like the idea of mostly vets this year. TMJ and Shi still need actual NFL coaching after a couple years of the last staff, same with Barno and Brandon Smith on the d side.
  17. He can contribute more as a returner than Andre roberts or Erickson did under the last staff. Those guys were useless as receiver depth. Thomas Brown was a returner so I wouldn't be surprised if he wanted something that could work better for him and Tabor equally. Shi probably shouldn't be back there except injury emergencies, especially punts
