  1. Yeah, banking on his hands, vertical, height etc. Thing is we have a processor with an average arm, not a gunslinger so he might not even get those 50/50's to even show what he can do. XL has some of the same BY issues, if he doesn't get some 50/50 throws his way he's going to be stuck catching a lot of expected shallow crossers aka dinks and dunks
  2. Right, D Johnson, Thielen, and XL/WR3 with new guards and TE should be close to a wash. Add in BY being the #1 overall draft pick, better than Teddy in 2020 shouldn't be too much to ask for.
  3. Well he was projected 5th/6th by most profiles I read. Most had these same weaknesses, slow vertical speed, no NFL competition, whatever. He had the same 40 and 20/10 splits as Antonio Brown, 3" more height and like 10" more vertical. It's mostly going to come down to the level of competition he faced and if he can get decent separation SCOUTING REPORT: WEAKNESSES Lacks explosive separation quickness and deep speed, often requires contested catches due to close coverage. Performance against higher caliber defenses remains a significant unknown, potentially impacting transition to the NFL. Subpar after-the-catch dynamics, with limited elusiveness and downfield acceleration affecting YAC potential. May struggle to step up his game - especially after playing at a lower level of compeition Initial stiffness in press situations could be exploited by physical NFL cornerbacks, necessitating refined footwork and release strategy.
  4. I was going to say 2020 Teddy numbers as the floor, since that wasn't good enough for Tepper/Rhule/whoever decided to go on that fuging qb carousel. If TB played all 17 games it would have been right about what you listed. 7.6 yards per attempt, up from BY's season 1 5.5.
  5. Interested to hear from the Bryce optimists on this, something other than "show improvement"
  6. I'm a little bummed at the lackluster udfa signing. It's not meant for any sort of qb competition. Devin Leary, Hartman, Austin Reed, Pratt, Travis, all could have actually pushed Bryce a little bit to step up his game. Pretty much all went where we could have taken a flyer on them
  7. Other tricky thing about one year of production is we don't know how he looks against any current NFL CB's. Closest I could find
  8. yeah I don't think he's going to be running a lot of jet sweeps or anything like that.
  9. That seems generally his style, but he might make an exception for his hand picked QB
  10. I mean it worked against 20 year old college kids, he's going to need to add some more tools and refinement to that in the pros. Being compared to a WR from 30-40 years ago is something else considering the game has completely changed
  11. I'll give Morgan credit for holding his ground on the compensation
  12. Wallace might actually have a bit of Luvu in his game
  13. Some nice angles not found on your run of the mill Youtube vids
  14. I like these angles on the XL highlights better than the stuff I saw pre-draft, routes/stiffness not as rough as I remember thinking from the tv angles
  15. Of course the system as a whole will take a while to gel. We're talking about him improving on the basics like footwork, being willing/accurate enough to hit an NFL open guy 20 yards in the middle of the field. That new youtube breakdown posted the other day has plenty examples of both of those issues if anyone needs a refresher. As far as being a franchise guy, Teddy wasn't good enough so he's gotta get above those 2020-21 Teddy starting numbers, anything less and it's just Tepper being stubborn about his trade up
  16. Here's what you get when you try to skimp at center. Cadence is a huge deal and you can't learn it mid game. That's why they clap in college ball
  17. The Panthers led the league in Top 300 signings, having acquired Jalen Coker (243rd), Andrew Raym (255th), Willie Drew (266th), Demani Richardson (287th) and Jaden Shirden (300th).
  18. I mean run first and get the ball out in 2.7 seconds...
