People forget how good Cam looked in Preseason
Jackie Lee replied to hepcat's topic in Carolina Panthers
Wow a QB who can manipulate a defense and not stare down his first read. And Peter King is mind blown he's getting paid $6m for half a season to save the franchise. Darnold is so bad at this exact thing we've lost at least 3 games because of it -
Or we could sit back and rest a week while everyone else loses, leapfrog the Saints for the #6 wildcard spot
-
If Darnold losing to the Giants/Eagles/Vikings keeps us out of the playoffs they have to straight up cut him

Butthole arena clearing out

Mac Jones is such a little bitch I'm glad we didn't draft him no matter how good he ends up being
-
Just hold him through training camp and maybe theres an injury on another team or something. Don't really see another path. This draft sucks so maybe a 2023 2nd or 3rd to a team with lots of cap space, Chargers or Dolphins maybe but doubt it
-
OK that was a BS flag, refs have been horrible all year

"ONLY HIS SECOND INCOMPLETION!!!!"

Falcons are truly in no mans land, not rebuilding, not a player away from contending, no cap space..

What happened to Mike Davis? Fell off super hard. Also Matt Ryan is a spitting image of Glass Joe from Punch Out

Tracking Games this week and playoff push

This could be a blow to Tampa, it's technically a federal offense. -

I think we'll see both play, and just because you know Cam is gonna have a lot of RPO's doesn't really matter. Every time you have to gamble on 1 of 3 or 4 options, and then actually stop whoever keeps/gets the ball. -
This draft isn't even looking that appealing after maybe the top 10-15 picks. Maybe we could trade a 2023 2nd to the Dolphins or Chargers who each have almost $80m in cap space, Darnold might be a better backup than Chase Daniel?

Cam: the answer to our offensive woes
Jackie Lee replied to Peon Awesome's topic in Carolina Panthers
Getting the film clips later in the week I was like somebody has to be open after 3 seconds, and there either was someone open or a 5-10 yard running lane every time -
We need to resign like 4 guys anyway, just convert the first year money to bonuses to fit it under the cap and deal with it later. Figuring out some way to extend Darnold to spread the cap hit out just leaves a reminder of the stench for a couple years. The hardest pill to swallow will be losing the draft picks next year, but if we re-sign Haason/Cam/Gilmore/Luvu we really don't need much besides OL in the draft. Trade back or trade future picks to move up, whatever works out depending on how the board falls. So many good teams picking later in the 1st trade back anyway because all they need is depth while in their prime

Cam: the answer to our offensive woes
Jackie Lee replied to Peon Awesome's topic in Carolina Panthers
Judging by his Youtube videos he works out constantly. He had like 600 rushing yards and 12 rushing TD's with the Patriots last year, just didn't get much love from the record and the empty Covid stadiums bringing no energy -
Cam: the answer to our offensive woes
Jackie Lee replied to Peon Awesome's topic in Carolina Panthers
I liked him as a backup here but he's a always a couple sacks away from being knocked out of the game. With our D I like the RPO like others, even if you know we're gonna do it you still have to pick either Cam/CMC or the slant and it wears D's down, keeps our D fresh -
Sam had so many open holes for 5-10 yard gains when he as scrambling in circles waiting for a comeback route whew. That was rough to watch
-
Every time Shula would let Cam run the no huddle we would immediately start carving up teams, I feel like mostly with quick slants/RPO's, etc and the occasional deep shot
-
That's a Sam fumble
-
PJ with a week of starting reps was obviously more comfortable communicating with the line, better footwork, patient in the pocket, all around immediate upgrade. Cam and PJ definitely both want to play here next year if our FO ask them back, and the players seem to respond to them better than they ever did to Darnold. 4 and a half seasons is plenty of tape on Darnold to realize he doesn't have it
-
Just take the best O-line but they'll probably go LB
-
He's close to Nathan Peterman bad
-
So with signings/restructures, do bonuses that don't effect the cap come out of Teppers pocket? Cuz he doesn't give a fug about $10m here or there to keep Cam/Haason/Gilmore/Shaq happy
-
Yeah not seeing much in major saving per player than Shaq, that could be around $5m freed up. Moton/CMC/Robby are the big newish contracts so seems like a stretch to restructure already unless it's simple 1 year extensions to move money around. Either way we could probably get Cam/Reddick/Gilmore all back with big bonuses/small cap hits. The Saints do this stuff every year
