Just glancing at next years numbers we could clear like $17M cutting/trading Robby and Elflein next year. We may only end up using like $8M of what we have now for the draft if we don't trade for a QB, so carry that $22M over. That's like $44M without any additional restructures or anything. Exactly my issue. We are the only team willing to trade anything for him and take on $26M for another one year rental, only because if he hits FA he's not willingly coming into this mess. If we were confident we could get him on a decent deal we'd just wait for him to get cut like anyone else slightly interested is doing.

49er's can straight up cut Jimmy G and only be on the hook for $1.4M. They're in no rush, can just wait it out til week one if they wanted to before cutting him, though I think they're gonna try to not disrespect him if possible.

We kinda screwed ourselves into taking a shitty trade back so it's possible. Doing mock drafts without trading back for at least a 2nd is really a bummer. I'd trade back a few spots for a 2nd/3rd and trade back again for another 3rd or whatever instead of dropping that far back on the first move.
