Cam: the answer to our offensive woes
Jackie Lee replied to Peon Awesome's topic in Carolina Panthers
Getting the film clips later in the week I was like somebody has to be open after 3 seconds, and there either was someone open or a 5-10 yard running lane every time -
We need to resign like 4 guys anyway, just convert the first year money to bonuses to fit it under the cap and deal with it later. Figuring out some way to extend Darnold to spread the cap hit out just leaves a reminder of the stench for a couple years. The hardest pill to swallow will be losing the draft picks next year, but if we re-sign Haason/Cam/Gilmore/Luvu we really don't need much besides OL in the draft. Trade back or trade future picks to move up, whatever works out depending on how the board falls. So many good teams picking later in the 1st trade back anyway because all they need is depth while in their prime

Cam: the answer to our offensive woes
Jackie Lee replied to Peon Awesome's topic in Carolina Panthers
Judging by his Youtube videos he works out constantly. He had like 600 rushing yards and 12 rushing TD's with the Patriots last year, just didn't get much love from the record and the empty Covid stadiums bringing no energy -
Cam: the answer to our offensive woes

I liked him as a backup here but he's a always a couple sacks away from being knocked out of the game. With our D I like the RPO like others, even if you know we're gonna do it you still have to pick either Cam/CMC or the slant and it wears D's down, keeps our D fresh -
Sam had so many open holes for 5-10 yard gains when he as scrambling in circles waiting for a comeback route whew. That was rough to watch
-
Every time Shula would let Cam run the no huddle we would immediately start carving up teams, I feel like mostly with quick slants/RPO's, etc and the occasional deep shot
-
That's a Sam fumble
-
PJ with a week of starting reps was obviously more comfortable communicating with the line, better footwork, patient in the pocket, all around immediate upgrade. Cam and PJ definitely both want to play here next year if our FO ask them back, and the players seem to respond to them better than they ever did to Darnold. 4 and a half seasons is plenty of tape on Darnold to realize he doesn't have it
-
Just take the best O-line but they'll probably go LB
-
He's close to Nathan Peterman bad
-
So with signings/restructures, do bonuses that don't effect the cap come out of Teppers pocket? Cuz he doesn't give a fug about $10m here or there to keep Cam/Haason/Gilmore/Shaq happy
-
Yeah not seeing much in major saving per player than Shaq, that could be around $5m freed up. Moton/CMC/Robby are the big newish contracts so seems like a stretch to restructure already unless it's simple 1 year extensions to move money around. Either way we could probably get Cam/Reddick/Gilmore all back with big bonuses/small cap hits. The Saints do this stuff every year

If the Saints can pull off these stunts without penalty seems like anything is possible as long as a player agrees to it

Way too early look at ‘22 Offseason
Jackie Lee replied to Santee_Panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
They changed that injury rule with the 2018 draft picks, he's getting the $18m one way or another -
Yup the draft pick/good player plus Sam trade is the only option. Realistically the only rebuilding teams with lots of cap are Dolphins and Jaguars. Broncos/Bengals/Jets have a good chunk of money but I just don't see them being interested. We also don't have a 2nd or 3rd round pick next year so I don't know if we can entice anyone to take a 2023 pick in exchange. This was one extremely expensive mistake between the picks and 5th year option

I don't know much about the 5th year option besides it's fully guaranteed. I wonder if they can split the money into multiple years at least? -
I don't think our team is scared of anyone right now, straight alpha out the gate with the Cardinals
-
We got 2 fresh QB's, and a late bye week. Not really scared of any team after what's been going down the last two weeks
-
He'll get paid but would be willing to make it cap friendly, maybe a big bonus or whatever. D Jax is great but he's gotta take the most guaranteed while he's young and healthy. Keith Taylor is ballin, Horn will be back, AJ has another year. So Gilmore and Haason/Shaq the only big money vets on this D is a pretty great situation
-
He's got a ring, his wife is happy, got the grandparents around to watch the kids, 20 min drive to work. Why would he take a couple extra million to live in a hotel or apartment for another team
-
"30 for 30, Superman returns"
-
Yup Lions only easy game for them and they're due for a random breakout game, they only beat them 19-17 in their first match
-
Rhule still burning dumbass time outs, hopefully Cam will help him relax and just be a sideline cheerleader or whatever he's good at. Still trying to figure out what Rhule excels at besides lying to the media
-
Theres not really a world beater team out there right now. Bills lost to the Jags defense so i'm sure we took some notes on that one
-
Yeah more worried about them than the Falcons or Saints. We also have a bye and most these other teams already had theirs so we come in fresh for the last 4 games
