  1. Clausen numbers Darnold after week 4: 55.4 completion percentage TD-INT 4-10
  2. Yeah spending all those years under Mike McCarthy only to find out that Rodgers can win with any scrub coaching staff hasn't really helped either of them in the long run.
  3. Hopefully it's some kind of Baker curse and he gets Rhule fired this year
  4. Towards the middle of the year last year it may as well have been Nathan Peterman out there. People forget how dire things were before the Cam signing cam along for the FO to purposefully distract/pique interest.
  5. Balboni's interviews are always pretty good. Here he mentions he already knows Campen, Higgins, Corbett, prepared/threw DJ for the combine, has known CMC since 2015.
  6. I would add that he mentioned he already knows Campen's O-line terminology/protections so that's half the battle really. Now it's just translating the playbook.
  7. Thought I heard that. On the one hand it's not a good thing for owners to get involved at that level, on the other no one trusts Rhules personnel decisions after last year so maybe that's a situation where Tepper will side with Fitt and McAdoo if Rhule is being stubborn.
  8. Pretty sure there's a lot of us that are just waiting for the Rhule era to end, and think Baker will be a more entertaining 1 year experiment than watching Darnold shrug his way through another season. Hopefully Corral can actually develop during whatever this year is, the whole staff may be gone next year despite the Jay-Z plan. I'm still of the belief you can be a fan of the team and hate current staff/ownership, most older franchises are the same way. Fans always outlast whatever rich dickheads come in and fug things up for years until they go away
  9. One issue is the QB coach and McAdoo trying to teach all 3 guys a new offense/verbiage at the same time. Corral naturally will probably take a little longer with actual play calling and probably won't get the attention/reps he needs for a while.
  10. I'm pretty sure Darnold wants to be a future bench warmer for a couple million a year for another 5-10 years. The new Charlie Whitehurst
  11. He's 66, don't think much is gonna change up stairs for him at this point. Wilks is a good secondary coach but when he was DC he just blitzed like 80% of the time right?
  12. They were ranked around 10th in the league heading into week 17. In fantasy they were like 27th in actual willing to gamble on them preventing points or forcing turnovers, which is pretty much the goal of defense, not limiting a particular amount of yards or whatever stats people like to throw out there
  13. He ranked 12th in 2018 and 11th in 2020 after the seasons so 15 is a pretty fair starting point. Could swing 5 spots up or 10 spots down under this staff.
  14. I had no idea Walter football was such a nut job looking at his Twitter replies. I think his site is best left to keeping track of available free agents, everything else has turned kinda childish
  15. Darnold not even on the list ouch. I guess they kept it to 1 qb per team for these rankings
  16. Would you expect anything else coming out of strict mormon ideals? You can't have a beard but can have like 20 baby momma's.
  17. Well he's a complete 180 from Darnold, which will at least be entertaining television
  18. Maybe he'll go as far as a 4 qb system this year to really get the opposing teams heads spinning
  19. It was a horrible contract for sure. Wouldn't have mattered last year if he was here either way and now we have like 15 WR's on the squad. Baker is gonna want/need Higgins on the field especially early in the year with not much offseason time to acclimate to everyone
  20. They owe him about $10M guaranteed this year and $10M again next year either way and I don't think anyone would give us anything of any value in return to compensate. It's part of the process
  21. Exactly. If Darnold is done, Baker is basically a more experienced Corral. They basically play the same RPO/half field read game. Baker is in year 5 of his career and still struggles sitting in the pocket on full field reads when the D's force him to. That's basically the biggest knock on Corral and I don't think it would take him long to make 2 or 3 half field reads one he learns the playbook. Baker's arm seems a little more accurate at the middle/long throws at the moment though so that's something Corral may or may not be able to match/correct. Accuracy is kinda up in the air as far as being coachable, once you're in the thick of it most guys just revert to their natural tendencies for better or worse
  22. One thing i've noticed watching these breakdowns is Baker is still basically just reading 2 reads/half the field when he's performing well I don't see why Corral couldn't eventually do the same. Similar arm talent, Corral a little taller. Mayfield maybe a little more naturally accurate with his ball placement but Corral still needs at least a decent amount of preseason minutes to get acclimated before he's on the bench all year long. Hope Darnold gets cut so Corral actually gets fair work in practice to be prepared to come in
  23. Nobody was high on McAdoo 4 years ago so he can deal with it or go back to "consulting"
  24. I think we have enough threads going so I'll just throw PNP's good bad and ugly breakdown in here, he throws in some nice analytics by the year with his performance vs O-line and skill player rankings, and then basic film reactions. I always like their breakdowns for the regular person in addition to the QB genius film study guys like Kurt Warner etc.. Sometimes nice to just go by feel instead of who should have done what on every single route
