How? They only have $3M dollars in cap room and need like $60M to sign Watson/Armstead/Fuller/etc

Saints can maybe pull off Armstead and Fuller, but otherwise we have way more flexibility to hand craft the roster for Watson if that's what he's looking for. And also can realistically pay him whatever he wants in his restructure/extension. The Saints even after these moves still have like $10 in cap space next year

I mean if I had 3 job offers all relatively equal but one had Matt Rhule as the boss I'd not really be all that into that one. Just spending every day with the guy could drive one insane

Yup, and then the Texans have to further negotiate. Sounds like the Falcons don't even have their trade package together to get an interview. Everyone is so impatient

At least good enough to not have 6-7 teams drag this whole thing out. Watson will come back to them with his approvals, and then the Texans will negotiate with whatever number of teams left until everyone ok's it. So it might be the Texans 2nd best offer, and Watson's 2nd favorite situation before both sides will sign off on a team and get it over with

Rapoport just said Watson and the Texans are actually working fairly cordially in coming up for a solution, and he also said the Falcons meeting isn't set in stone, just that they are hoping to meet with Watson tmrw. Maybe a straight up no from the Texans

Our only selling point to Watson would be to extend his contract offering more money than any other team, and converting enough of this year into a signing bonus so we can sign the best LT available. Still doesn't solve the Rhule issue though, that's gotta sting for Tepper
