With his restructure his 2023 dead cap just went from $3M to almost $10M, so cutting him would be kinda eh. Maybe they'll try to add another year on or something in the future
-
So we got $40M tied up in DJ and Robby next year
-
This is so much better than waiting on Watson tweets like the Falcons and Saints boards are still doing. Saints fans are like just fuging sign Winston already and move on
-
Damien Wilson will probably play alot of special teams, but I'm pretty sure he's specifically good in the run game, just a liability in coverage because he's like 6' 260lbs
-
I'm sure ATL will work some kind of magic to get better at WR, but for now double team Pitts and I think that pretty much covers their offense
-
Yeah, whatever he gets Donte is getting less than that for sure
-
Yeah gotta see what happens with Rasul as well. Eli Apple just got 1 year $4M and they basically had the same stats
-
Donte is ranked around 10th FA CB left, and these guys ahead of him are only getting like $6-10M a year. Maybe not the best year to be a FA CB, especially coming off injuries last couple years

Matt Ioannidis is signing with the Carolina Panthers, per source
Jackie Lee replied to SgtJoo's topic in Carolina Panthers
Would be nice to only rush 3 occasionally. Ioannidis/Brown/Daviyon? -
Wilson's just mad someone else had a relevant scoop
-
I guess we'll find out if that's an actual stipulation soon but I really doubt it if he's down to two options now. If ATL really does full guarantee all of it, gives up all those picks and something legal or health wise happens to him they royally fuged for a very long time
-
That's dumb, the only reason to trade for a guy like that is to have him for 10 years

Carolina quietly cleared more cap with RA

They were always contending. We're in a lame duck year with Rhule, why give him an extra $5M from our 2023 cap space to gamble with this year? Just short changes the next HC's free agency if Rhule gets fired -

Especially with the Packers just losing Adams, Robby had some trade value as it was. I can't believe Robby's little camp holdout turned into a $22M 2023 cap hit. Now it's a $9M dead cap if we cut him next year instead of $3M. Not sure it's worth it for an extra $5M to spend in a lame duck year -

Looks like they didn't add void years but I think next years cap hit for Robby went up. It's now saying his 23 hit is almost $22M, I hope thats a typo https://overthecap.com/salary-cap/carolina-panthers/ -
Can't read the article, but would be no surprise. Why would Mariota/Jimmy G/whoever feel different than these guys? They also offered Cam already according to PNP and he's out talking to Seattle. They have no choice but to draft a guy eventually
-
We almost beat the Chiefs w our poo staff and we're trending slightly better already so it's still any given Sunday.

True about the people that actually said they'd stop rooting. It'll be interesting to see how the Falcons if they land Watson, deal with a whole season of PR with not only the upcoming Watson civil cases and probable suspension, but also blindsiding their clean cut veteran QB of 13 years or whatever. Probably hoping no one will remember in 5 years if they're actually good
-
I get that but you can hate Rhule and Tepper who will eventually go away and still be a fan of the team. The team will outlast either of them unless they sell and move to another city
-
The teenage Watson fan bots sure did drop off the face of the earth rather quickly, that's a blessing
-
They did it not in a great way, but it was a new staff, during Covid, with an injured QB who they couldn't even meet with in person due to Covid...A lot different than Baker or Matt finding out on Twitter that they're on the trade block out of nowhere
-
I believe they wouldn't drop any names until the NTC was waived to avoid internal turmoil but I'm assuming they said "1-3 players" in the offer

Saints and Falcons boards aren't excited either. Saints fans wanna just get Winston back and Falcons fans are like with what money and players are we still not shitty?
