Tanking does not guarantee a good QB
Jackie Lee replied to Panthers Fan 69's topic in Carolina Panthers
You got any actual numbers on that for the last 5-10 years? Not arguing just curious. Lamar, Carr, Hurts, Cousins, probably a couple more that may not be the most ideal guys but haven't had much competition as far as losing their jobs. Those are basically 2nd round or later guys -
Yeah I doubt any team used to actually "competing" is actually interested, now that there are college football playoffs and NIL deals. One of his bigger accomplishments in college was beating ECU while at Temple right? LOL. To put it in perspective on an NFL level, he's not qualified to be a DC like Quinn or Rivera, or an OC for whatever failed head coach that went back to that position. Heck Snow wouldn't even get hired by another NFL team to be a DC even though we built a talented roster through the draft and FA

Both suck obviously, Fowler should have been out of the building with David Newton like 5 years ago. Sick of the old dinosaurs. The less old white guys the better for me

Media team is having fun again, wonder why
-
Uh oh Newton in LA. He's gonna get hit by a car or something
-
Some news was speculating he might not rush back into college either. More opinion pieces than sourced material but I wouldn't be surprised if he laid low for a while. Although I hated his press conferences I'm interested in hearing his first interview/presser post firing

They already sucked at RB before this
-
Yeah fug it at that point. Have Ryan in the box but just run a bunch of no huddle up tempo stuff. Can't get any worse

That will be one of the more intriguing things to watch for on Sunday. Wilks wasted no time giving McAdoo his thoughts on the offensive play calling, so we'll see. I think McAdoo is too stubborn/stuck in his ways to adjust but I hope I'm wrong. They literally just need to run more and up the play action calls from 10% to 20-30%

Person analyzes Rhule's time as Panthers coach

McAdoo was supposed to give him the Eli Manning treatment but that didn't work out either. -

I think Darnold was supposed to be Rhule's "Developmental young QB", "he was the same age as the guys in the draft, he just needs a new environment", etc.. -
One of these 4 qb's on the roster has gotta be able to play average behind these guys. D will take care of the rest

The Rhule vacation thing is so lame. So you go on vacation knowing that you're going to fire the OC and that you have Cam who needs to get caught up asap. Instead of at the least firing Brady before hand so Nixon or whoever can spend a week with him, you do it the Monday after vacation, wasting Brady's time, and giving Nixon only a day and a half to get a game and practice plan together for that Wednesday. Sounds like that whole situation kicked off half the guys not buying in and the 7 game skid -

He did Joe Brady dirty. Also who cares about Cam Ervings opinion, he's outta here asap. I know he's excited about getting paid double his value to ride the bench. -
So Eason hadn't taken a single snap on scout team or anything til Wednesday Would you rather have that or Baker as the backup but possibly not able to set his feet very well?

Bryce Young would have to go on IR after playing for either of these Thursday night teams. That leaves Stroud and a bunch of guys that are probably 2nd/3rd round backup/project guys. Seems like more of a depth draft in general rather than a big impact player one.
