The biggest thing that will prevent that payoff from ever coming to fruition is the lack of a QB capable of making plays when the chips are down. Jared Goff is only “the guy” when he has perfect protection, a strong run game, and a defense holding his opponents to minimal points.

PFT guys generally have some of the worst takes. I think Goff looks ok because he's got really good running backs, not that he has greatly improved his personal QB numbers in any category. He's still in the same range of Td/Int ratio and overall yardage of the past 4-5 years. Rams moved on because he couldn't get it done in the playoffs, I imagine he'd pull the same choke job with the Lions

Also that if he knew he only had 2.5 years he would have made a blockbuster trade, when the reality is he tried to trade for Stafford and Watson and they said hell nah. I'm glad he finally decided to shut his mouth this week, that media tour didn't do him any favors and I imagine his agent and Nebraska let him know it

This will be a good opportunity to watch Cam Ward live. I don't think there was a Washington State game televised on the East Coast unless you have ESPN+ or whatever it's called. Not sure if he's declared or not yet but would be tough to skip over if we go BPA 1st and 2nd rounds and he's sitting there on day 3. He just kinda came out of nowhere and only 20, I could see him returning if he thinks he can get some NIL's and raise his draft stock for next year by putting 2 good years on film back to back

Yeah, people are just looking at stats and ignoring how horrible his WR's were. I think he's actually only throwing at Pro Day but I think he'll look fine as long as he's throwing to guys that were supposed to be starters before guys got injured

Varking is the only Gator guy, everyone else just likes what they see from the eye test. You can't really look at his stats and ignore the fact he was throwing to 4th string WR's. His accuracy at the combine throwing to NFL caliber WR's is going to have a pretty big influence on his draft positioning
