I feel very strongly about this... Derek Carr.
Jackie Lee replied to Proudiddy's topic in Carolina Panthers
Who knows that's a lot of QB's. If you do the math on Sams last 6 starts, he would hypothetically have 20 tds to 9 ints on a full season at that pace -

I'm not sure if averaging 24 tds to 11 ints per year is all that much to get excited about. My main thing is Carr wants to play, he doesn't want to be a bridge QB for a draft pick. What if we got Carr and then Stroud falls to 9? -

Either him or Irsay/GM tried to get him multiple times apparently https://www.yardbarker.com/nfl/articles/will_new_panthers_hc_frank_reich_go_after_derek_carr_once_again/s1_16460_38398563 -
Insane for that little guy. If he loses a step from that ACL/MCL injury he's basically useless There's some fears with how Murray will look once on the field again, yet the financial aspect of his presence in Arizona is notable as well. His extension sees the following cap hits after 2023 (via Spotrac): 2024: $51.857 million 2025: $45.614 million 2026: $55.549 million 2027: $43.535 million 2028: $46.350 million

$60M over the cap, don't think a trade is realistic. If he hits FA they could probably get rid of Winston somehow and get Carr's 1st year cap hit pretty low
-
Well if he decides to leave it will be for a HC job. Interesting timing to interview Flores though. Would be kinda crazy to just let Evero walk in favor of Flores. That said I'll take him if he hits the open market

THE ATHLETIC: Potential cap casualties….
Jackie Lee replied to WarPanthers89's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yeah looking at FA's there's not really a vet LB that could replace him. Corey Littleton and Denzel Perryman are available again, those types. Shaq's extension would save $11M, cutting would save $13M. Might as well have him actually play football for us the $2M difference. Or trade but I dunno what we'd want for him, a 3rd rounder? Swap for another average player at another position? -
Look about the same, Kyler is just shaped like a huge toddler

The QB School : Breaking down AR and Levis

Easy you're gonna upset the Levis truthers -
Steve Smith on the Wilks vs Reich debate
Jackie Lee replied to methodtoll's topic in Carolina Panthers
Damn talking to the ticket office, picking which players can do media haha. What a fuging clown. Asking players to watch tape in the locker room an hour before the game? Too late dork everything is already dialed in, dudes are trying to get their minds right to hit people for 3 hours straight. That was the best little 5 mins of this -
THE ATHLETIC: Potential cap casualties….

They can't restructure, it's his last year. They can extend and save/push $9M which I'd be fine with. He'll be decent for a couple more years -
THE ATHLETIC: Potential cap casualties….
Jackie Lee replied to WarPanthers89's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yeah they can restructure Moton and Moore, maybe do something with Donte's contract. Biggest hit is dead cap from CMC and that horrible Robbie contract. Sucks to kick the can down the road on restructures but they have $145M in cap room for 2024 so it's not the biggest deal to move $20M or so in the top 4 or 5 players over to next year in addition to the cuts. We can get to probably $40M under the cap if they really wanna sign a few decent FA's -
Steve Smith on the Wilks vs Reich debate
Jackie Lee replied to methodtoll's topic in Carolina Panthers
If Wilks really was adamant about Holcomb returning as DC I wouldn't be surprised. Great culture guy but also kinda stuck in his ways Rivera style. Reich seems more open to evolving with the rest of the NFL, and also has more connections. That would probably sway me towards Reich also if I were the owner. Duce Staley is already gonna replace some of that energy Wilks brought and won't be surprised if he's in line to take over HC eventually -
THE ATHLETIC: Potential cap casualties….

Him getting a new contract in the first place was much more surprising than this idea to cut him. That was such a nightmare of a 4 TE rotation for no reason. -

Dump Thomas and grab Ebron for whatever the cap savings were. He probably would play for $3-4M if healthy -
The QB School : Breaking down AR and Levis
Jackie Lee replied to Your GFs favorite huddler's topic in Carolina Panthers
Go DL/WR at 9 or trade back and do the same thing, grab Hooker with one of our 2nds. Worth the gamble. Worst case he's a solid backup QB for years. He technically checks all the boxes for what Reich is looking for in a qb. -
He's got 3" and 10 pounds on Malik. He's a little bigger than Lamar-6'2" 216 at the combine, AR is 6'4" 230 and only 21. Cam ran a 4.6 40, AR runs a 4.4ish. Lamar ran a 4.3 Who knows if he can get more consistent as a passer. The nice thing is we have Reich who can actually conduct proper interviews with these QB's as opposed to whatever questions Rhule/Brady/Mcadoo were wasting peoples time with.

Panthers Social Team is having too much fun
Jackie Lee replied to GRWatcher's topic in Carolina Panthers
Not sure if Rhule thought that was for some kind of competitive advantage or if he was just being an asshole. Either way it was a bad look. Everyone runs the same plays, other teams gave tons of access and it didn't affect anything game related -
The QB School : Breaking down AR and Levis
Jackie Lee replied to Your GFs favorite huddler's topic in Carolina Panthers
I'm pretty sure Herbert would be above Levis and AR if they were in the same draft. I remember his biggest knock was "Not fiery enough" "Not a leader" kinda stuff. -
If it is Gus I wonder if they'd grab Ngakoue again. Was with him Jags Raiders and Colts I think. Probably $13M a year for basically getting another Reddick. Good pass rush numbers, bad run game numbers
-
Seems so player dependent. Especially only rushing 4. Had a 12% blitz rate with the Raiders. We don't have that kinda D-line

Reich’s description of a QB: It’s basically Corral
Jackie Lee replied to Wundrbread33's topic in Carolina Panthers
I'd go with AR if we're talking about pure physical attributes but I understand where you're coming from
