Something like if player gets a $25M signing bonus, that can be a $5M cap hit per year spread over five years, but you pay out the actual cash in year one. So Tepper can afford to pay up front unlike probably someone like the Raiders
-
It's almost another Sam/Baker move though. You trade picks away for him, and have to pretty much immediately pick up his 5th year option for next year without really knowing if he can have any kind of sustained success
-
I can see how his past interviews didn't go all that well. Super weird vibe after listening to our new coaches the past few days.

How about a Giants mock draft from mid December 2021 then? Round 5, 147th Overall: Will Levis, QB, Kentucky No matter what the New York Giants do in terms of addressing the quarterback position, finding a suitable backup would be a good call. Whether it’s Daniel Jones or even Russell Wilson in 2022, Mike Glennon and Jake Fromm aren’t likely to end up backups next season. It’s unclear if he’ll enter the 2022 NFL Draft at this point, but Will Levis is an intriguing day three quarterback who made a ton of noise in 2021. Levis has a solid arm and flashed good placement on the deep ball for the Wildcats. With some development, Levis can become a capable backup and spot starter for the Giants.
-
I could do this all day as well if you want to quote SB Nation articles Pro Football Network recently updated their seven-round 2022 NFL Mock Draft, and they now have six Wildcats getting selected. Will Levis is the third Cat to come off the board as a fourth-round pick going 108th overall to the Seattle Seahawks. After a few weeks where Levis struggled, he has completely turned it around stringing together two quality performances against LSU and Georgia.

Panthers met with Hooker per report
Jackie Lee replied to raleigh-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
Your comment of the fact he couldn't find a better school for a starting job hasn't been mentioned enough by fans or the media. Just an instant excuse for why he didn't look great for some reason. At the same time what if you just swapped him out of Hendon on the Tenn offense? I don't think he'd put up the same numbers, he's nowhere near as accurate in his passing or as calm in the pocket. -
I'm not understanding the numerical value of these listings, some were good backups that were forced into starting and didn't do any worse than the guys they spent too much on

Panthers met with Hooker per report

"Talking about a body of work, a game that was his best, I need to see more and I need to see a lot more"- Levis stans favorite 2021 game broken down on the QB school -
In that case just take AR at 9 or trade 9 for Fields and build a great defense in FA. Lamar has the shelf life of a running back and coming off 2 years of injuries it's close to the end
-
I don't really want Lamar either if that's been a part of this, I was working most the day so not sure how this has evolved. I'm in the get Brissett/Minshew/Darnold if we have to vet camp and I like going up for Stroud or taking Hooker on day 2 mindset. If Hooker isn't the guy he's your backup for 4 years, I think he's instantly better than Teddy B, best case a Kirk Cousins with wheels kinda guy
-
Carr was ranked in between Pickett and Darnold on the end of year list. We don't need yet another fix it project. He's not even a Kirk Cousins level threat, if the Saints or Bucs took Carr this whole board would not be scared of playing him twice a year. Definition of just a guy
-
It seems like it's usually established guys that don't really need much help, or flash hires of guys from winning teams that take the paycheck and then hire whoever. Then occasional college gambles obviously

Frank Reich's and Jim Caldwell's interviews from today
Jackie Lee replied to jayboogieman's topic in Carolina Panthers
I thought Reich came off as more all business and football, total 180 from Rhule fumbling his way through with nonsense. Caldwell seemed relaxed/humble because he's just here for support, he was basically like all these questions are above my pay grade lol. -
Brown and Staley gonna get people hyped on Thursday.
